Story
Bach really needs a Forevrer home and a patient one at that. The longer he's in the rescue the lower his confidence becomes. I am completely tied down with all the animals on my plate finding one on one time is near impossible currently. Bach is around 9 months old and a Australian shepherd/heeler mix around 28lbs. He is very apprehensive of new people and the last/only meet and greet he had, he wouldn't come near me or the adopter and just paced and shook 😭 the adopter ended up adopting Roscoe instead. Bach isn't a bad dog in fact he loves me and seeks pets and play from me and my sister, when it's only us around, but throw a stranger in the mix and he's scared, barking and won't come near you even for the treats he's so motivated over 😔 Bach really needs a patient home who can love him through this. Bachs good with other dogs his size and bigger, and he's ignored the cats here, but he has tried to herd some of the smaller dogs and they're not at all a fan on that so he needs a home with no dogs smaller then him. While he has never bitten me or my sister, my mom has said he's nipped her twice on the knee while letting him outside . He really needs a family familiar with these herding types and willing to give him alot of adjustment time. Hes going to be scared of anyone and any new area for a while. Even when he first came to our rescue months back with his brother, the first few weeks they were shut down and they were much younger pups at this time. Were not sure if they're were abused as young pups or if they simply were unsocilaized for the start. Bach will require a home with a fenced in yard and he will need a home with no kids. His adoption fee is waived to a perfect home and we are open to rescue transfers or a foster /trainer who can help us with him too. Bach is being failed in our home and it is not fair to him. Location: Cosby Tennessee 📌

Story
In Oliver Springs: This sweet girl is Misty. She is an 11-month-old Aussie blend puppy and gets along well with other dogs but can be bossy and will take toys away from other dogs and show resource guarding with toys and the couch. No growling but barks and is EASILLY CORRECTED. She is fine with less dominant dogs and seems to like and respect the foster mom’s female more than the male although they all play well together. She is loveable but can be a bit intense because of her size and puppy energy. She seems to love everyone she meets. No small children because she’s so big and high energy. She is a barker and will bark at other dogs when she sees them, but it seems like it’s because she wants to play and just gets excited. Misty does well in the car and loves to go for rides. She walks okay on a leash but needs more work to not pull. She does jump up on people because she is so excited to meet everyone, but we have been working with her, and she is getting better. She will counter surf and needs more work and correction and since she is still a puppy, she will also chew blankets, toys, shoes if available, so proper puppy toys should be available and important items kept out of reach until she is older. We do crate her when we are out and at night and she does great and will go in when offered a treat. She will chase cats because she’s still a puppy and thinks the noises they make sound fun to play with. I think she may grow out of this with a dog savvy cat. Mine just avoid her. Misty is a bundle of love with no concept of her size. She was 68 pounds on her last vet visit and is about 11 months old now. She will lay on top of you for love, snuggles and affection. She has so much love to give. If she sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee that includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.

Story
In Maryville: Hey! I'm Nelly, DOB 11/22/24! I live with my foster mom currently in Vonore, TN area! I was rescued from a shelter with ASF and I haven't had a great start. My background is unknown, however I do have some issues with nervousness and new people! While I'm a puppy, I prefer not to be picked up/approached. If approached I will tend to run away from you. Loud, sudden movements will make me jump. I will come to you, but coming or walking to me makes me anxious. My foster mom says I will get over this fear if someone works with me on building trust with humans! I get along with dogs fantastically! I tend to follow my foster sister around everywhere. I am her shadow. I play with her, cuddle with her, and look to her for guidance. I would do best in a home with another dog that will bring me comfort and teach me how to be a puppy! I need some potty training/leash training/basic training but I'm very smart and food motivated! Despite my skittishness I will listen for treats! I struggle on a leash because I get anxious being approached by people. However, when my personality comes out while I am playing with other dogs or on the occasion I play with my foster mom, I am a hilarious goofball that's just like any puppy! All I need is some love and patience! PS, I would do best with a slow feeder so that I do not get sick!! If I sound perfect for your family, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family .

