Stella is a sweet and gentle 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as her soft, soulful eyes. Though she can be shy at first, once she gets to know you, Stella will shower you with love, cuddles, and plenty of sweet kisses! Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. Stella is already spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so she’s ready to go to her forever home! It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. Stella does have an anti-inflammatory that she takes when her knees "act up." This condition may also cause arthritis to set in earlier in life. Meet Trevor! This guy is our Adoption Manager's favorite and is well loved by all CASPCA staff. Trevor has a big personality that's hard to miss. If he could talk, he'd tell you that his greatest value in life is FUN! He loves nothing more than to romp around and play. He's always up to something and his goofy antics are certain to bring joy to anyone's day to day. He gets along well with other dogs that also like to be rough and tumble. Despite his goofiness, Trevor can get serious about obedience and training, especially when treats are involved. He will sit on command, walks gently on leash (unless he's excited), and responds to a firm "no" if he's being too boisterous. After a year of being in and out of the shelter, Trevor is ready to go home! He's a true all-rounder who would make a great addition to a home looking for a furry friend to brighten their day. Niblet has done well in his foster homes, and has been noted to do well with young children. He's a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and other dogs! If pure joy had four legs and a tail, it would absolutely be Butter. We’re pretty sure his brain runs on “Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows” 24/7 — and honestly, it’s part of his charm. Butter is the definition of a happy-go-lucky dog. A little silly, a little clueless and 100% the kind of pup who wakes up every day believing something wonderful is about to happen. Butter didn’t grow up in the best circumstances, but you would never know it by the way he acts now. Since joining DDBBR at the beginning of the year, he has been nothing but a warm, golden Buttery light beaming at the chance to live free from the chain he use to be tethered to. Despite his cheerful spirit, Butter has only ever lived outdoors or in boarding — he’s never had a true family of his own. And he deserves that chance more than anything. The silver lining is that boarding has allowed us to really get to know him, and we can happily share that Butter enjoys the company of most other dogs! He’s still polishing up some of his social skills (we lovingly call him a “sweet himbo” around here), so a meet and greet with resident dogs is a must. Whoever opens their home to Butter won’t just be giving a dog a chance — they’ll be changing his entire world.
