Story
Meet Cash- your loyal companion! Cash is a rescue dog from Texas. We adopted him 5 years ago from a local shelter. We think he is about 8 years old. Cash is an amazing Australian Cattle Dog with a big heart and a smart mind! He knows lots of commands and is fully crate trained, leash trained, and house trained. Cash is incredibly loyal and protective of his family, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a devoted friend. What Cash Loves: Long walks and playing fetch Searching for hidden toys (he’s great at it!) Bagels, pup cups, and rawhide bones Snuggling on the couch and taking naps with you Despite his breed, Cash is low energy and can be left home alone without worry—he’s not a chewer! Important Notes: Cash can be reactive, so he will do best in a home without children or other dogs. He thrives in a calm environment where he can feel safe and loved. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, and affectionate dog who will be your best friend, Cash is the one!

Story
Meet Cheese – Your Big, Bold, and Cheesy Best Friend This handsome, long-legged Blue Heeler/Lab mix is as lovable as he is downright irresistible! With his striking amber eyes, charming grin, and big, goofy personality, Cheese has a way of melting hearts faster than, well… actual cheese. He’s the kind of dog who fills a room with joy just by trotting into it. Cheese is as smart as he is sweet. He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and knows all his basic cues—plus, he’s a total pro at catching treats mid-air like a canine athlete. He adores pets, toys, and soaking up snuggles from his favorite humans. But don’t be fooled by his cuddle-loving side—this boy has plenty of energy and would truly shine in an active home where he can stretch his legs, stay engaged, and enjoy plenty of playtime. When it comes to other dogs, Cheese is a bit selective and would prefer to be the only pup soaking up all the love inside the home. He’s open to having dog friends outside of the house, but he’s all about being the star of his own household stage. On leash, he’s a fabulous walker… unless a squirrel or chipmunk decides to test his self-control. Then you’ll see just how strong this big guy can be! Because of his size and enthusiasm, he’d do best in a home with kids 16 and up. Cheese dreams of a home where he gets everyone’s full attention—a place with cozy beds (preferably several!), a yard to explore, and people who appreciate his perfect mix of active adventurer and couch-loving companion. If you’ve been searching for a fun, affectionate buddy who’s equal parts goofy and loyal, Cheese is your guy—ready to bring flavor, joy, and a whole lot of heart into your home. Cheese’s Favorite Things Cheese (naturally!) Naps in cozy spots Investigating every interesting smell in his environment Cues Cheese Knows Sit Touch Down Let’s go “Who’s That?” Catch Recall Stay Cheese is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Cheese, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
