Story
Oreo is 2 years old, lived in small apartment with very limited outside time or time around people/other dogs until May 2025. He’s very smart, very cuddly once he adjusts to you. New owner should have experience with reactive dogs, and patience. We’ve fostered him a month & and he’s already made great progress. We are retired and travel frequently, want him to find a loving and positive family. Absolutely beautiful, Oreo is also marked with an “incomplete” white heart on the back of his neck. Adoption fee will be donated to Animal Aid Society.

Story
Meet Maggie May – A Sweet, Independent Soul Looking for a Fresh Start At 7 years young, Maggie May is a beautiful Heeler mix with a wise heart, gentle eyes, and a nose that’s always ready for a good sniff. Originally adopted from a shelter after likely raising more than her fair share of litters, Maggie is now looking for a better fit — a home that truly understands her needs and respects her boundaries. Maggie is the kind of dog who values connection but also independence. She loves pets and scratches, but on her terms — when she’s had enough, she’ll politely walk away like the classy lady she is. She’s not clingy or overly needy, but when she trusts you, her quiet loyalty speaks volumes. She loves her walks and takes her time exploring the world through her nose, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys a good stroll and doesn’t mind stopping to smell the roses (or fire hydrants). On walks, Maggie is well-mannered, and she’s been calm and friendly around children, happily accepting gentle pets without fuss. She’s not particularly social with other dogs, and larger dogs can make her nervous — she may bark at them, but it’s more about insecurity than aggression. Maggie would do best as the only pet in a calm household where she doesn’t feel the pressure to mingle with other animals. Currently weighing 33.8 pounds (as of 4/28/25), she’s a healthy girl with up-to-date vaccinations and a lot of life left to live. What she needs now is a younger, patient, and understanding person — someone who sees her not as a project, but as a partner. She’s eager for someone who will challenge her, gently train her, and most importantly, love her for who she is. Maggie May isn’t looking for chaos — just a peaceful home filled with kindness, structure, and someone who believes in second chances. If you think Maggie might be your perfect match, reach out to learn more. She’s ready to trade in uncertainty for unconditional love — could that be with you?   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 7, 2025, 9:39 pm

Story
Ginger Snap – A Sweetheart with a Freckled Face and a Heart Full of Love! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143       Meet Ginger Snap, a beautiful 9-month-old Heeler/Cattle Dog mix with red-speckled fur and a joyful spirit that’s impossible to resist. Weighing 43 pounds, she’s likely to top out around 50 — the perfect medium-sized companion for all of life’s adventures.       Ginger Snap and her sister, Roxy, were heartbreakingly abandoned in a neighborhood at the start of June. They wandered for weeks, searching for food, shelter, and kindness. Through it all, they never lost their hopeful hearts or the smiles on their faces. Eventually, their story reached a kindhearted rescuer, and with the help of Critter Cavalry Rescue, they’re now safe, loved, and ready to find forever homes.       This sweet girl has quickly proven to be a house-trained, crate-trained gem who loves both people and other dogs. Her whole body wiggles when she greets you, and her warm, loving personality shines through in everything she does. She’s smart, eager to learn, and would make a wonderful addition to a family — especially one with children.       What makes Ginger Snap special:       Crate trained and well-behaved indoors Social with other dogs and very people-friendly Happy, affectionate, and always smiling Smart and quick to learn new things A perfect size and temperament for an active family           Important Note:   Ginger Snap is a bit of a fence climber and has shown curiosity about what’s beyond the yard. She’ll need a secure, privacy-fenced yard or must be supervised while outside to keep her safe and sound. She may still be searching for the people who let her go, but with the right family, she’ll never want to leave again.       If you’re ready to bring joy, loyalty, and unconditional love into your life, Ginger Snap is ready to give you her whole heart.       Interested in adopting Ginger Snap?   Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com for more information or to start the application process.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 5, 2025, 1:19 pm

Story
Alfie is just the sweetest boy who is only 10 months old, weighs 48 pounds and has overcome so much in his young life.  This boy has overcome such a deep shyness with meeting new people and his foster mom has helped him learn confidence and the acceptance of affection from people.   He is a kind and sweet dog that is a medium energy, a kind spirit and good with other creatures in his life.  He is good with cats, dogs and just needs a slow introduction with new people. He loves his walks on the leash in the neighborhood and they have helped him build such a confidence that he never had when he first came to Critter Cavalry Rescue.  He is a Blue Heeler mix and we think he is oh so handsome.  Alfie is going to be a special rescue dog for someone.  Someone with patience and the desire to see a dog blossom every day in to a radiant soul that will make you the center of his universe and love.  If you would like to consider this boy please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 23, 2025, 11:28 am

Story
PICKETT Pickett was born in 2015. He is about 45 pounds, mostly black. He is a mystery mix. LOVES EVERYONE! He gets along with all people - he's a hugger and kisser Loves other dogs - moderately playful. He does try to hump the first time meeting, but is easily corrected. Loves cats. Great on the leash. And in the car. He's not young, but has tons of puppy like energy. LOVES toys and bones. Good house manners. HOWEVER, when unsupervised he should be crated or he may chew inappropriately. He was with a rescue for the last seven years and was never chosen somehow - despite his super friendly adorable personality. That rescue closed, he went to a local shelter, and knowing him personally, I had to bring him here HE DESERVES A WONDERFUL HOME. He's a hoot!
