Story
Here is a dog you won’t have to “figure out,” she is practically a cliche version of good dog. Easy company, fun-loving, adventure ready, and the perfect amount of personality to keep things light hearted and fun. She settles in, reads the room, and melts into the rhythm without asking for much in return. Go watch Lola the Low-Key Adventure Buddy on YouTube, then come back and picture what life with her would actually feel like… because she’s great in a highlight reel but she is aiming for real-life everyday ease. https://youtu.be/4Z7sIlz_OcA Lola is about 3 years old, 47 lbs, and likely a kelpie/cattle dog mix- rescue rules in full effect, of course- no guarantees on breed or birthday. She’s currently living in a foster home where things are calm, steady, and shared… with a 12-year-old boy and even a cat she free roams with. No micromanaging, no constant supervision, her foster says she just understands how to be a house dog. Her foster describes her as “incredibly easy,” and it shows in all the ways that matter. Lola moves comfortably between activity and rest… happy to join you for a walk, a dog park outing, or a little backyard squirrel surveillance, then just as content to come inside and settle near her people. She doesn’t need constant entertainment or create chaos when things slow down. She’s affectionate without being over the top, present without being demanding… the kind of dog who lays nearby while you go about your day, checking in quietly without a fuss. With other dogs, she leans toward coexistence over play. She can share space easily, especially with a calm dogs who are not looking to wrestle or push boundaries. She’s clear about her space when she needs to be, and then goes right back to minding her business. It’s honest, appropriate communication… fair and effective. Lola feels like the kind of dog who fits into real life. School mornings, work days, evenings on the couch, weekend outings. Nothing complicated, nothing overwhelming… just a good dog who knows how to be part of a home. If that sounds like your kind of pace, Lola is ready and waiting for her best adventure yet! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69eb842a1757f7a7bf01ade8 Questions? Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Meet Apollo Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: 10/2/2022 Weight: 46 Pounds Health: Neutered, vaccinated, and a cancer survivor Apollo is more than just a dog — he’s a true survivor with a heart full of love and resilience. After bravely going through 10 rounds of chemotherapy, Apollo has shown incredible strength and determination. Today, he’s a happy, loving boy who hasn’t let his past define him. Instead, he embraces life with joy, energy, and a deep desire to finally have a family of his own. Personality Apollo is friendly, affectionate, and full of life. He loves people and does wonderfully with kids, making him a great family companion. He also gets along well with other dogs and enjoys both playtime and companionship. Apollo has a loving, loyal nature and thrives when he is around his humans. He’s the kind of dog who will happily join you on walks, adventures, or simply relax by your side at the end of the day. Breed Info Husky and Kelpie mixes are intelligent, active, and highly loyal dogs. Huskies are known for their friendly nature and love of companionship, while Kelpies bring focus, energy, and a strong desire to engage. This combination creates a dog who enjoys both physical activity and mental stimulation. With proper exercise and structure, dogs like Apollo become incredibly devoted companions who thrive when included in daily life. Owner Responsibilities Apollo will do best with an adopter who can provide regular exercise, engagement, and companionship. Daily walks, playtime, and mentally stimulating activities will help keep him balanced and happy. Continued positive reinforcement training will strengthen his bond with his adopter and give him structure. Given his medical history, ongoing attention to his health and routine vet care will be important. ⚠️ Things to Consider Before adopting Apollo, it’s important to consider your long-term stability and lifestyle. Are pets allowed where you live now and in the future? If you move, will Apollo move with you? Do you have time each day for exercise, companionship, and engagement? Are you financially prepared for routine veterinary care and any future needs? Dogs like Apollo deserve a home that will stand by them for life. Vet Care Apollo has already shown incredible strength through his treatment, and continued veterinary care will be important to support his long-term health. Establishing care with your own veterinarian soon after adoption will help ensure he continues to thrive and receive proper monitoring. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule Like most rescue dogs, Apollo will need time to adjust to his new home. The first 3 days he may feel unsure as he decompresses. The first 3 weeks he will begin learning your routine and feeling more secure. By 3 months, his confidence will grow and his loving personality will fully shine. Patience and consistency during this time will help him settle in successfully. Why Apollo? Apollo has already proven how strong and resilient he is. Now, he’s ready for the life he truly deserves — one filled with love, stability, and companionship. Dogs like Apollo don’t just love… they love deeply. The family who gives him a home will gain a loyal, grateful companion who will cherish every moment by their side.
