Story
Meet Macy Macy is a beautiful, resilient mix of Australian Cattle Dog, German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, Weimaraner, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever—with a heart just as big as her impressive lineage. She came to us right before Thanksgiving as a stray with eight newborn puppies, and from the very beginning proved herself to be an exceptional, devoted mama. Calm, patient, and nurturing, Macy raised her babies diligently, and now that they are growing and finding their own homes, it’s finally Macy’s turn to be cared for and cherished. Macy is a happy, playful girl who absolutely loves to run, chase, and play. She does well with other dogs, enjoys kids, and would thrive in a home that can give her a “job,” continued training, or canine playmates—especially larger dogs who can match her energy. She is very food-motivated, doing wonderfully with potty training, and eager to learn, picking up new commands quickly with positive reinforcement. Despite her playful side, Macy is a total snuggle bug at heart. She loves being close to her people, cuddling on the couch, and sleeping in bed with you. She bonds deeply and truly wants to be wherever her humans are. Because of her past as a stray, Macy is still building confidence in the outside world. Walks and loud or unfamiliar noises—such as cars, bikes, scooters, or household items like vacuums and brooms—can be overwhelming for her. She will need a patient, understanding home committed to helping her grow more confident at her own pace through consistency, reassurance, and love. With the right family, Macy will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion. She’s smart, playful, loving, and full of potential—ready to start her next chapter with a family who will give her the stability, engagement, and affection she so deeply deserves. 🐾❤️

Story
Meet Hobart! Hobart is a handsome 5-year-old, 65-lb hound/heeler mix. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative—ready for his forever home! He’s crate trained, housebroken, e-collar trained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and gets along with most other dogs (especially larger ones). He is a loyal companion with a big, endearing personality. Hobart loves going for walks and would make an excellent adventure partner. Thanks to his e-collar training, his recall is solid, and he enjoys exploring the outdoors just as much as he loves relaxing on the couch with his people. Hobart would do best with an active individual or couple who is willing to continue providing structure, consistency, and training and would thrive in a home without kids, cats, or other small animals. Hobart’s only challenge is occasional resource guarding, but with the right environment and owners who understand his boundaries, he will flourish.

Story
Dodge is a toung, strikingly handsome Blue Heeler/Lab mix with a bright spirit to match his good looks. About one year old and weighing 43 pounds, this mostly black shiny boy has a beautiful gray-speckled chest that gives him a regal, eye-catching look. With longer legs and a slimmer build than a typical Heeler, he carries himself with confidence and athletic grace. Whatever breeds make up his DNA, one thing is certain — Dodge is sweet, playful, and incredibly smart.   Dodge’s story began in the countryside, where he arrived at a rental home alongside a female Heeler mix and their six puppies. When the family couldn’t keep dogs, a cattle dog rescue stepped in to save the puppies, the mama was rehomed, and Dodge found his way to Critter Cavalry Rescue so he could be fully vetted and matched with the perfect home. Still very much a puppy at heart, Dodge brings goofy charm, happy energy, and a love of life wherever he goes. A fenced yard and an active household will help him burn off his enthusiasm and enjoy the adventures he craves.   He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, is respectful of cats, and would likely be a hit with kids who can keep up with his playful nature. Dodge is learning leash skills quickly and would make an excellent walking partner. He’s eager to learn, quick to please, and happiest when he’s close to his people, watching over them and soaking up attention. With continued training, Dodge is going to be an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready for a fun, smart, and loyal sidekick, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Transport is available from Tennessee to the northeastern states. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 6, 2026, 11:52 pm

Story
Leo is an incredibly loyal Australian Cattle Dog mix looking for an active home! Adopted as a puppy in 2017, he's up-to-date on vaccinations and in good health. Our upcoming move with small children means we can no longer meet his needs. Leo excels off-leash—staying close and checking in regularly. On trails, he scouts ahead before returning to make sure you're following. He comes immediately when called and is a true "velcro dog" who loves affection. Leo is good with other dogs and children (note: he has a herding dog's natural nipping instinct) and is fully house-trained. His favorite activity is playing with his blue ball, which he'll chase for hours! He would thrive with someone active who can give him the exercise, companionship, and love he deserves.

Story
MAX - 6 years old, kid/cat/dog social, typical cattle dog behavior   Max is a vibrant and active boy surrendered for being too hyper and needing more room for his energy.   This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.    Reinforcing the fact that this boy is always on the move, please do some research on cattle dogs bc they, like all other breeds, have specific characteristics which may or may not align with your family's lifestyle.   Max is fun. He is the one bouncing off the walls. He is ready to go at all times.   He was silly in our shelter playgroup yard with the other dogs. He ran and chased and grabbed other dogs in his cattle dog style... always with a smile on his face!   Max is also great with children and cats.   He has some separation anxiety and is known to be destructive in the home if left alone. We recommend crating in these instances. PS He is already crate trained so there you go!   If you have done your research on the breed and feel Max would fit in perfectly with you and your family, come on in to meet him!  He is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2025, 9:42 am

Story
PICKETT Pickett was born in 2015. He is about 45 pounds, mostly black. He is a mystery mix. LOVES EVERYONE! He gets along with all people - he's a hugger and kisser Loves other dogs - moderately playful. He does try to hump the first time meeting, but is easily corrected. Loves cats. Great on the leash. And in the car. He's not young, but has tons of puppy like energy. LOVES toys and bones. Good house manners. HOWEVER, when unsupervised he should be crated or he may chew inappropriately. He was with a rescue for the last seven years and was never chosen somehow - despite his super friendly adorable personality. That rescue closed, he went to a local shelter, and knowing him personally, I had to bring him here HE DESERVES A WONDERFUL HOME. He's a hoot! Story
Can be around other dogs in play areas just not in a home togther. Due to ongoing compatibility issues between him and my fiancee, they are unable to comfortably live together. He is reactive and defensive due to anxiety but is not aggressive. He has never bitten or attempted to bite anyone. When scared, he may cower, bark, or growl as a warning response. He previously lived on a farm and was rehomed when his former owners moved overseas. I believe these transitions have contributed to his anxiety. He is a gentle dog, very well trained, and originally rescued from a puppy mill. I am his third owner and have had him the longest. He is healthy, fully vetted, and up to date on all vaccinations, with paperwork available. I am willing to transport him and help financially with his care. This is not a decision made lightly; I am not looking to dump him, but to find a patient, understanding home that can meet his needs. He is great on walks and car rides, and is on anxiety meds. roughly 8.
