Story
Meet Hershey, a two-and-a-half-year-old Cattle Dog/Kelpie mix weighing around 65 pounds.Hershey is pure joy on four legs! This friendly, outgoing boy loves everyone he meets and can turn any moment into a celebration with his wiggly body and goofy antics. He’s enthusiastic, playful, and always ready for attention—especially if it comes with pets, scratches, or belly rubs.Hershey did have his tail docked due to “happy tail,” but it hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He still wiggles with excitement for every person, every toy, and every new adventure. His happiness is truly contagious! He has also met other dogs while with us and done very well, enjoying playing with them and doing zoomies. This chocolate-colored bundle of fun is full of energy, love, and silly charm. He already knows “sit” and “down,” is very treat-motivated, and is both smart and eager to keep learning. With his zest for life, he’d thrive in a home that can give him plenty of playtime, interaction, and continued positive training.Hershey’s mission in life is simple: make you laugh, soak up your love, and bring nonstop happiness to your days. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion, Hershey is ready to be your perfect partner-in-fun.This pet is available for adoption on 2/20/2026 at 11:20 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Callie is a sweet girl who gets along with other dogs. She is a talker. When she chases she barks with joy. She does love hugs and jumping up. Callie did have a case of happy tail that caused her tail to get an infection, so she is on antibiotics. Would have to be very careful when kenneling her because she could injure it again. would prefer not to be mothered, does better with male dogs

Story
Meet Macie, a seven month old Cattle Dog/German Shepherd mix with a little Husky possibly splashed in there. Macie is a sweet, gentle girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. At 33 pounds, she’s a great medium size—easy to handle and the perfect fit for lots of different homes.Right now, Macie is a bit unsure and can be shy in new situations, especially when it comes to leash walking, as she doesn’t appear to be fully leash trained yet. With patience, encouragement, and a calm routine, she has all the potential to blossom into a confident companion. What Macie really needs is some TLC and a family willing to go slow with her as she builds trust. She isn’t asking for much—just kindness, stability, and someone who will help her feel safe as she learns what it means to be a loved pet. With time and gentle guidance, we believe Macie will shine and show her sweet personality more each day. This pet is available for adoption on 6/6/2026 1:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
