Story
We adopted Mossy two years ago when he was almost two years old. He is a sweet and loyal dog with lots of energy who just wants lots of love. I've been a stay at home parent these last few years and now, due to a new financial situation, I am getting a new job. Unfortunately, it will require me to no longer be home and between taking the kids to school, after school activities, my husband working long hours already, and now me going to work I don't see Mossy getting the attention that he deserves. He would be great for a family with middle school aged or older kids. He gets along with our two grouchy elderly cats. He's also great at not chewing on things that don't belong to him. Our daughter leaves her toys everywhere and he has been about 98% accurate on what are his toys versus hers. He's very house trained. We have never had issues with him peeing inside. He would benefit from having an owner who has a fenced backyard and who is good with high energy dogs.

Story
Meet Stella, a wonderful and clever dog who is looking for a specific home environment where she can truely thrive. Stella is a loving companion, but she does have some specific environmental needs to ensure she feels safe and secrure. Inside the home Stella exhibits resourse gaurding behaviors over her toys and bed. Because of this, she does best in a structured indoor environment. where toys and dog beds are kept out of rotation. interestingly, Stella feels much more relaxed outdoors, when she is outside in the yard, she is perfectly fine having toys around and enjoys her playtime immensely. To set Stella up fo absolute success, she needs to be the only dog in the household. Also she reqires a home with no cats and no young children. In an adult-only, pet-free environmsnt with clear routines, Stella will make a incredibly loyal and devoted companion If interested call Taunton Animal Shelter at 508-822-1463 and ask for Rob Shelter Manager

***Adoption fee is sponsored and paid for thanks to NBT Bank!***Meet Bentley!Bentley is true to his breed - high-energy and looking for something to do at all times. Bentley is not a low energy dog and will require a home preferably who understands the breed or herding and high energy breeds. He is a very strong dog so will need someone who can handle that as well as his excitement. He will need an active owner who will be able to make sure his needs are being met daily which is not only physically but mentally as well. True to the breed, Bentley can be nippy especially when he becomes overstimulated, but we believe with daily activity and mental stimulation, he will do well. Due to being a herding breed, children 12 years and older would be ideal as well as cats who are used to dogs and not afraid to put him in his place if needed. He was around other dogs previously and did well so low energy dogs would be best for him.

Story
Cecil is a 6 year old blue Merle Aussie. My parents got him as a puppy in 2020 but due to major medical setbacks in the last year, they can no longer keep him. He loves his humans and wants to follow or stay beside them all day. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He currently lives with another much older dog, and they are very close. He would rather go for a walk than play with a toy. Please note: he has anxiety in new places and circumstances, so a situation with stability is best, and it may take time for him to settle and adapt. He is very protective of humans and his home and has nipped a few people that approached him too soon in his own home. He needs time to warm up to strangers, but he has also spent time in boarding and doggy daycare just fine. He can be prone to loud barking, especially when nervous, so definitely not an apartment dog. He has not spent much time around children before this.

Story
Meet Nova! A spirited eight-and-a-half-year-old Miniature/Standard Australian Shepherd cross currently in Alliance, OH, whose essence is a joyful blend of loyalty, curiosity, and quiet devotion wrapped in a handsome tricolor coat. At 33 pounds, this medium-sized boy is happiest when he is close to his favorite person, whether that means heading out for a long sniff-filled walk, riding along for a car adventure, or simply relaxing nearby after a fun day together. His treasured squeaky pig is his favorite toy, although he is just as happy with a sturdy chew toy or an energetic game of tug! Nova has completed formal obedience training and proudly shows off an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, wait, down, stand, leave it, come, look at me, switch, roll over, shake, and even give me 10! He is crate trained, house-trained, microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has no health concerns. He comfortably spends a full workday alone without becoming destructive, making him a wonderful companion for someone with a regular schedule. This sweet boy thrives with patient guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be fearful of some men, especially heavy or swinging feet, and may react when he feels threatened. He has no bite history, but he has nipped at feet in moments of fear, so understanding and gentle handling help him feel secure. Nova also has a strong instinct to chase cats, runners, and bicycles while on leash, so he needs a cat-free home and thoughtful management during walks. He enjoys boarding with other dogs and can be compatible with canine companions who match his personality. Nova needs a calm, loving home with adults or older children, and he would likely bond especially closely with a woman or another gentle adult who gives him time to build trust. In return, he offers steadfast companionship, affectionate loyalty, and countless happy walks filled with wagging tails and curious sniffs! Could Nova be the faithful friend who has been waiting to share life's everyday adventures with you? If you would like to welcome Nova into your family, please contact adopt@joyfulpets.com. Story
Meet Kiefer! If you're looking for an adventure buddy who will keep you active and shower you with affection, Kiefer is ready to be your perfect sidekick! This handsome 35-pound pup has an energetic spirit, a heart full of love, and is happiest when he's spending time with his favorite people. Kiefer is fully house trained and thrives on routine. His ideal day includes long walks, backyard zoomies, puzzle toys, training sessions, and plenty of opportunities to use both his brain and his body. He's incredibly food motivated and loves learning, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training. A frozen Kong, lick mat, or a long-lasting chew can keep him happily occupied after a busy day. Around the house, Kiefer is a world-class cuddle bug. Personal space isn't really his thing—if you're sitting down, chances are he'll be right in your lap, leaning into you for pets and affection. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves being included in everything they do. Kiefer enjoys the company of the right canine friends. He currently lives successfully with a young German Shepherd and respects her boundaries well. He would likely do best with another confident but easygoing dog or as the only pet where he can soak up all the attention. Because of his strong prey drive, he is not a good fit for homes with cats or other small animals. On walks, Kiefer is generally a great companion and settles into a nice pace after the initial excitement. He is still working on staying focused around fast-moving distractions like bicycles, scooters, cars, and wildlife, and may bark or lunge when he becomes fixated. Kiefer would thrive with an active adopter who enjoys daily walks, outdoor adventures, and ongoing training. AHe'll also need a family committed to continuing the positive training that's already helping him become the best version of himself. If you're searching for a loyal companion who will happily hike beside you, eagerly learn new tricks, and then curl up as close to you as physically possible at the end of the day, Kiefer is ready to find his forever family.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2788258##