Story
In Maryville: These sweet girls in NE-Tenn are ready for their furever home!! Starburst(deaf dm) and Ariel(border collie) came to us as owner surrenders through no fault of their own. At 11 years young, the girls are still full of life and would love to land with a family to fulfill their golden years. The loving bond these girls have makes me feel they must stay together. They play so well together and lounge together, but they also have a wonderful sense of autonomy. The girls are dog, cat, VERY kid friendly. They are very pleasant to take out and about. They pay no mind to others passing by while on walks at the park. They do need help in and out of the car. I would say the girls are approx 40 lbs. House broken, leash, and crate trained. They are fully UTD on all medical care. These girls are such little loves!! If you are interested in more info, please reach out via email and fill out the application --both listed below! https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Our senior fee is $230 and we are going to waive one of the fees to keep this bonded pair together. There is an additional $20 microchip fee per pup which includes registration and transfer to their new furever family.

Story
In Maryville, TN: Starburst (white) & Ariel (black)2 very happy 11 yr old sisters looking for their forever home to spend their golden years. They're Spayed, UTD, & on preventatives and an absolute JOY to be around and will give you ALL their love & snuggles. They both love to be loved on. Starburst and Ariel are bonded in a way that makes us feel it’s best if they remain together. They’ve spent their entire lives together! If you provide stairs, they'll happily join you in bed for snuggles. Ariel can jump on the couch. Starburst, being short legged, does need assistance getting up on the couch/bed. Starburst is deaf & knows a few sign commands. She responds SO well to positive faces/smiles, the “come here” motion with your hands, & will run up to you looking for pets and loving. She is a very happy, simple girl. Once she gets comfortable with you, she likes to get head scratches, body scratches and moves into belly rubs. She makes grunt noises when she gets so excited while getting scratches. Miss Starburst is curious and likes to watch what's going on and joins in when there’s love to be given. She watches the other dogs wander around the yard, and will lay on the patio watching the day go by, soaking up the sun. This girl is a food connoisseur – she knows where you hide the treats and will often stand near where they are giving you “the eye” for a little snack. Starburst DOES look to Ariel for direction of where she is supposed to be or what's going on. The girls do give each other kisses & groom each other’s faces & ears often. Both girls are always smiling and wagging their tails. They have both been professionally groomed and did great! Starburst will likely need grooming a few times a year as her coat is thicker and can get a bit matted if unbrushed. Ariel has a slicker coat but still needs basic grooming maintenance. If you can groom them yourself, that’s even better! Ariel is curious and likes to trot around the yard with her nose in the air smelling everything and soaking up the sunshine. She does like to follow her foster moms’ dogs around the yard and make sure she gets to check out what the other dogs are checking out (squirrels, birds). She is not chicken friendly if chickens are free roaming. If they are caged, she does not mind them. Ariel likes to sit in the grass and relax. Ariel LOVES the couch and will hang out in her crate, on her own, if the door is left open. Storms: Ariel does have storm fears. She looks to her humans for comfort and support during thunderstorms. She wants to be in your lap throughout the duration of the storm and be comforted with soft pats and telling her it’s ok. Starburst, being deaf, does not mind storms and has no reaction to them. I do believe she has some awareness of “vibrations or feeling of movement” as she does perk up a bit when the thunder shakes the house. Outside & Activity Level: Starburst and Ariel do pull at first on leash. They get excited to smell new smells. They do great in a fenced in yard. They like to wander around a little bit and since they are older, they like brief adventures in the yard and then lay down on the patio and watch the day go by. These girls would be best for a home who does not plan on heavy adventuring. They would do great with a short walk and a yard to relax in. These are not girls who are looking for heavy traffic, busy lifestyles. They DO like car rides and enjoy looking out the window. Other dogs: They do bark at first at other dogs but adjust quickly once they get to know other dogs. We do not recommend a dog park for these older ladies as they are on the delicate side. They do get overwhelmed with very playful, strong dog personalities wanting to play with them. They do shy away from dogs who are heavy on the physically playful side. Dog friends who like to sniff the yard together and wander around while respecting each other’s space is preferred for these ladies. Medical: Both girls have a few lumps (old lady lumps) that have been checked by a vet and are due to age. Ariel is slightly aged in the back legs and the vet said it might be a bit of arthritis, but no treatment has been recommended at this time as Ariel is not bothered and does not show signs of pain. Starburst is a bit overweight so it would be beneficial to lose a few pounds as it can be heavy on her joints, especially being older. Neither girl lets these things hold them back! If you are looking for a pair of snuggle bugs to hang out with and make room in your heart, bed, and couch, then these are the girls for you. Don’t let their age fool you, they've got plenty of spunk in them with lots of life & love left to give. If you interested in giving these ladies a loving home to spend their golden years, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Our senior fee is $230 but we will waive one fee to adopt them as a pair. There is a $20 microchip fee for each to register and transfer to their new family.
