Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Available in Kennesaw - Nakoa is a beautiful 2-year-old red merle Aussie who was found wandering the streets with a chewed rope hanging from his neck. Nakoa is on the slimmer side and has a higher level of energy as well as anxiety. Nakoa would do best in a quieter home with less chaotic activity, so older children are preferred. Nakoa is great with other dogs, even though his "talk" makes him sound scary. Nakoa would do great in a home with another friendly dog or as an only child. Nakoa is loving, sweet, gentle, eager to please, and could be great for agility and other sport dog activities. Due to his past, Nakoa will need someone that can continue to train with him because, while fine being left in his crate, he does not like being left alone outside and will jump, bark and whine. Nakoa does not react well to strangers inside the home and will continue to pace and guard long after they have left, especially if the guest was male. He will need ongoing training and someone with experience is a must. Nakoa will need a home with a securely fenced yard. He walks okay on a leash, but again, will need someone that can work with him. He has not been tested around cats. Nakoa is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm, flea and tick prevention, and is house/crate trained. If you are interested in Nakoa, start by filling out the online application at: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Nakoa is located in the Kennesaw, Ga. A Meet and Greet is required. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Meet Nyra, If you are looking for a happy go lucky pup then look no further. Nyra is a beautiful 15 month old pure bred Australian Shepherd who is full of energy and loves people. She is a 54 lb baby (or at least acts like it) who is always on the go. She loves water and would spend most of her day swimming, playing in the creek or with the water hose. She does well with other dogs, but can be a little nippy and doesn’t know her boundaries. She would do best with a submissive dog sibling who has lots of patience. Nyra however is not a fan of small animals and should not be in a home with small pets. She is mostly house trained and has an occasional accident if you don’t pay attention. She usually goes to the door and has started using a bell to let us know she needs to go out. She is crate trained, knows sit, down, place and paw. Nyra is young and still learning so she will need a home with someone who is willing to continue her training and a family who is very active. Someone that is familiar with the breed is preferred. Nyra is a good girl who just needs direction. She will make a great family member, but could have too much energy for small children, so children over 8 years of age is preferred. Nyra loves plopping down on you for cuddles and scratches and loves to go for car rides. She also loves playing ball, so she needs a large fenced in yard of her own to run and romp in. Since she can be nippy, so no dog parks. Nyra is up to date on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. A meet and greet with any potential adopter is required. If you think you could provide a great home for Nyra then please fill out an application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Personality/Energy Level: David is a very energetic and playful puppy who loves to run, jump, and play. He has a lot of energy and enjoys going on long walks and exploring his surroundings. He can be a bit mouthy and playful with his humans, but with proper training and redirection, he can learn to curb this behavior. Behavior with Cats, Other Dogs, and Children: David may not be suited for a home with smaller dogs, cats, or children under the age of ten. He can be a bit rough when playing and may not understand his own strength. He may be better suited for a home with older children or as the only pet in the home. Skills/Crate/Potty: David is a young puppy and is still learning basic obedience and housetraining. He will require patience and consistency from his new family to help him learn these skills. He has had some experience with crate training and is getting better at spending time in his crate. Likes/Dislikes: David loves to play and be active. He enjoys going on long walks, playing with his toys, and spending time with his humans. He may not like being left alone for long periods of time or being confined to one place for too long. Medical: David has been checked by a veterinarian and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. He has not had any major medical issues or injuries, but he will need to continue with regular veterinary checkups to ensure he stays healthy. ##1696137##

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bailey is a 10-month-old spayed female mix: husky-Australian sheppard-German sheppard. Ideally, would be adopted with Roxie, 3-YO border collie mix. Bailey was adopted in 2022 as a pup from LifeLine foster. She has a definite love for life! I added Bailey to my family to keep Roxie (3yo border collie mix spayed female) entertained. Ideally, the 2 would go together. They are not bonded, but keep each other very entertained and mentally stimulated. I realize I can't give Bailey and Roxie the best life experience they deserves. Bailey is a wonderful friend & companion! She plays well with kids, dogs and wants to play cats (helpful if cats have claws to give swats!) She is mostly crate trained, loves chewing on bones and squeaky balls and antagonizing Roxie. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and microchipped. All accessories I have will be yours including: crate, food cannister, hiking accessories, poop cleaning accessories, shampoo/brushes, treats, leashes/collars, and life vest.

Story
Hi, my name is Lillie! I'm listed as an Australian Shepherd mix.I came into the shelter as an owner surrender because my old family could no longer give me the care I needed.I am a very sweet, social and laid back girl that will take any and all of the love I can get from my people! I'm currently on my summer weight loss journey to get beach-body ready, so I would love to have a fitness buddy! In my previous life, I lived with cats and kids, ranging from ages 10-17. However, because we don't know how I did with them, we recommend that you bring anyone you would like to introduce to me with you when you come in. I can't wait to meet you!Weight: 33.7 lbsIf you are interested in adoption, please go to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter Facebook page Friday night at 5:30 to view our new post, you will see the new animals that will be available Saturday morning at 10:00am.
