Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Waynesville, NC *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Oliver Hamish! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Oliver Hamish is good with older children! No younger children, because they make him nervous. He is good with the other dogs inside of the home, but is nervous around dogs outside of the home. He has bitten 3 times when someone was around his food. He has food aggression. The owner is surrendering him because of the bite incidents. They are also unable to provide the time and attention that he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Oliver Hamish, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Oliver Hamish. Meet Ranger!This sweet, goofy Australian Shepherd mix is guaranteed to steal your heart and brighten your home. Ranger is one of those dogs who loves everyone he meets and truly wants nothing more than to be part of a family. He’s incredibly friendly, food-motivated in the funniest way, and always ready to make you laugh with his adorable personality.Ranger does have a developmental issue in one of his front legs, and he will soon be a tripod. He’ll do wonderfully on three legs, but he will need crate rest for an extended period after his surgery. Because of that, we would love for him to go into a foster-to-adopt home beforehand—someone who can keep an eye on him and help him recover safely. Ranger is very easy to keep entertained with busy bones, frozen stuffed KONGs, peanut-butter frisbees, and pretty much anything his little chunky self can snack on. He LOVES food!He does fantastic with other dogs and has shown only normal puppy curiosity toward cats—no negative behavior at all. Contact information is provided below.Jetta is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd (cryptic merle with white markings). She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is also AKC and ASCA registered and up-to-date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.Like many Aussis, Jetta is energetic and would need to have a fenced-in yard to run, play, and be contained. Jetta does not get along with other dogs (unsure about cats), so she would need to be the only pet in the home. Jetta has a very sweet personality and loves to be with her person - or people - but does not do well with children or strangers. In the evenings, Jetta loves to snuggle with her people on the couch.Jetta is a smart dog and knows basic obedience. She has worked with a couple of trainers over the last few years. Jetta is housetrained and views her crate as a safe place when she is not interacting with her people. She loves food/treats, attention, and playing with her toys. Jetta also enjoys walks and hikes, but may need to be muzzled due to her reactivity. She is very protective of her home and would make an excellent watch dog.The owner is surrendering her because she needs a home without any other dogs or children. We originally bought Leo with his sister Camilla around 3 years ago when they were just tiny puppies. Leo is around 3 years old and is sweet and kind with other dogs. He is a very energetic boy, he absolutely loves to just RUN. Unfortunately, We are having to move due to our current housing situation becoming unlivable. We are looking for someone who preferably has a lot of space for him to run. Maybe someone with a farm, or even and huge fenced in acre where he can be free. He’s not aggressive with any type of other animals. Well behaved and listens real well. We don’t want to rehome him as he has been with us a long time, but we feel as though he deserves more and unfortunately at the moment we can’t give him that. Please only serious inquiries only. P.s he’s a really good hugger and will a family really happy
