A breeding facility Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? I love all the people I've met so far! My foster mom is my fave so far. Are you good with kids? Not kids tested yet, but I would probably overwhelm a little one. Bigger would be better. What age ranges? 10+ Are you good with other dogs? I did fine getting to and from the car! Do you like toys? What's that? Lol just pet me already! What is your favorite toy? Do you know any commands/tricks? I sit on command and am learning not to jump How are your house manners? I get so excited with people I jump on them, we are working on it! Story
Name: Miss Norma Jeannie (spayed female) Age: 1-2 years old Breed: Mini Australian Shepard What was your life like before NDCB/where did you come from: I came from a home with 40 other dogs in kennels. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? My foster mom. Are you good with kids? I keep my distance with the 16 and 14 year old in the home, I am still a nervous girl. Are you good with other dogs? Yes, I have come to love my foster sisters. Jewel is an Australian Shepard (7) and Betty a mixed breed (2). We have a really rambunctious time together. Are you good with cats? Yes, I have been around 5 cats and they don’t interest me very much. Do I like car rides? I have been enjoying traveling with my foster mom to and from her office. I love looking out the windows on the way and sleeping on the way home. Do you like walks? We have gone on short walks as I am still a little nervous being followed. How are you on a leash? I am really trying my hardest to adjust to the leash. I love to chew on it and do an occasional acrobatic stunt when it’s on me. With time and patience I will enjoy it! Do you like toys? Yes I love my chew toys and love watching my foster sisters retrieve their ball. I would like to add that to my list of hobbies soon! Do you know any commands/tricks? I’m still pretty shy working on my commands. How are your house manners? I still will pace back and forth when at my home. It will improve soon. My foster mom didn’t like me crying at night so she lets me sleep in her bed, I do very well all night. I need a back yard that is fenced in so I can feel the freedom off the leash. I need lots of love and a patient human to show me truly how to be a dog.

Story
Fostered in Sioux City. Name- Tillie Age- 2 Breed- Mini Aussie What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I came from a breeder who loved me dearly but needed to find us all new homes and these amazing people from NDCB came and picked me up. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? I love my foster mommy so much. I get so excited and jump for joy everytime she leaves a room and comes back. Are you good with kids? What age ranges? Yes. I live with my foster human sister. She is 9 and she is so awesome and I adore her. Are you good with other dogs? I am. But, when I am snuggling my foster mom or dad and another dog gets close to me and tries and takes my snuggles I do get growly so this will take alot of training and patience to teach me that I can share love. Hey, do you blame me I realized how awesome people are and now I can't get enough. Are you good with cats? Yes, I live with cats at my foster home and they don't bother me. Can you explain to me why they sleep so much? Don't they want to go outside and run like I do?! Crazy kitties. Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? I've always lived outside so this is new territory for me but I'm so smart and I am learning really fast. Do you like car rides? I tolerate them but I do still get nervous. Maybe, my foster mommy is just a crazy driver?! Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? I am learning how to walk on a leash but my foster mommy says its too cold for her to take me on a walk. I told her to put her snowsuit on and take me but she looks at me like I'm crazy Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? I am learning what toys are. I've never had them before. My fur siblings in my house walk around all day squeaking them though. If I could roll my eyes I probably would at them. These dogs are crazy at my foster house... I'm not sure how my foster mommy deals with our non sense everyday but she does it. Shes the best. Do you know any commands/tricks? Right now I like to sleep in my foster mommy bed, I like to look pretty (my mommy tells me this all the time), and be treated like a princess. Oh, sorry I forgot what the question was. Back to the question... Yes, my trick is being pretty. How are your house manners? I'm learning what manners are. As I stated above I don't like to share my cuddles. I'm learning to go outside and go potty in my fenced in yard and I do come back inside by myself now. I'm a big girl now. Describe your personality- I love to walk around the house like the princess that I am, I love the color pink because hey what princess doesn't, I like to be told daily how pretty I am (this is a requirement in my forever home), I love to snuggle, play outside in the snow, and smile. I do have the perfect smile if I do say so myself. I will upload some photos of my smile so you can see it. Describe your perfect home- I would love a home that would share their king size bed with me, I will settle for a queen size if thats all you have, somebody who can give me tons of love and care, I must be spoiled rotten. I would love a pink princess bowl and maybe even a princess crown. If you can't find a pink one I'll settle for a purple. I do have longer hair in the back so I would loved to be brushed and pampered. I just want my forever home to be the best because I deserve it.

