Stella is a sweet and gentle 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as her soft, soulful eyes. Though she can be shy at first, once she gets to know you, Stella will shower you with love, cuddles, and plenty of sweet kisses! Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. Stella is already spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so she’s ready to go to her forever home! It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. Stella does have an anti-inflammatory that she takes when her knees "act up." This condition may also cause arthritis to set in earlier in life. Luna is a 10 month old spayed Heeler mix who is as smart and stunning as she is energetic. She weighs about 25 pounds and packs a whole lot of personality into a compact, athletic frame. This girl is pure puppy enthusiasm paired with a very sweet heart. Luna is crate trained and does beautifully in her crate, going in willingly and staying quiet. She is doing well with house training and thrives when her people pay attention to her cues and keep her on a consistent routine. She knows sit, stay, wait, leave it, and kennel up, and she sits politely to have her leash attached and waits at the door before going outside. She is eager to learn and very responsive to training. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and is generally submissive, often rolling over during play. She loves playing with dog friends, running, chasing, and romping outside. She has shown some excitement around toys and is working on better boundaries, which will continue to improve with guidance and structure. Luna is friendly with strangers, does well with cats, and has been exposed to larger animals like horses, cows, goats, and pigs. She may bark at them from the fence, but they remain unimpressed. Luna loves going for walks. She loves to sniff, explore, and be on the move. She also loves plush toys, bones, swimming in warmer weather, and being wherever the fun is happening. Luna is a puppy full of all the classic cattle dog energy who needs an experienced owner, plenty of exercise, and a yard where she can run and burn off steam. While she is incredibly affectionate, silly, and wiggly, she has not reached couch potato status and may never quite get there. This handsome boy is a big-time cuddler who believes the best place to be is curled up on or next to you on the couch! Dash is a true sweetheart with an enormous capacity for love. He is incredibly devoted and a true "Stage 5 Clinger," making him the ultimate companion who just wants to be part of the action. This deep loyalty means he is highly motivated to stay near his people. A fenced yard is recommended to keep him safe as he learns his boundaries.  He has a gentle, soft demeanor, and his excited jumping is more like a sweet, soft hug that's easily redirectable.  Dash is super smart and eager to please! He quickly learned his name and the "sit" command and is crate trained. While he is showing great promise in his training, he is still working on mastering his house manners—with a consistent schedule, he'll quickly complete this last lesson!  He enjoys playing tug with toys and loves any activity that taps into his natural instincts, like a flirt pole. Dash is a fantastic, perfect running partner and enjoys walks, but he needs a consistent handler to practice and perfect his leash skills. Dash is wonderful with the other dogs he has met and loves to play! He is gentle meeting new people, suggesting he would do well with children (with supervision). While he has not been cat tested, his excitement when he sees cats on walks causes him to want to chase them. We feel cats are a no first Dash. Luckily, he’s incredibly trainable and eager to learn, especially when treats and praise are involved. This clever boy is also housetrained and takes pride in keeping things tidy. He’s currently learning how to make friends with other dogs — taking things slow and steady — and showing great progress with patience and positive introductions.
