Tulip is a cattle dog mix who came to us from a shelter with more dogs than adopters. She is almost 6 months old and weighs about 25 pounds. She'll grow a little more but expected to be a nice, medium size. Tulip really is one of the most well behaved puppies we have seen! She is friendly and happy and learns so quickly. She loves to sit for her treats and is almost house trained! She loves to play with other dogs and is well socialized. Tulip is intelligent and intuitive and just about perfect! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. We also have reduced or waived adoption fees for many seniors, dogs with special medical or behavioral needs and other "slow to adopt" dogs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi!  I'm Stephen!  People say I'm probably a chihuahua/heeler mix, but I don't know what that means.  I'm having a good time at my foster home with my brother and sisters. I was taken to a shelter when I was 6 weeks old and they got me to K Kids.  Since then I've been playing with lots of dogs and people.   I like to cuddle, play, and take long naps. Of my brother and sisters, I am the roughest and toughest and LOVE to paly with the big basset mix foster who is here.  I can hold my own with her even though she's big and strong compared to me!!!  I'd really like a doggie brother or sister to play with! This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys.
