Story
Chase is a unique and loyal cattle dog boxer mutt with an estimated birthdate of 12/13/2022. He came to the Mission during a medical crisis in which his family had run out of funds and options to care for him. He is embark tested and his results are available here:  https://app.embarkvet.com/pet/bf137c5f-bce9-4841-91a7-41c3f1bb71b1/about?source=share Chase has been with the Mission for well over a year, and he's predictably wobbly with a yearning in his funky little heart for a home with one or two people, no other dogs, and no special expectations other than just hanging out and taking naps. Chase doesn't need to go everywhere and do everything. He can, and frankly wants to just be present at home and when company visits, he would prefer to go in his crate and be left out of the action. He's a man of simple means.  Chase comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. His adoption fee is $0 due to his length of stay, and includes a sample of the food he's been eating, a leash, collar, and ID tag. To be considered to adopt Chase, please visit www.murcismission.org and send in an application.  Thank you for checking out our boy! ##1824775##

Story
Meet Nala 🐾 Nala is a truly good girl who is ready for her fresh start. She lives to play fetch and would happily chase a ball as long as you’re willing to throw it. She’s also house-trained and does well with cats, making her an easy companion in many homes. Nala was originally owner surrendered on 3/29/25, with no notes provided on why. Since then, she’s unfortunately experienced a lot of change—she’s been adopted and returned four times. One return was due to a move, one was not noted, one because she was nervous around men, and the last due to a tiff with another dog in the home. That’s a lot of transitions for any dog, and despite it all, Nala remains a sweet, loving girl who deserves stability and understanding. She may do best in a home that can go slow, help her build confidence, and set her up for long-term success. Nala has moved around a lot—but she’s ready to try again, and this time, she’s hoping it’s forever 💕

Story
Meet Brownie! 🐾 Brownie is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever met at SpokAnimal. She’s a little nervous and shy at first, but she gets comfy pretty easily and loves to jump up politely for snuggles once she’s comfortable. On walks, she’s very easy on the leash and responds well to basic commands. Brownie was transferred in from another shelter here in Washington. She has shown a habit of chewing on blankets and stuffed toys, which may just be a response to the shelter environment—this could change in a home setting, but it’s something to keep an eye on. This gentle girl is ready for a patient, loving home where she can feel safe, confident, and shower her humans with affection. Come meet Brownie and see her heart for yourself!

Story
Meet Junior! 🐾 Junior is a very smart, enthusiastic boy who’s just so excited to get out and go! Because of his big energy, he doesn’t always present his best self in the kennel—but don’t let that fool you. Underneath that excitement is a good, clever dog who wants to work with you. Junior is good with other dogs, making him a great potential companion for a home with canine friends. He has no known history with cats or children at this time. Junior knows the cue “Wait” and does great when it’s practiced before entering his kennel and while leashing up. Using “Wait” at each door and gate helps him stay focused and sets him up for success. Once he’s out of the kennel, Junior may jump a bit out of excitement, but after he’s outside, he settles nicely and becomes a great leash walker who’s easy to handle. If he gets distracted, simple 180 turns help regain his attention. He’s very treat motivated and responds well to a calm “Ah!” if he starts to pull. Junior will thrive with someone who appreciates his intelligence, enjoys practicing basic training, and can help him channel his excitement in positive ways. With consistency and patience, this clever boy is going to shine 💙

Story
Meet Ruby 💎 — Your Adventure Buddy in the Making Ruby is a bright, playful heeler mix with a loving soul and a lot of heart. She enjoys walks, playtime, and bonding with her favorite people. Once she knows you, Ruby is incredibly loyal and affectionate — the kind of dog who wants to be your dog. Like many sensitive pups, Ruby can be shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a devoted companion. She’s looking for a calm, adult-focused home where she can feel secure and continue building confidence at her own pace. Ruby would thrive in a home without cats or small children and with someone who appreciates her intelligent, loyal nature. To help set everyone up for success, Ruby’s adoption includes two one-hour training sessions to support her transition and help her settle comfortably into her new routine. If you’re searching for a dog who will form a deep bond and be your faithful sidekick, Ruby may be the perfect match. 📲 To learn more or meet Ruby, please text her foster parent, Allison, at 509-434-6021.

Story
Zuko is a mini–Australian Shepherd and 5 years old. He's loving, active, intelligent, and has a lot of personality. Though, he is also very anxious. He requires attention that I can no longer provide due to my spouse's and mine's work schedule. His vices include a heavy reaction to other dogs and loud noises (e.g. vacuums) and has historically bitten due to this. Thus, I cannot recommend that he's rehomed to a situation with other pets or children (he has lived with cats before though that has not been the case for 2 years). He has also developed separation anxiety and has a tendency to take the anxiety out on furniture. However, with the right situation he's a treat care for as he's very trainable and loves to play. I have cared for him since he was a puppy and is current with his vaccinations. My goal is to find a home that can support a healthy lifestyle for him and has the experience to further his development in good habits, while correcting the bad ones.

Story
Scooby’s original name was Chance. He was born 9/18/2017 and was surrendered by his original owners on 8/19/2018 due to aggression toward other animals. I adopted Scooby on 8/23/2018 after building a new house and he was an only dog for several years. He loves people and is very loyal. He’s never been aggressive toward people, but I’ve rehomed 2 other dogs after trying to find him a sidekick. For whatever reason he just doesn’t get along with other animals. He loves to run and play.
