Roux is a 7 year 8-month-old male Australian Shepherd mix with a brown and white fluffy coat and a gentle, soulful personality. He weighs 73 pounds and has clearly been a well-loved indoor dog. After his beloved owner passed away, Roux was staying at a veterinary clinic, patiently waiting for a new family to call his own. Roux truly enjoys the comforts of home but also loves going outside to feel the sunshine, run a bit, and sniff the grass. Rainy weather is strictly business only, then it is right back inside. He adores people and attention, happily following his humans around and gently pawing for more pets when he feels the moment is right. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
