Story
Barnaby is a young 7 month old pup that catches your eye and also your heart when you first meet him.  He is a wonderful young boy that weighs 34 pounds and should become a handsome adult dog that will weigh in the range of 50 pounds as an adult.  His life started with great hope but eventually the people who adopted this cute pup became cold hearted and treated him with physical hits and loud voices when he was not the perfect puppy.  A neighbor intervened and begged Critter Cavalry Rescue to take this young and innocent pup in to our program.  Barnaby escaped years of emotional and physical abuse.  He is such a bright and happy spirit that just needs some time to get his mind wrapped around the love that is being offered to him now.  No loud voices and the forgiveness when he is NOT perfect.  He is so nice and submissive and humble in spirit.  He just wants to be accepted and have fun with other dogs and maybe become good friends with a cat if needed.   His breed is more of a Shepherd/Heeler mix and we just adore his strong black and tan coat that is crowned with the best standup ears ever!   His face pleads with you to be happy with him and to be his FRIEND.  Can you imagine all these past months how sad it was not to feel love?  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that there is a caring family, person,  young couple or empty nesters who just want to pour their love for a dog in need upon a boy like Barnaby.  He is neutered, had all his necessary shots, microchipped, healthy and truly not emotionally damaged.  He just needs that promise of kindness, steady guidance in gentle voices and love.   Love heals everything and makes us forget when love wasn't there in the past.  Barnaby will be a smart and easy dog to polish into a phenomenal companion influence in your daily life.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 12, 2026, 12:57 pm

Story
Baron was born March 12, 2025 in Hampton. My roommate ended up not fixing either of his dogs, so there was a litter of nine I ended up taking care of; then my husband and I ended up keeping two. We’re first time puppy owners, and I’m the primary caretaker, but I have pretty intense back problems. Now we have separated, and each kept one dog.Baron is very rambunctious and highly food-motivated; he’s also very sweet and loves to snuggle. He is crate-trained, and knows a few basic commands, as well as a few others such as “gentle” and “off.”I thought I would be able to take care of him properly if I only had him to focus on, but unfortunately, that is not the case. He is very strong, very protective, and extremely reactive. He really is very sweet and very smart; he picks up training very quickly. I just don’t have the resources, time, or energy to properly train him.

Story
Meet Cody, a brilliant 5-year-old soul who is ready to be your most loyal companion! Born on February 15th, this healthy boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and sensitive sweetness. Cody is a true "people dog"—he thrives on companionship and loves everyone he meets, especially children. If you’re looking for a smart partner, Cody is your guy; he’s a hide-and-seek champion and knows an impressive list of commands, from "Shake" to "Wait." Cody is located in Virginia Beach, VA  while waiting to leave for his forever home  Cody is neutered, up to date on shots, dewormed & also microchipped. His microchip will be registered to his new adopter at no additional cost.  To adopt: http://petstablished.com/adoption_form/2602/generic The Adventure Partner: He lives for car rides and trips to the beach. He’s a gentleman on a leash, though he might give a playful pull when he’s excited! The Toy Enthusiast: Squeaky toys and balls are his love language. He’ll play fetch until your arm gets tired. The Work-From-Home Buddy: Cody isn't a fan of being alone for long stretches. He’d love a home where his humans are around often to give him the "no-crate" freedom he enjoys. The Sensitive Soul: He prefers a gentle touch and a calm voice. Because he was once scared of vacuums and brooms, he appreciates a patient owner who understands his sensitive side. Mealtime Manners: Cody is a "foodie" who takes his meals seriously! While he is a social butterfly in most settings, he prefers to dine solo and doesn't like to share his snacks or bowl with other dogs. He’ll be happiest in a home that can provide him a quiet, private space to enjoy his meals without any four-legged "interruptions." Cody is house-trained, knows his commands, and is simply waiting for a family who understands his quirks and loves him for the "good boy" he is. ##1213615##

Story
Taz is as stunning as he is intelligent—and he’s ready for the right person to see his full potential. Coming from a difficult past, Taz learned to protect his space, but with structure and guidance, he has proven to be an incredibly trainable and devoted companion. He’s a true cattle dog: smart, driven, and thrives with clear expectations. - Knows commands like “leave it” - Crate trained and settles well - Dog friendly—loves female dogs and can do well with the right male - Bonds deeply with his person Taz can be a bit protective during close affection time, but he responds well to redirection with a confident handler. Best fit for Taz: • Experienced, breed-savvy home • Structured environment with clear boundaries • Home willing to continue guiding him through resource guarding behaviors • Dog companion (ideally female or easygoing male) Taz is not a beginner dog—but for the right person, he is an incredibly loyal and once-in-a-lifetime companion. After living alone in an outdoor kennel, Taz now has a chance at a real life—and we’re determined to get it right.

Story
🐶 Bowser Bowser is a high-energy intelligent boy who thrives when h the center of attention. He loves people and is incredibly sweet. He enjoys outdoor adventures playtime butt rubs and being with someone who matches his energy. He is about 3 years old Australian Shepherd mix and about 60 pounds. Fully vaccinated, neutered and healthy! Ideal Home: Active individual or family Dog-savvy owner who can provide structure and exercise Could always use some training. 💕 does pull on a leash a bit but using a gentle leader really helps. Does well with babies but gets a little nervous and growly around screaming toddlers... but it was a one-time incident and he was around his sibling and can be a bit of a bully to her. Would do very well with older children. Bowser struggles with other dogs due to littermate syndrome and wants to be the alpha. He would do best in a home where he can be the only pet and receive consistent attention and training.
