Story
Nala is a 1.5 year old Aussie mix that we adopted from the Greenville, SC animal shelter. She is a sweet and energetic dog who wants to play and run around all day. She lives in a house with cats and a younger dog and she has always been very gentle with them/respected their boundaries. Her favorite toys are plushie toys with squeakers in them; she will carry them around the house with her all day. She also enjoys chew toys when she is relaxing and tug toys that she can use with her human or with another dog. She is a very smart dog so she knows several tricks and commands that we use on a daily basis. We have never seen her around children, but I think with her playful attitude, she would do well with having a child or more dogs to play with.

Rocky will be 2 years old on July 6th. I also have all the information to get him NKC registered, but we never saw the need. He will definitely need to be groomed! He loves to stay outside. We haven’t had time to give him the grooming care he typically gets for being an active outside pup! He has so much energy! He loves to play constantly! We are definitely looking for a home where he is going to have lots of room to run! He is trained on a shock collar! He knows how to sit and shake. He loves to play fetch. He gets along with people and other pets! He does ride really great in a car!

Story
Valley Girl. This little girl is the sweetest. Initially found as a stray, Valley was facing euthanasia as she was so scared in the shelter environment. You ought to see her run and play with the other dogs now! Valley is a little shy initially but once you've earned her trust, she's a joyful, happy, funny, silly, sweet affectionate pup. All it takes is a little patience to reap her as your incredible reward. Valley is approximately 3 yrs. old and 35 lbs. She's the perfect sized pooch! Want more info on Valley Girl? We don't blame you a bit. Don't call! Go to: www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com to submit your no-cost/ no-obligation adoption application. Story
Hi! My name is Donut! Cute, huh? I was born on June 14, 2022. I was adopted from Heart of the Foothills as a puppy, but then ended up at the animal shelter in another county. The shelter contacted Heart since they were listed on my microchip. They were not able to ever reach my adoptive parents, so I went back to Heart and have been there ever since.I'm an Australian Shepherd, so I'm very sweet, but also very high energy. My very favorite thing to do is run around outside. I could run forever! I'd really love a home with a fenced in yard to help keep me safe while I explore and play. I also really love my swimming pool!I'm a very smart guy; I know several commands. I am friendly with other dogs, so if you already have a pup, I'd love to make friends with them! I would do best in an active household with older children. I'm still a young dog, so sometimes I don't understand my strength. I'm very friendly, but I may be a little much for a small child. I currently weigh about 50 pounds; I shouldn't get too much bigger, no more than about 60.I'd really love a home of my own with my very own forever family. If you're looking for a new best friend, please give me a chance! If you are interested in adopting this animal please fill out an application at heartofthefoothills.org/adopt.
