Rescued from an abusive situation, she may be a little shy or standoffish at first — but give her time, and you’ll see her playful, goofy personality shine through. She’s house and kennel trained, does great on a leash, and loves going for walks just as much as she loves a lazy day curled up by your side. Chappell also gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for both people and pups alike. *Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Apollo is a 1 year old Aussie mix who is ready to play! He loves going on walks and can't wait to meet his new best friend! Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2016310##

Meet Chappell Chappell is a beautiful 5.5 year old Australian Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and resilience. She was rescued from an abusive situation, and while she may be shy at first, her goofy, playful side shines once she feels safe. She’s house and kennel trained, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys both going for walks and relaxing at home. Chappell gets along well with other dogs and would love a home that can give her the patience and encouragement she deserves. She does tend to be more reserved with men than women, but with gentle consistency she’s been warming up to her foster dad and building confidence every day. Chappell is the perfect mix of silly playmate and loyal cuddle buddy — now she just needs her forever family to help her continue to blossom.
