Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Meet Lumi ☀️ Male DOB: 2/23/2026  Weight: 24 pounds Breed: Australian Kelpie / Carolina Dog Mix Neutered (Fixed): Pending (Age-Appropriate) Vaccines: Current for Age (Puppy Vaccine Series Ongoing) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Lumi's story began with a second chance. At just a few months old, he was found wandering the streets alone, searching for food, water, and somewhere safe to sleep. With no family to protect him and no one coming to claim him, this young puppy was left to survive on his own. Thankfully, kind rescuers brought him to Ozzie and Friends Rescue, where he finally experienced a full belly, a warm bed, and the love every puppy deserves. What's truly remarkable about Lumi is that his difficult beginning never stole his joyful spirit. From the day he arrived, his tail has never stopped wagging. He greets every person like an old friend and approaches life with excitement, curiosity, and endless optimism. Lumi is a playful, affectionate puppy who absolutely loves making new friends—both human and canine. He has a silly, adventurous personality and is always ready for the next game of fetch. Toss a ball, and you'll have his full attention! When he's not chasing toys, you'll probably find him splashing in the water. Whether it's a kiddie pool, a lake, or simply bath time, Lumi thinks getting wet is one of life's greatest adventures. As an Australian Kelpie / Carolina Dog Mix, Lumi is expected to grow into an intelligent, athletic, and deeply loyal companion. Australian Kelpies are known for their exceptional intelligence, eagerness to learn, and love of having a job to do, while Carolina Dogs are admired for their adaptability, curiosity, and strong bonds with their families. Together, these breeds create a dog that thrives with an active lifestyle, positive training, and plenty of mental stimulation. Lumi would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily walks, exercise, and outdoor adventures Games of fetch and interactive play Swimming or water play whenever possible Positive reinforcement training Puzzle toys and activities that challenge his mind Continued socialization with people and other dogs Structure, consistency, and routine A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Lumi has already proven how resilient he is. Now he's simply waiting for the family who will show him that he'll never have to face the world alone again. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like all puppies, Lumi is still learning about the world around him. His adopter should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, teething, occasional accidents, and testing boundaries as he grows. Because Lumi comes from two highly intelligent and active breeds, early training and continued enrichment will be especially important. He learns quickly and enjoys engaging with people, making him an excellent candidate for obedience training, hiking adventures, scent games, and interactive activities that keep both his body and mind busy. Lumi will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training House-training and a consistent daily routine Daily exercise and supervised play Continued socialization with people, dogs, and new environments Mental enrichment through puzzle toys, scent games, and training Patience, consistency, and encouragement Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With love, guidance, and patience, Lumi will grow into an incredible companion who will reward his family with unwavering loyalty and endless affection. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, companionship, and routine veterinary care. Lumi will need: Completion of his puppy vaccine schedule and routine wellness examinations Neutering when age-appropriate if not already completed Preventative flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite protection Proper nutrition to support healthy growth Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment Continued obedience training and socialization A safe, stable indoor living environment Because Lumi is still growing, strenuous repetitive exercise and excessive jumping should be limited until his joints have fully developed. His family should work closely with their veterinarian to ensure he receives the proper nutrition and preventative care needed throughout puppyhood. Lumi is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. This is dash! He is a 7 year old blue heeler husky. I’ve had him since he was a pup, but due to unforeseen circumstances I can no longer keep him. Dash is a good dog who has been around kids his whole life. He best friends are two little humans. He can be nervous around new people at first, but he warms up once he gets to know you. He will follow you everywhere, cuddle and stay by your side. He loves adventures and would do anything you ask. He has a lot of energy and loves to stay active. He can be food-aggressive with other dogs (including around human food), he would need someone experienced in managing that behavior.

Story
Mira is a bright, playful, affectionate puppy with a wonderfully balanced personality. She is confident without being pushy, curious and eager to learn, and increasingly affectionate while still enjoying a little independence. Mira loves being part of family life. She happily investigates household chores, plays with kids, explores the yard, and curls up beside her people for a nap. She loves belly rubs, her Kong, chasing games, and wading in the kiddie pool on warm days. She also enjoys car rides and is doing great learning to walk on a leash. Mira is a quick learner who mastered “sit” on her first day and is doing beautifully with house training and nighttime crate training. She has plenty of puppy energy but also knows how to settle down when the fun is over. Mira is a curious, resilient little pup who seems genuinely delighted by everything she is discovering about family life. She would thrive with a family ready to continue her training, provide plenty of play and adventure, and help her grow into the wonderful companion she is already becoming.
