I have shown to have no interest in dogs, and like to be the only one in the household. Cats? I have never been around cats. Slow, supervised introductions would set us up for success.Kids? I`m not a fan of small children. I`d like to meet older kids that can respect my boundaries! 10+Anything else you`d like us to know, Duncan? I`m an older guy that loves walks, car rides, cuddles, swimming, and relaxing at home!I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. A absolutely beautiful blue Merle. Fully vaccinated, registered, neutered & microchipped. Treated for fleas & worms. Crate trained. Leash trained, but pulls. Follows basic commands. Loves kids & people & they love him. Does well with other dogs and cats, although he needs trained not to chase. When he gets excited he will run at you and bark and jump up and nip at you, (like he is herding cattle) This scares some people. He is food aggressive and has bit 3 people over food when another dog is present. He is registered with the city of Springfield and does have a file for biting. He literally shows zero aggression unless there is food involved. What you need: The time he needs/deserves Room for a cattle dog. At the very least, a very large yard. No apartments or small yards. Bedding for his crate & food bowls. What he will have: Large kennel/crate, food, tons of toys, treats for months, grooming supplies, leash, collar, harness& pack, any sprays/supplies for him.
