Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Oliver (also known as Ollie) is a handsome Hound/Australian Shepherd mix. He's in the teenaged stage of dog development so is smart, capable, and highly trainable! Ollie has done very well with basic training and structure we've given him here at the shelter. He's been to various events and been a total gentleman. Ollie has a high prey drive which is great for training, but not so good for small furry animals like cats, rabbits, or small dogs. He behaves when around older children who know how to act around dogs. Ollie does well with other dogs but needs a controlled introduction to new dogs. Our friends at Camp Merricks can facilitate a meet and greet at their facility if you have other dogs. He is a regular day camper there so they know him well. Ollie is handsome, smart and ready to learn all the things his new family want him to know. Stop in and meet him today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    December 14, 2025, 6:01 am

Story
Sid was found at our local dump. He is a smart, energetic dog approximately 2 years old. We have 4 other dogs and he is not getting along with one of them in particular. He needs a place where he can work off his energy. Very friendly generally, but with shepherd mix he is also protective. We are working with a trainer to develop manners. He does get along with 3 of dogs, however he can be food protective so they are all fed separately. He is crate trained.

This adorable little girl and her siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Dainty is a gentle little girl, but dose love to run and play with other dogs. She has done amazing with her house and crate training. She is so deserving of a wonderful home to call her own. She is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. AUBREY IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED! Aubrey is a beautiful, loving 8-month-old pup with a heart full of sweetness and a playful spirit. Weighing in at 40 lbs, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion with lots of love to give! This girl loves running around outside, and proudly carrying sticks and leaves wherever she goes. She's curious about cats, great with dogs, and does well with kids who can keep up with her playful nature. Aubrey is a smart cookie too — she’s kennel trained, house trained, and leash trained! Like many herding breed mixes, she has a natural instinct and thrives with activity and engagement. A backyard where she can explore and play would be her dream come true! She absolutely loves attention from her humans and would be the perfect addition to a home looking for a loyal and affectionate companion. She deserves a forever home where she can grow, play, and be loved unconditionally. If you're ready to welcome a sweet, spunky, and devoted best friend into your life, Aubrey is waiting to meet you! She is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA.
