Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogImportant Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Buddy, and I am a gorgeous Australian Shepherd puppy who was born 1/17/25, and I weigh 25 pounds. I was born with a fused knee and a dislocated hip, but I have learned to get around just fine. My Dogtor advises to let it alone and let me enjoy my life. I am very social and sweet and get along well with other dogs. A calm sibling to play with would be ideal and respectful children over 10 years old would be okay with me.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Elizabeth, CO *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Rosie! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Rosie is fearful of strangers! She is good with kids and cats! No dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. Rosie bit a neighbor’s child who walked into their house unexpectedly. She also bit a woman who tried to break up a fight between her dog and Rosie. The owner is surrendering her because she is aggressive towards their smaller pets and strangers. If you think you can provide a great home for Rosie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Rosie. Story
In Buena Vista: Hi my name is Sven, I am 7 years old and looking for my furever family. I love working from home with my foster, enjoy going to sniff spots and love taking naps. I am the typical Aussie as I follow my foster mom everywhere, protect my house, and love to play. I am very smart and love to snuggle. I need a special type of home and a new family that will continue to help me get past my past training. I was trained inappropriately with a shock collar and I am so nervous when I see another dog as I was shocked for barking to have them back off. I have gotten so much better in my foster home but it has taken a while and a lot of snacks. I need a family that will only use positive training, has a 6 foot privacy fence, and will snuggle with me. I need to be the only pet in the home but I do well with older kids. I love to be active and look forward to finding my furever family. Sven is being fostered in Colorado for Australian Shepherds Furever, we are a 501c3 and are PACFA licensed. Please email asfmtnrep@gmail.com or PM Melissa Taylor for more information. All pups in our care are up to date on vaccines, microchipped,m spayed/neutered and loved. We do home inspection and reference checks. Sven is very obedient and smart, needs someone to call his furever. If interested, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which covers the registration and transfer to Sven's new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Koda is a very sweet fun dog, that loves to play ball and frisbee, as well as hike. He is between 5 and 6 years old. I got Koda from a lady who had him from a puppy, but got divorced and could not keep him. He is still somewhat reactive to other dogs when hiking, though now he does pretty well unless the dog is off leash. My main reason for rehoming him is that he is too nervous around little children in my home. The smaller they are, the more nervous he seems to be. He does very well around my older grandchildren (5 and up) but I have had him nip a couple of times at toddlers, though not actually break any skin or touch them that I can tell. I have too many children around to be able to have this kind of liablility. Koda would do very well in a home that did not usually have little kids in it. He is very much a dog that would be wonderful for someone that wanted a companion that would always be pretty close. He does do just fine when I need to leave him for several hours.

HIGHLIGHTS -Requires another confident dog already established in the home. - -Requires a harness to go home in- Legacy: A Sweet, Shy Soul Meet Legacy, a 3-year-old Mini Aussie weighing 27 lbs. Legacy is a gentle and shy girl who is still building trust with humans. She would thrive in a patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and confident. Legacy requires the presence of another confident dog in the home to help her feel secure, and a meet and greet at the shelter will be required to ensure a good match. With the right family, Legacy has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you’re looking for a patient, understanding home to help a sweet, shy dog grow in confidence, Legacy could be the perfect addition to your family. ----- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Remington is a 7-year-old, 25-pound Miniature Australian Shepherd who has been quietly winning over everyone he meets. This sweet boy has a gentle spirit and a soft way about him, and once he feels comfortable, his personality starts to shine in the most endearing ways. He loves being petted, enjoys rolling on his back, and has recently discovered that toys are actually pretty fun. Remington can be a bit shy when he first meets new people or encounters new situations, but he is truly thriving in his foster home. He has a strong appreciation for consistency and routine, and he settles beautifully once he knows what to expect. In fact, he’s so comfortable with his foster family that he happily greets them at the door every day when they come home. This boy is wonderfully easy to live with. He is completely kennel trained, fully potty trained, and perfectly content being left alone while his foster parents are at work—he never has accidents and spends his time calmly. He gets along well with other dogs, walks great on a leash, and loves hiking. Even though he isn’t a dog who will snuggle on the couch, he absolutely adores his people and shows his affection through excitement, tail wags, and warm greetings. Remington does get nervous with changes and can be a flight risk when his environment is shifting. Because of this, he will need a patient adopter who can give him time to settle in and help him understand that he’s safe. A high, secure fence—or a home without a backyard during his adjustment period—will be important for his safety. Once he’s comfortable, he handles visitors just fine and will even approach guests for pets. He also happens to be a huge fan of mealtime and treats, especially his favorite: boiled chicken. Watching him light up when food comes out is one of his foster parents’ favorite things about him. Remington is looking for someone who appreciates a quieter, routine-loving companion and who can give him the reassurance he needs to keep blossoming. Once he trusts you, he’s the kind of dog who will quietly but deeply adore you. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Story
Katie is a fully vetted, 1-2 yrs old doodle, who is very sweet!! She does ok with other dogs, though sometimes she gets a little overbearing when playing with them, and causes her to become "alpha", so we are hoping to find her a home where she can be the only dog, getting all the love! Katie loves the water, walks well on a leash, loves to ride in the car, great with children, and her temperament with people is very loving. If interested in adopting, please fill out our adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.
