Story
Indigo and his litter mates were dropped off at an overly full shelter in NC when they were about 6-7 months old. They were afraid and under socialized. About a month later they were transferred to yet another shelter where we met Indigo. We are working on him getting more confidence by going on outings and introducing him to new surroundings/people/dogs. He’s doing very well but still needs more time doing these things. In the house his "puppyness" is starting to show. He’s more comfortable inside and will become a more normal goofy puppy that makes us laugh every day. He’s doing well with his housebreaking but will need to be taken out after he’s had food and nap time. Indigo responds to Uhuh (as in “no”) and he’s doing very well in the house overall apart from the occasional chewing on things he shouldn’t. We are working on crate training and he’s doing better every day. We transport him in a crate in the car and he’s getting much more comfortable with that as well. Now he sleeps through the car ride. For his breed. Your guess is our guess. We are thinking he might have some Cattle Dog in him? Indigo hasn’t been around children and is afraid of them. Therefore, we recommend a home without kids. He’s done extremely well with the other foster dog in the home (he’s quite smitten with Miss Jessie) and we like the way she sometimes bosses him around. Please come meet this adorable pup with radar ears. If you have any questions about him please let us know. We will be happy to answer them.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/doris/ Hi, I'm Doris! In Greek, my name means "gift and I like to think of myself as a gift to those who are lucky enough to be my friend. I am the total package - beautiful, smart, confident, and independent. Some may say I'm a little sassy, but that's just because I have strong opinions and I'm not shy about letting you know how I feel. I take my time choosing my friends, but I am affectionate and playful with those who have earned my trust. My favorite activity is splashing around in my pool when it's hot outside, but I also love going for walks, playing with stuffed toys, and cuddling up in cozy blankets. You don't have to worry about keeping me entertained at every moment, though, as I enjoy having plenty of time and space to do my own thing. An important thing to know about me is that I like to be in charge of my environment and belongings, especially my food, but I am working on getting better at that with people I trust. Because I am still a work-in-progress, however, my ideal home would be with adults only and no other pets. I would also prefer a home without a lot of visitors, since it takes me time to build my relationships. If you are an experienced and patient owner, and are willing to go at my pace with introductions and trust building, I might be just the gift you need in your life. Ask to meet me - we might be the perfect match! Doris is sponsored by: Laura Dove - I hope you find your forever home soon. Story
https://foha.org/pet/jekyll2023/ Hello there! I'm Jekyll, and I'm excited to open up a new chapter with you by sharing my story. Named after the Halloween season when I found my way to FOHA, rest assured, I'm all about sweetness and love! My journey began as a stray, but luck turned in my favor when I was rescued and brought to FOHA. Now, I'm on the lookout for my forever family, eagerly anticipating the day I find a home filled with love. A little heads up about me - I'm a bit of a hugger. When I meet new people, I might express my excitement with a jump. It's my way of showing affection and enthusiasm for making new friends. I can't help but be overjoyed by all the love and attention I receive! Now, about the slip lead - you might see a bit of Mr. Hyde come out when it comes to taking it off. I'm sensitive, especially around my neck, which might be due to some mats. Using treats as a distraction can be really helpful in this situation. Despite this, I'm a very smart dog and am eager to learn and please. Playful and sweet, I'm ready to be the source of joy and love in your life. If you're in search of a loyal companion dedicated to spreading happiness, look no further - I'm your guy. Let's embark on this new journey together, creating wonderful memories along the way. Come meet me, Jekyll, and let's forge a loving bond that will last a lifetime.

I'm also quite the social pup and enjoy the company of my canine pals. While I'm still new here at FOHA, they are learning more about me every day. Stay tuned for updates like how I am around cats and children. Though I was surrendered to a previous facility, I'm ready to start a new chapter of my life with a loving family.
