Story
Meet Hockley! This sweet guy has a quite a story to tell. He originally came to Colorado around four years ago — his owner had passed away in the home with Hockley in there. He was transferred to the Alliance to be treated for heartworm and adopted once clear. Hockley was hiding a bad habit, the habit of running and never looking back! After two separate five week long escapes, Hockley finished his heartworm treatment and was adopted into a loving home after being recaptured. In his new home, no more escapes thanks to being appropriately leashed (harness, collar and waist leash). Hockley has found himself back in need of a home without babies or small children (due to the chance of them leaving a gate or door open). He does well with other dogs and seems to ignore cats! He is funny, cuddly and a 10/10 on the cute scale. To top it all of? He is also house trained. Hockley is entering his middle aged years and with a life story that could fill a book, could you help him write his new chapter? Ask about this fluffy boy, today!

Story
"Four years ago, there was a little pup that fought for her life all alone on the side of the road while humans all around her evacuated due to Hurricane Ida. A passerby saw her and scooped her up, which surely saved her life. Having been a long time volunteer in animal rescue, her rescuer brought her home to CO and then reached out to MHCR for help. It didn’t take long for sweet, little, Roo’s dreams to come true. A wonderful family adopted her. Unfortunately, during the last couple of years, Roo, now known as Mara, began to not enjoy living with the other dog in the home. Right before the holidays, she found herself without her family, and without her home. Mara is now around 4.5-5 years old. She’s in need of an adoptive home as the only dog. Until then, she awaits her forever in a loving foster home. Mara is overweight, but once she sheds a few lbs she will fit into the medium/large category size. She’s house trained, crate trained, and trustworthy free roam. Here’s what her family said about her, and undoubtedly what she misses the most: “Mara loves cuddling more than anything. She mostly enjoys cuddling on the couch in your “pocket” (in between your legs). She will bury her head underneath pillows and blankets, and if she is able to sleep in the bed, then she will bury herself under the covers and snuggle up next to you in the cold months. She loves playing frisbee, tug of war, fetch with balls and sticks, and catching snowballs!” We’ve found Mara to be just as wonderful as her prior family did. She is playful, yet not high energy. She loves to catch balls and kill stuffies. She loves to take walks where she can leisurely explore and smell all the wonderful smells. She LOVES the snow and enjoys catching snowballs mid-air. She rides well in the car, jumps in on her own accord, and happily greets strangers. Mara’s favorite part of every day is when her humans spend time with her. She loves to snuggle yet isn’t needy and annoying about it. She is truly a turnkey dog that would make a wonderful addition to any home that’s not interested in puppy antics. The cold months are upon us. Can you help us warm Mara’s heart?" Mara Jade is being fostered in Denver, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mara-jade/. All Aboard!!! Animal Rescue Passenger Tinkerbell Waiting for a Forever Home! ADOPTION FEE: $550 Meet Tinkerbell: This adorable girl is ready for her forever home! From Tinkerbell’s foster, “i had such an amazing time getting to foster tinkerbelle. she’s such a love bug and loves to snuggle and play. when she’s playing she can be a bit hyper but it’s easy to give her a bone or toy to distract her and calm her down, plus she’s super fun to play with if you are looking for that! she likes to mouth a bit because of her breed but if you just give her a toy or bone she’ll get completely distracted. she also loves to bury her bones so be warned if she brings it outside you may never see it again lol🤣 but the cutest thing ever is when she tries to bury a bone in the couch- she seems so proud of herself and the bone almost every time is completely visible it’s hilarious. every time i come home she gets beyond excited to see me and spends an entire 10 minutes just circling me and wagging her tail before she even goes to the bathroom or grabs a toy it’s so cute. you can tell she loves attention and she loves to be loved. she is such a little cutie and i am praying every day that she finds a home that loves her the way she should be!!” Meet - https://youtube.com/shorts/0qkKZe0xxyI?feature=share Interested in this furry companion? All Aboard!!! Animal Rescue Passenger Cheyenne Waiting for a Forever Home! ADOPTION FEE: $450 Meet Cheyenne: This sweet mama is mom to 9 adorable little puppies! Weighing 47 pounds, Cheyenne came to the shelter after her owners could no longer care for her and her nine babies. After giving so much of herself as a devoted mama, she is finally ready to retire from motherhood and focus on enjoying life for herself. Cheyenne dreams of the simple pleasures she has always missed out on. Scenic views, sharing snacks with her favorite humans, being a loved indoor dog, curling up on a cozy bed of her own, and having a safe, warm, and loving place to call home. She is a quiet, dainty girl with a gentle soul and so much love to give once she feels safe. She is low energy, calm, and easy going, with a sweet personality that shines brighter each day. Cheyenne is learning leash confidence and gaining trust in the world around her at her own pace. With other dogs, she is submissive, gentle, and affectionate, often greeting them with soft kisses. She would truly thrive in a home with other dogs who can continue to help her build confidence and feel secure. Cheyenne is learning what it means to love and be loved through the kindness of shelter staff, but she is more than ready to experience that love in a forever home. She is gaining confidence every day and blossoming into the wonderful companion she was always meant to be. Cheyenne is ready for a new chapter filled with comfort, kindness, and quiet joy. All she needs is someone willing to give her the chance she has always deserved. Interested in this furry companion?
