MEET BUTTERS!!! MEET  BUTTERS!!! Butters is a super sweet 8 year old mix.  He is already fully housebroken AND crate trained. Butters is a bit shy at first, but warms up with time.  He loves long walks where he can enjoy all the sights and smells of the neighborhood.  He is also very treat motivated, which helps with his training.   Butters is great with other dogs, and is currently residing in a home with THREE canine siblings.  He would LOVE another buddy to play with in his new home!  He has not been exposed to cats, however, he is non-reactive when seeing them on walks.  Looking for a perfect older, quiet, well behaved chill companion?  Come meet Butters! Story
I may be blind, but that doesn`t stop me from getting around! I`m an energetic young girl who loves to play (my favorite toys squeak)!Even though I`ve learned to walk on the leash at the shelter, I would do best having my own fenced in yard where I can safely go outside. I seem to get along with other dogs, but since I can`t see them, I get easily startled and need a slow introduction with any other dogs. I also seem to prefer respectful dogs that don`t get in my face. Since I get startled easily, I would do best in an adult home with no young children though I might be okay with older kids.

Story
URGENT!  Looking for an "easy" dog? How about two? Iggy and Marley have been waiting for years?  Dog and Kid Friendly. Cats tolerated. Iggy and Marley are a lovable duo. They are extremely easy and low maintenance. Iggy is super content to stay in his den most of the time. Marley is social, affectionate and eager to please. He walks so well on a leash that even a 6 yr old can manage him. Iggy is shy until he feels safe. Then he loves chin scratches and belly rubs. They will alert you to any unusual activity. They get along well with, and enjoy, other dogs with a slow introduction. They have lived with cats, however they will chase them. located in AZ! April 16, 2024, 12:03 am

Story
🌟 Meet Kydden, the bundle of energy with a heart full of love! 🐾 Affectionately known as Kiddin', this gorgeous six-year-old girl is on the lookout for her forever home, and she's got a personality as vibrant as her spirit. Kydden is a people enthusiast, spreading joy to everyone she meets. With her high energy levels, she's searching for an active family to keep up with her zest for life. While she's a love bug, her exuberance might be a bit much for tiny tots, so a home without small children is recommended. This spirited pup marches to the beat of her own drum and prefers to be the solo star in the canine show. Dog reactive but kitty-friendly, Kydden's looking for a forever home where she can shine without sharing the spotlight. Smarty pants alert! Kydden aced her obedience training, although the distractions from other pups didn't earn her valedictorian status. A strong pack leader is just what she needs to help her stay focused and on the right track. Kydden has battled anxiety, but with patience, love, and a dash of training, she's made incredible strides. She's been a trooper in boarding and kennel situations, proving she's ready for a loving home where she can truly flourish. While her stance on swimming is uncertain, she's been known to enjoy a refreshing dip in the doggie pool—a true tropical pup at heart! If you're ready for a lively companion who's equal parts fun and affection, Kydden is your girl. Email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to see if you're the perfect match for this wonderful, energetic sweetheart! 🐶💖

Story
Meet Yo-Yo.. aka Goat! He was 1 of the 8 dogs that was lucky enough to fly to the US from Costa Rica to get a new chance at life. Yo-Yo is left with neurological issues per the Costa Rica sanctuary that he came from. You can see this when he walks. His name fits his personality perfectly! He acts like a goat nibbling on everything. He is a goof ball who's extremely loveable. He does great with all the dogs he is with in his foster home and his great with the  kids in the home. He loves to snuggle blankets and his peanut butter kongs! We suggest a home with kids older than 8 because he can at times resource guard his bones and food.  Yo-Yo has incontinence so he does wear a belly band in his foster home. He does not usually have an issue and maybe has 2-3 small spots a day if the band is off.  We believe him to be a cattle dog mix who deserves a very special home of his own!  If you are interested in Yo-Yo, please fill out an application. A meet/greet and home check is required. His adoption fee is $250.April 25, 2024, 4:47 am

Story
Snowflake is a 4-1/2 year old Cattledog blend who joined us recently due to circumstances beyond her control. She's an active girl and is looking for a family who would love to take her on hikes and walks! Snowflake loves to eat and loves food! She doesn't like to share her food with other dogs so she'll do best as your only canine companion, and will do best in a feline-free home. She is a big fan of the game of fetch, and knows basic commands. Snowflake is very treat motivated and excels with treat puzzles. She is an excellent passenger and enjoys going for rides. Snowflake is staying in a foster home and waiting to meet you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
