Story
Buddy came from a shelter in Georgia where he was on the list to be euthanized. Another rescue did the pull to save his life but then never showed up to the airport to pick him up. Since we were there we couldn't help but try to help. What we know about Buddy- loves to play, knows to sit and it seems that he had someone working with him at some point. Buddy would do best in an active home or farm and with a job to do. He does seem to like the ladies but would recommend a slow introduction. Buddy would not fit in a home with cats. He is currently on vaccines and is heartworm-negative. For more information on our fostering and fostering to adopt please visit our website at www.littlebeansorphanark.com

Story
Hi! My name is Bandit. I've got lots of energy and I am super loyal to my pack. I was a street dog in Hawaii before someone found me and brought me to the Humane Society there. My current family has a smaller dog and a 1-year-old and I get along with them great! I like to hog the attention though, and the food which makes me a little bossy, but never aggressive. I try to hunt cats, squirrels, chickens and anything that looks like a small plush toy; and my family doesn't like that. I LOVE walks and enjoy the outdoors where I can roam and explore. I drink a ton of water and did I mention I like to eat? Food makes me content :) I know how to sit, stay, fetch, wait, lay down, stand up, and paw. I can even look for my Kong and bring it to you when you ask, "where's your toy?" I'm stubborn sometimes, but very smart and I'm open to learning new habits. I'm looking for a companion human to live my best life with. I know the right fit is out there for me and I wonder, could that be you?

Story
Meet Cookie!! This cute as a button little potato is likely a result of irresponsible breeders trying to create a mini cattle dog. He looks like he is a Chi/ cattle dog mix. He came to HART extremely timid and with a few fear based issues and lack of any doggie social skills. He has now spent a couple of weeks with our wonderful trainer and this little guy has made so much progress. Here is what our trainer told us about Cookie: 'He is still a bit shy when he first meets you, but a cuter little man with so much personality it would be hard to find. This is NOT a super athletic, needs a ton of exercise little dog. This is going to be a little dog with a huge personality, but athletically limited, snuggly little potato who would love another confident dog in the home for company and to cuddle with. He's a puppy, so he can be mouthy and pushy with dogs so a dog who will keep him in line and show him that scary things in his new environment are just fine would be ideal. He does not need a super playful rough and tumble companion as at this point his little body likely won't tolerate real rough and tumble play unless it was with another small dog. What he really needs is a role model more than a playmate &#128513,,, He is house trained, crate trained, walks ok on a leash (but really isn't into long walks at this point) a small yard would be ample. He is truly a little dog who would do great in a town house or even apartment. If interested in Cookie, please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Cookie! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=17156 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Cookie, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

ADOPTION FEE: $475 **SEE SPECIAL EVENT ABOUT GRACIE: Gracie came to us from a rural rescue partner. She was surrendered because her owner sadly has stage 4 cancer. Gracie has been struggling with shelter life and would really like to have a home, even a temporary home with a foster. We do the best we can to help all of our dogs feel comfortable, safe, and loved but there are is a lot of constant stimulation that can create a lot of stress for a pup. Gracie LOVES to play fetch with her ball. She takes her ball everywhere! She will carry it from her kennel to the field and back again. It's her binky. When you start running, she will run with you because she wants to be by your side. Gracie struggles with being overstimulated with pets. She absolutely loves company from her people but would like breaks from being petted too much. Graice struggles with other dogs since coming to the Farm and at this time we believe that she would do best as the only dog. When we do more dog testing, we will update her profile. Please give Gracie a chance. Come see for yourself how amazing she is by filling out an adoption application today. Deacon is high energy and would need a family with teenagers or an individual who is active (enjoys jogging or running) and would also benefit a large fenced yard would be great for Deacon to put the energy to good use! Apartment living would not be a good place for Deacon. Deacon can be a little mouthy with other dogs and it would depend on how the other dog interacts. Deacon would do best as the only dog in the home. All in all Deacon is a sweet boy but sometimes he tries to test the boundaries.
