Story
Please meet Azalea, a 4.5 month old Australian Shepherd! This 25 pound, dog-friendly buddy is proving to be pretty chill for a puppy! He loves to watch other dogs play while occasionally joining the fun, but he especially loves to be on the couch getting attention from the humans! He co-exists just fine with cats and we think he'd be okay with older, respectful children. So far, he's doing well in his pen and has been using potty pads. Next up is to start working on going to the bathroom outside! He spins when it's time for food and he looks at his trusted humans with the sweetest eyes. Azalea can be shy so he is hoping his future family will be patient while he builds confidence. Azalea also has congenital heart defects that will require ongoing monitoring for the rest of his life, so his adopter(s) will need to be prepared for keeping up with his care. He will need another echo cardiogram in 6 months for his continued monitoring. Good news, though - at this point he requires no special medication or surgery! Azalea is a very good puppy who deserves a very good life. We are rooting for him to find his future family stat so please apply if he's the pup for you! Azalea's adoption fee is $200.

Story
Meet Mountain, a charming 5-year-old female Mini Aussie weighing in at a petite 20 pounds. This lovely little lady is still acclimating to the comforts of home life, but it's clear she's enjoying every moment of it! Mountain gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people, making her a perfect companion for families or individuals looking to expand their furry family. She's making great progress with potty training and is comfortable staying in her crate when her foster parents are out or during the night. Mountain is a quiet and gentle soul who would thrive in a calm and peaceful household. If you prefer cozy nights in rather than bustling nights out, Mountain might just be the perfect dog for you! She's the type of pup who will happily curl up beside you, filling your home and heart with warmth and affection. Her loving nature and sweet disposition make her an ideal pet for anyone looking for a loyal and loving companion. Are you ready to welcome this delightful girl into your life? Mountain is eagerly waiting for a forever home where she can continue to blossom and share her boundless love. Don't miss out on the chance to adopt this wonderful Mini Aussie. Apply today and make Mountain a cherished member of your family! My adoption fee is $200

Story
Meet Panini, me! I am a sweet and snuggly girl, who loves to sit on the couch with my people on a rainy day. When it is nice and sunny outside though I love a good play session. When I am not snuggled up on the couch with you, I like to do doggy puzzles, play with my friends, and go on a sniffer. I am a huge foody (suiting right?). Some of my top picks include chicken, bread, peanut butter, pup cups, and cheese. If you are a sandwich and dog kind of person I would love to meet you! I am working on my basic manners, overcoming my fears, and making new friends. I need a slow approach to life to ensure that I can make positive associations. Don't worry, the Training Team can help set us up for success! Because Panin is a nervous gal and initially handling might be difficult for her, we are requiring a fenced-in yard so she can go in and out on her own. A household that is 16+ would be best so Panini can be the baby for as long as she needs! He would thrive in a chill household with a few people as her inner circle. My favorite things: Long lasting chews Enrichment puzzles Zooming in the hallways Sniffs outside Massages and pets (once we are friends) Any food- she is not picky! Cues that I know: Sit, down Touch Retreat! Recall Relaxation I am an All-Star dog! My adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and I will go home with my very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get us off to a good start. To learn more about me or to schedule an appointment to meet me, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Hi, I'm Chomp. Thanks for taking a look at me! I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives.
