Story
Juniper truly is a remarkable dog. It is estimated that she is about four years old. Found on the streets of Houston, she has over come so much. Juniper is deaf and mostly blind but that doesn't stop her. She loves playing with her bouncy ball. She seems to be solar charged. She is most goofy and playful in the morning then chills out almost immediately (to begin one of her many naps of the day). But she will get very excited if she smells her leash coming out. She LOVES meeting new people, and will greet them with a down dog bow and lots of full body wiggles and helicopter tail wags. With other dogs in the home, she either plays with them or ignores them. Her only hurdle is that she is resource aggressive towards food (so feeding her alone is ideal) and sadly, me. She has decided one of her owner is a resource and one is a threat. She would be amazing with a single adult parent or a couple who are patient and ready to learn her touch cues as well as let her feel safe over time.

Story
Emily is a sweet and well mannered, medium energy 30lb / 8yr old female that loves to fetch, go for walks, and cuddle. She has been very low maintenance with no known health issues for the last 6 years of ownership. Emily lives best with at least one of her human owners being a female, and most likely as an only pet or possibly with a cat. Emily needs a new quieter home because she is afraid of the neighbors kids and reminds her current owner of a recent divorce. She was adopted in 2020 as a stray from Arkansas with heartworm but made a full recovery that same year. She is now well adapted to her owners working standard 8 hour workdays, spending time together before/after work and on weekends.

Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Danny! Danny is approximately 1.5 years old, 31 lbs currently and he is a mixed breed pup! He was found as a stray with his buddy Cole. In his foster home, he is working on hard on his house training, crate training, and leash walking skills. He could join households with older kiddos, possibly dog-savvy cats, and other dogs. No apartments, please! Danny is very high energy and needs an active family. His foster says, `Danny is an active young dog, still learning commands, walking on a leash, and going in his crate but he is very smart and picking it up fast. He loves to play fetch with his ball and can play with the kids for hours. Enjoys riding in the car and loves the outdoors. Loves going for walks and seeing new places. After exploring the house he settles in and likes snuggles on the coach and watch TV. He is friendly with our cat too.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on October 8th or possibly earlier. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Meet Roo! ❤️🐾 Roo is a stunning, incredibly smart girl who forms strong bonds with the people she trusts. Once you're in her circle, she's affectionate, silly, playful, and loves snuggles, pets, and belly rubs. Her foster family describes her as simply “so easy to love.” Roo is active, food motivated, and loves to learn. She already knows several cues and has been doing great with clicker training and positive reinforcement. She’s also a toy fanatic who loves balls, sticks, rope toys, puzzles, and zoomies. And her absolute favorite? Water! Give Roo a kiddie pool and she’ll leap right in, chase her toys, and even blow bubbles underwater while fishing for a ball. Roo is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced adopter who can give her structure, predictability, and time to build trust. She can be sensitive and reactive to unfamiliar people, dogs, sounds, and movement, so a home with few visitors and continued training will help her thrive. Roo is a true homebody who is happiest enjoying the comfort and predictability of her own space, rather than joining her family for trips, outings, or travel. She is fully house trained and would love a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Roo needs to be the only pet in her home, with no dogs or cats. Roo isn't looking for everyone—she's looking for her people. For someone willing to earn her trust, this special girl has so much love, laughter, and personality to share. ❤️🐾

Story
Meet Blitz! A spirited almost two-year-old Australian Shepherd currently in Winchester, VA, whose essence is a brilliant blend of devotion, intelligence, and playful energy wrapped in a striking blue merle coat with icy blue eyes. At about 50 pounds, this medium-sized boy is a lively companion who loves being part of the action! Blitz has quite the resume of tricks. He knows sit, down, wait, shake, bow, beg, play dead, jump, back, center, perch, and many more! Tug-of-war, sturdy chew toys, and chasing a ball rank high on his list of favorite activities, while hiking and jogging give him wonderful outlets for his Australian Shepherd energy. He could use additional leash training and would enjoy continuing to learn through patient, positive reinforcement. This affectionate fellow is a constant companion with a heart full of loyalty! One of his sweetest habits is plopping himself into a lap, apparently unconcerned that he weighs 50 pounds. His enthusiastic “wiggle butt” is another family favorite! Blitz is wonderful with respectful older children and has formed especially loving relationships with kids ages 10 and 13. He is friendly with other dogs, while his compatibility with cats and younger children has not been assessed. Blitz experiences significant anxiety and needs a patient, consistent family who can help him feel secure. He can be fearful of unfamiliar situations, needs slow introductions to new people, and may bark at visitors or feel wary during on-leash greetings. He also experiences separation anxiety and does well crated for shorter absences but may chew when left alone too long. Blitz also has an important bite history. During a 12-day stay in a home with several dogs and a new puppy, he bit a familiar caregiver twice. This person had previously cared for and walked him more than 10 times without incident. His guardians believe the unusually long stay, crowded environment, new puppy, and Blitz’s underlying anxiety became overwhelming for him. He had never previously shown this behavior toward people and continued to get along well with the other dogs. Blitz needs a calm, predictable environment, slow introductions, plenty of exercise, and patient behavior support using positive reinforcement. A family experienced with anxious herding breeds and with people around much of the day would be especially suitable for this sensitive, devoted boy. Blitz is neutered, house-trained, microchipped, crate-trained, and current on vaccinations. His sensitive stomach is managed with Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach food and a probiotic.
