Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:  01/07/25 Reason for being in rescue: Evie arrived in rescue after being seized in a hoarding case. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Evie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 11.50 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Evie’s journey to trust and affection will take time. Evie has not been socialized with people and is still fearful of most things. While we are working to help her feel safe, she will need an adopter who understands that she will require patience, consistency, and gentle guidance. Evie would thrive in a calm, quiet environment where she can adjust at her own pace whether that’s with a single person, couple, or family. A home with another calm, well-adjusted dog would be ideal to help her learn from a canine mentor. We know there is a wonderful, loving girl inside of Evie. When you work with her, she will learn how to trust and love and will become your loving companion. The hard work and effort by the both of you will be well worth the loving reward! If you are an experienced dog owner with the time and patience to help Evie become the loving companion she’s meant to be, please come meet her. With your help, we know she will blossom into a loyal, affectionate friend. The hard work you put in will be rewarded with a bond that’s worth every effort and the love you receive in return will have made all worthwhile. What is my personality like? Meet Evie, a resilient girl who was seized in a hoarding case, landed at a shelter, and was ultimately brought to CPR where she gave birth to a litter of puppies. Now that her pups have been weaned and found their forever home, Evie is ready to focus on becoming the loving companion she deserves to be. Evie is very fearful and needs plenty of time and support to learn to trust. Evie is a blank slate when it comes to training—simple commands like "come" and "stay" are unfamiliar to her. She needs to learn that things like the sound of a can opener, a closing door, or the garbage disposal aren’t monsters out to get her. It's going to take time, effort, and a lot of love for Evie to develop into the confident, loving pet she can be. Evie has been through a lot—from life in a filthy home full of dogs to an overcrowded shelter, and finally to a farm as a new mother. Now it’s time for her to decompress and learn to trust that people aren’t so scary, and that life can be peaceful. How do I act when I first meet new people? Evie is afraid of people and will need time to adjust before she feels comfortable. Other tips and tidbits: Evie was born on or about 12/28/23. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 30, 2025, 2:36 pm

Story
Meet Henry – A Gentle Soul Ready for the Love He’s Never Known Just look at that face — the kind, hopeful eyes and the biggest, most joyful grin you’ve ever seen. That’s Henry, and he’s smiling because, at 6 years old, he just experienced his very first bath. A small thing to most dogs, but for Henry, it was a moment of love, care, and attention he had waited a lifetime to feel. It was his spa day — a celebration of a fresh start, of a life that’s finally turning a corner. Henry’s story begins back in 2019, when he was just a 6-week-old pup, full of wonder and trust. He was adopted by a family who, sadly, didn’t keep that promise of forever. He was soon discarded — left behind at a relative’s house where he lived largely ignored and forgotten. When asked if they wanted him back, the answer was chilling: “If I get him, I’ll just take him out in the field and shoot him.” But that wasn’t the end of Henry’s story. That was the beginning of his rescue. Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, wrapping him in the care, safety, and dignity that he always deserved. And Henry? Despite the heartbreak, despite the neglect, he is still one of the sweetest, most forgiving, most loving dogs you could ever meet. His heart is big. His spirit is unbroken. And his tail still wags with hope. Henry is an Australian Shepherd mix, weighing 41 pounds — a perfect size for cuddling, road tripping, and everything in between. He’s wonderful with people, great with other dogs, and so eager to learn. He's still brushing up on house manners, but his intelligence and desire to please make him a joy to work with. He’s gentle, solid, and has a calm presence that brings peace wherever he goes. Henry has never truly had a family that saw him — not really. Not as the loyal, loving, tender-hearted companion he is. But that’s going to change. Because the right person, the right family, will see the treasure he is. They’ll see the gratitude in his eyes, the joy in his walk, the comfort in his quiet companionship. He’s ready to be your couch buddy, your walking pal, your faithful shadow. He’s the perfect age — past the puppy chaos, but with years of life and love still ahead. What he needs now is someone to show him that he’s home. For good. If you feel your heart pulling toward Henry — if you believe in second chances and forever love — please reach out. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask about Henry. Let’s write the next chapter of Henry’s story — one filled with laughter, security, adventure, and above all, love. He’s waited a long time. Now it’s his turn         PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 19, 2025, 1:16 pm

Story
This is Blue Eyed Lola and she came to our rescue as a very starved nursing momma dog with 6 puppies draining her daily while nursing.  She had been a stray with no food provided for her as she tried to keep her babies alive.  She has now put back on her weight and a tad more than needed but she is safe and loved and trying to find her new family to love.  She is a timid but extremely calm girl that is an Aussie mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She just wants to belong to someone and her foster mom is so touched by her sweet soul and how she tries to almost be invisible in life and not be a problem.  She needs some confidence building and some training that will make her feel smart!  She is good with other dogs and very submissive to them.  She is just fine with cats and almost completely housebroken.  We love our little Blue Eyed Lola and want the rest of her life to be easy and for her to a treasured part of someone’s family or even a single person’s BFF.  She is great on a leash and rides very well in a car.  She is ready to explore life with someone that wants her to come along.  Lola will be forever grateful to have a chance to love you.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  Let us know where you live:  city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 29, 2025, 10:45 pm
