At only seven weeks old, she was found starving and completely alone, struggling to survive without the comfort and protection every puppy deserves. Far too young to be on her own, she was hungry, frightened, and desperately in need of someone to help her. Thankfully, compassionate rescuers found her just in time and gave her the chance to begin a new life. Now safe in rescue, Hazelnut is proving that love can heal even the smallest hearts. She's a happy, affectionate little puppy who greets every day with curiosity and excitement. Her tail is always wagging, and she loves exploring new places, playing with toys, and soaking up every bit of attention she can get. Hazelnut has a gentle, loving personality and enjoys cuddling just as much as she enjoys playtime. Whether she's chasing after a toy, following you around the house, or curling up in your lap for a nap, she simply wants to be close to the people she loves. As an Australian Kelpie Mix, Hazelnut is expected to grow into an intelligent, loyal, and active companion. Kelpies are known for their eagerness to learn, devotion to their families, and athletic nature. With early training and continued socialization, Hazelnut has all the potential to become an amazing lifelong companion. Hazelnut would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Positive reinforcement training Daily exercise appropriate for her age Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization with people and other dogs A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where she's treated as part of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Hazelnut has already overcome a heartbreaking beginning. Now she's looking for a family who will make sure she never feels alone again. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like all young puppies, Hazelnut is just beginning to learn about the world around her. Her new family should expect normal puppy behaviors, including chewing, teething, house-training, and lots of playful curiosity. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Hazelnut will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training House-training and consistent routines Puppy-safe exercise and supervised play Continued socialization Mental enrichment through toys and games Plenty of patience, love, and encouragement With gentle guidance, Hazelnut will blossom into a confident, loyal, and loving companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, veterinary care, exercise, and companionship. Hazelnut will need: Completion of her puppy vaccination schedule Spaying when age-appropriate Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A nutritious diet for healthy growth Daily exercise appropriate for her age Continued obedience training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Hazelnut continues to thrive.
