Story
Meet Misty! Misty came to CCHS towards the middle of October from a local farm. She was living with an Amish family who decided to move and didn't want to take her along. Misty is, well, a chunk. Normally a Heeler mix is 40-50 #. Misty weighs 83#. At only 1 1/2 years of age, this is just really overweight for her. Misty is a pretty girl with a short-haired coat that is blue and red merle with some black highlights. She has had a lot of adjustments coming to the Shelter from an Amish farm. And given her size, if she doesn't want to go somewhere, she doesn't. But she is learning that everybody here at the Shelter is really nice and we all just want to help her. Misty would benefit from a quiet and patient furever home that can meet her where she is at with a gentle, loving touch. She also needs to find a new family that understands the importance of weight management! With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Misty today! You can go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!

Meet Harvey! Harvey came to CCHS from a local farm earlier this August. This handsome Heeler mix is just about a year old and weighs roughly 41.6lbs currently. Harvey is a shining pup with a smile to match! He is as sweet as can be, though he can start out a little timid at times. Harvey is a smart guy, just waiting to figure out all of life's puzzles and snufflemats! He would benefit from an active furever home that can help burn some of that remaining puppy energy! While we aren't entirely certain what his exact breed makeup is, we can tell you he is 100% your newest front seat co-pilot! With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Harvey today! You can go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Story
Meet Sully (fka Watson)! Sully originally came to CCHS with his brother, Sherlock, earlier this February from a local farm. He was adopted out shortly after that and brought back this August as the kiddos in his home gave him quite the anxiety. This Heeler mix is about 8 months old and weighs 31.2lbs currently. Sully is a naturally inquisitive pup that always seems to have his nose to the ground! He is always seeking out a new adventure and would love to share his next one with you! Because of the high stress he experienced being surrounded by a multitude of small children in his first home, Sully would do better in a home with older kids that can be more mindful of his space. While we aren't entirely sure what his exact breed makeup is, we can tell you he is 100% your newest sidekick! With any puppy, training and socialization are incredibly important to the pup. Apply for Sully today!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $250.
