Story
Feather is a young adult red merle female Australian Shepherd. She and her puppies were surrendered to us and now that her puppies are all adopted it it is her turn to find her perfect forever home! Feather is a happy, energetic girl looking for an active home. We have been working on her jumping on people but she will need some beginning obedience and isn't a good fit for small children, seniors and frail pets - she means no harm but is very enthusiastic! Feather really just wants to be a good girl and loves toys and attention.

Story
This is Diego. He's an 11 month old Aussie mix that needs a foster home. He was a "free dog" online and the original owners did not represent him honestly with the new owners. Things are not working out and he needs to be properly placed (after full vetting). He is scheduled dor neuter on Tuesday. We hope to have a foster in place by then. He's great with his people and FEMALE dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown because the family does not have cats. There was a pretty bad fight between Diego and the senior male dog in this family. Since the fight the family has been distrusting of his behavior around the four-year-old as well so to be safe they have kept them separate. This is why he has to go. For this reason, we do not want him fostered with male dogs until he has been vetted and properly evaluated. We also do not feel that he should be placed in a home with young children until vetting and evaluation. He's a beautiful boy and deserves a happily ever after. We can help him find it!! It may well be he just needs his testosterone to be taken care of. Many dogs settle down after neuter and it's never fair to these animals when the original owners do not divulge all the information to the new owners. We feel this is a combination of situations that has just worked against Diego. Foster application can be filled out through this link: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/31711/generic If you fill out a foster application please give our director a heads up as we do not have a volunteer readily responding to applications at this time. It helps us to know that one has been submitted. You may text Aspen at 352-843-6858 ##1357659##

Story
Charlie is a good boy. He has a lot going for him!! *Basic obedience *Housebroken *Good with kids *Good with dogs *Neutered *Up to Date on Vax *Australian Shepherd mix Charlie really doesn't have any strikes against him. But there are a few NO-NO'S for Charlie... he is a high-energy herding breed and NOT appropriate for the very young children he lives with. He hasn't done anything wrong but the family is wisely identifying the problems BEFORE they escalate (which they WILL once the children walk and run). Charlie is also not good around cats and small animals. Those are his limitations and we can respect that. He is currently living with two children (under 2) and needs to be rehomed or taken into a reputable rescue. Our rescue has no available foster homes... but what we CAN do is share Charlie's story. We can also assist by screening potential adoptive families and representing Charlie through our adoption search engines. We offer Charlie an "umbrella" of sorts. We want to help and this is how we can. Please submit the dog adoption application, linked below, if you would like to be considered: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/31712/generic This is a bit of a "post script rant" but it needs to be said... It's always so important, when properly placing a dog, to not set the dog up for failure. And most importantly... keep everyone SAFE. It is for this reason that we embrace surrendering owners. It is not our place to disparage them. We exist in the utilitarian capacity of HELPING THE ANIMAL. We cannot and do not serve the animals if we waste our time and energy pointing fingers and shaming owners. We want to fully support that animal in their important next step. And we must all be on the #sameteam if we are to accomplish that. Located in Ocala FL ##1860812##

Story
Maggie-Coming Soon! Maggie is 6 years old. She and Dallas, both beautiful merle females found themselves in need of a new home after their owner passed away. Both Maggie and Dallas are so sweet and good with other dogs. Dallas is more tolerant while Maggie likes to play more on her own. Both girls are just darling. They are a bit chunky and need to trim a few pounds. Both of these lovely girls love pets and are food motivated. They are crate trained and house trained despite having been left outside for long periods of time. They are very smart girls, that listen well and know basic commands. They are also good on leash and ride well in the car. Maggie and Dallas can be adopted together or separately. There is a discount if they are adopted as a pair. Maggie is undergoing HW treatment, so she is not quite ready, but Dallas is ready now. If either or both of these ladies’ sound perfect for you, please fill out our application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to their new furever families. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