A breeding facility Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? My foster mommy but my foster dad is pretty cool too! Are you good with kids? My foster parents don’t have any kids at home but I am kinda nervous sometimes so maybe older kids would be best. What age ranges? Maybe 12 and up but who knows! Are you good with other dogs? I love other dogs - I currently live with 8 other pups at my foster parents house! Are you good with cats? Cats sound cool but I currently don’t know any. I did previously live with barn cats. Are you housebroken? Working on it but I don’t mind wearing a belly band when I’m roaming the house. I secretly think lifting my leg to potty in the house is fun but my foster parents disagree. What is your current potty routine? I stay in a nice wire crate while my FPs are at work. I’ve never had an accident in my kennel and I love going outside with my fellow pups. Do you like car rides? They make me really nervous. I need to be lifted into the car. I need a little more practice. Do you like walks? Yes but I will need a very thick and sturdy leash because I like to chew on my leash while walking. How are you on a leash? A good boy but I occasionally like to wrap the leash around my foster mom’s legs. Do you like toys? Not yet but one day I will! What is your favorite toy? My dog leash lol. Do you know any commands/tricks? I know what “outside” means. My FPs are trying to teach me new tricks but I’m easily distracted. I like treats though. How are your house manners? I’m like a bull in a china shop but at least I stay off the furniture even though my FPs try to get me on the couch! I sleep in my crate and don’t make a peep all night. Describe your personality- I love playing with my fur friends inside and outside. I get a little anxious and growly in my kennel when I see the other dogs playing without me but I’ve never hurt anyone or played rough. I’m a good boy! Describe your perfect home- a home with other dogs is my ideal home. Oh and a loving parent or two!

Story
Meet Rico, he is 8 years old and 40 lbs. (he can lose some weight)… His owner has cancer and can longer care for him so he is looking for a new place to love him through the next chapter of his life.  Rico is a handsome Aussie/Terrier mix of sorts! If he was a food order he would be ordered as one medium floof nugget, with a side of smiles- tail waggin sized, with all the dippin sauces of happiness. This guy has grins that just won‘t quit, loves him some car rides, enjoys being bribed with treats for tricks, isn’t much of a kisser, and relishes all the attention he deserves to receive. Rico is easy to love, gets along great with dogs and and kids. He walks good on leash and is housebroken and crate trained. He is a true gentleman and is ready for that special person(s) to give him his well-deserved furever home. He is waiting to meet you! Neutered, heartworm tested, recent dental, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption!  He is hit and miss with cats so a calm cat that does not do much he would have less of an issue with.  An active cat that will hiss and get in his business is not a match.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.December 29, 2025, 2:05 pm

Story
Fostered in Council Bluffs Name- Nutmeg Age- 7 months Breed- Kelpie mix What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I was found as a stray in South Sioux City. The animal shelter called the sweet people at the Rescue and asked them to take me so I wouldn’t be euthanized. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? Foster mom and dad. Are you good with kids? What age ranges?my foster home had a two year old. Kids are fun as long as they play with me! I am a high energy breed so tiny tots might be a little overwhelmed by my enthusiastic greetings but I never mean any harm. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here I’m great I love to play. Sometimes I get a little rough and need to be told to chill so I would probably be a little too much for senior dogs. But playful dogs…I am ALL IN!!! Are you good with cats? Well., I am a herding/farm breed so cats are REAL fun to chase. I probably shouldn’t be in a home with cats unless you are super dog savvy and can train me to leave them alone. As it stands, I will absolutely chase a furry kitty in the home and I might attempt to get the squeaker out 😬😬 Are you housebroken? I am doing so well in Foster! I have only had one accident inside the home and now my foster siblings have showed me to ring bells when I wanna go outside. It’s pretty cool! What is your current potty routine? I ring bells at my foster home to go outside! Do you like car rides? Yes! I love to ride! I hop right in any car however I should be seatbelted in because sometimes I try and sit in your lap while you’re driving. How was I supposed to know Mom was gonna freak out about that🤷🏻‍♀️ I just wanted to cuddle, her screaming was really unnecessary. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? What’s a leash? I’m still trying to learn. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Squeaky toys are the very best! But I also like hooves Do you know any commands/tricks? Not yet but will you teach me? I’m super smart and eager to learn. How are your house manners? I’m a bit of a bull in a china shop. I bounce and run and play but I also snuggle. Describe your personality- as I just said I Am a lot. But with some training and love I would be perfect Describe your perfect home-I definitely need a fur sibling who can match my energy. I love to play and love all dogs. I would love a home with an active family member. I would be a great running partner or hiking buddy! I currently sleep in bed with my foster parents and would love to continue that. I’m not a bed hog. I go right to the bottom of the bed and go to sleep.

Story
Say hello to Toby (b. 8/2015) an Australian Kelpie x Belgian Shepherd mix, who is looking for his FURever home! This shy guy is a complete ladies' man and does better around women more so than men. Toby requires a slow introduction to new people as he gets very shy. He would shine brightest in a home where he can be the center of attention so no kids or other pets, please. Once Toby gets to know you he is the biggest cuddler there is and just wants to love on his human. So ladies' who is ready for their night in shining fur? Appy to adopt Toby today! The suggested adoption donation for Toby is $265. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Toby are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.   ##1489993##

Adoptions for Pepper are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that she can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. The suggested adoption donation for Pepper is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based  training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster.  This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their  pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is  unavailable for adoption.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster  to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The  adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive  family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal  reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We  always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are  not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file  for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at  MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue  Inc.  ##2514098##
