Story
Hi, I’m Nyla — A Sweet Soul Ready to Win Your Heart Hello there, kind human! My name is Nyla, and I’m so happy you stopped to read about me. I’m a bright eyed, joyful girl with a gentle heart, a playful spirit, and a whole lot of love waiting for the right family. Let me tell you a little about myself. I came from Yuma, where I was picked up as a stray, so my early story is a bit of a mystery. I don’t know where I lived before or what my life looked like, but what I do know is that I’m safe now and ready for a fresh start. These days, I’m staying at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’ll remain until my forever family finds me. My name, Nyla, is pretty special. It comes from Arabic origins and means “one who succeeds” or “winner.” Some people also connect it to the calm, life giving flow of the Nile River. I think that fits me beautifully. I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve come out the other side with a kind heart, a playful spirit, and a joyful love of life. I may not know my past, but I’m definitely winning at my future. Based on my looks, my humans guess I’m a shepherd mix, possibly with a hint of Doberman or Kelpie. I’ve got long legs, a sleek coat, and the CUTEST ears you’ll ever see. They try so hard to stand straight up, but instead they point a little sideways and the tips flop over, giving me a permanently curious and sweet expression. And then there’s my short little tail—I might have been born this way, or maybe something happened before anyone knew me. Either way, it doesn’t slow me down at all. Personality wise, I’m very sweet, friendly, and genuinely happy to be alive. I love meeting new people and greeting them with bright eyes and an enthusiastic hello. Because I’m a fairly excitable girl, I might get a little too excited around really small children, especially if they’re not used to large dogs—but with kids who already understand dog manners, I think we could do just fine. When it comes to other dogs, I’m all about positive vibes. I don’t enjoy dogs who are too overbearing or pushy. I just want to be friends—run, chase each other, play, and enjoy being alive together. If you have a dog who’s friendly and respectful, there’s a good chance we’d get along great. I’m not sure how I feel about cats, since I haven’t met any yet, and I don’t know if I’ve ever lived inside a real home before. That means I might need some patience while learning house life—but I’m eager, smart, and ready to learn what it means to be part of a family. Here’s some good news: I’m already spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and microchipped, so I’ll always be able to find my way home—especially once that home is yours. If you’re looking for a sweet, lively companion with a gentle heart, joyful personality, and ears that can’t quite decide what they’re doing, I might just be your girl. I’m ready to succeed at the most important thing of all—finding my forever family. To meet me, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be right here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, tail wiggling, ears flopping, and heart wide open. Love, Nyla   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
Hi there, I'm Ruby—and I'm ready to love you forever. I’m about 2 years old, a mixed breed girl with a heart full of snuggles and a nose that’s always ready for kisses. Life hasn’t always been easy—I was found wandering the streets with my brother Rusty, scared and unsure of the world. But then we landed at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and wow… they gave us love, safety, and belly rubs. Total game-changer. I’ve had a couple of homes since then. The first one was lovely, but there was a little dog there who just didn’t vibe with me. Same thing happened in the second home. So now I’m back at the rescue, hoping third time’s the charm. This time, I’m asking for a home with no little dogs, please. I get along great with people and big dogs—I just need a space where I can be my best self. &#226&#156&#168 Here’s what I bring to the table: I’m spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all my shots I walk like a pro on leash and I’m house trained I’m super smart and love learning new things I’m obsessed with squeaky toys, tasty treats, and cozy dog beds I’ve got a gorgeous reddish coat, white-tipped toes, a sweet red nose, and eyes that’ll melt your heart. I weigh around 40–50 pounds and while no one knows exactly what breeds are in my mix, I’ve heard whispers of Australian shepherd and red nose Staffordshire terrier. Honestly? I’m just Ruby. One of a kind. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and slightly goofy best friend, I’m your girl. I promise to make you laugh, keep you company, and love you with everything I’ve got. Come meet me at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. Just email mike@caaronline.org to set up a visit. I’ll be waiting—with tail wags and hopeful eyes. Story
2 years old | Cattle Dog mix | 30 lbs | Adventure buddy + couch companion Hi there! I’m Debbie — your future best friend, walking partner, and movie-night snuggle expert. I’m smart, friendly, curious, and always ready to see what fun the day brings. When I first arrived at the shelter, I had an unsteady, wobbly walk that worried everyone. The vet believes I was born this way, and the good news is that it is not progressive and will not get worse. I’m otherwise healthy, happy, and living my best life! I used a wheelchair briefly at first while I built strength, but guess what? I don’t need it anymore — not at all! Thanks to foster care, love, and time, I now walk completely on my own. I can walk, run, jump, and keep up just fine. I may wobble a little, but that’s just part of my charm. ‍&#226&#153&#128&#239&#184&#143&#226&#156&#168 I don’t have any special needs — just a big personality and an even bigger heart. I love people (kids included!) and enjoy being the center of attention, so I’d prefer to be the queen of my castle as your one and only. I like other dogs, but I really shine when I have my space and my humans all to myself. I’m looking for a home that wants adventures and cozy nights in — someone who sees my wobble and thinks, “Yep, that’s my girl.” If you’re ready for a loyal, joyful companion who’s overcome a lot and is excited for what’s next, I’m ready to meet you.   As always, we encourage a trial run before adoption, so you’ll have the opportunity to make sure Debbie is the perfect fit for your home and lifestyle. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving companion who has overcome the odds and still greets each day with enthusiasm, Debbie may be your girl. All Cooper’s Chance adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, de-wormed, micro chipped and housebroken. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit our website at cooperschance.org for additional information. We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.January 8, 2026, 5:46 pm
