Story
Malibu is a Valentine's Day pup! If you follow our Facebook page, you may have seen her story. She was horribly neglected then turned out by her previous owners. A good Samaritan took her in and he kept her safe until we could help her out. She's been to the vet and we are giving her all the love we can. She is a Australian kelpie shepherd mix that was born February 14, 2023. She will be a medium dog when full grown. She weighs 31 pounds now. She needs to be in a home where she can be spoiled. She's had a rough start and deserves all the love and kisses! A home with a fenced yard would be ideal for play, exploring and the confidence to complete her housetraining. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
River is an almost 3yr old full bred Australian Shepherd. He has been professionally trained and knows all the commands. He walks on a leash well and does well in public places. He is e-collar trained and responds very well to it. He is fully house and crate trained. He is good with our baby. He is not good with cats. He has a very big bark and barks often. He does need constant supervision. He struggles with remaining calm and can often get overwhelmed with unfamiliar people. He is extremely high energy and would be considered a super chewer. He is very much a people person (familiar people only) but has a difficult time being calm enough to be petted. He needs a high energy family who can support his need for structure and exercise. A fenced area would definitely be preferred.

Story
A SWEET & BEAUTIFUL GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 12 lbs.   Hi, my name is Bella!  I had a lifelong home, but my family’s situation changed, and they are no longer able to keep me, so Mostly Mutts is helping me find a new family to love and be loved by.  I was adopted for a few weeks, but we all realized that I needed family members that are home most of the time as that’s what I’ve had since I was a puppy. I did not do well with my family members working away from home.   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I lived with another dog in my original home, and they also reported that I was good with other dogs in general but should be fed separately. In my temporary home, I was reported to like some dogs, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / My original family reported that I did well with kids in my home, but I don’t remember their ages, so best no toddlers that may fall on me and let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet and playful girl with a friendly nature who is looking for her match!  A people dog, I don’t like being left alone and become very anxious when without my human company.  I would be happiest in a home where a work from home/stay at home family member is able to provide the companionship I crave. / My energy level was higher such as 6 - 7 in my two homes, but it’s a little lower at the shelter since my return – likely because I’m a bit nervous here and there have been a lot of changes for me lately.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am familiar with the ‘sit’ and ‘lie down’ commands, and I bet you can reinforce these and teach me even more. In my temp. home I did try to bolt through doors/gates, so let’s work on some training for this and Mostly Mutts will be glad to help you with that. / In my original home, I slept well in my crate but in my temp. home I was not a fan of the crate. / It seems that I may need a refresher on my potty skills, as I did well in my original home on a good schedule but had accidents in my temp. home.  Could be that everything is new to me, and I’ll need time to learn the routine in a new home.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and run around in the yard with my people, so a fenced yard where we can hang out together would be great in my new home. I love my family and just hanging out together.  Walks are also great and give me some good exercise. / I don’t like being alone and may need time to adjust to new places.  I was also wary and skittish when meeting men in my temp. home – not aggressive, just barky and a little anxious.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I just had a dental cleaning, so my teeth are nice and healthy.  I also just started a medication for the separation anxiety (Fluoxetine) that I experienced in my temp. home to see if it helps, just ask about this.     If you’re looking for a great little companion, I could be the one!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 16, 2024, 6:21 am
