Story
Brownie Border Collie mixes are herding breeds which will try to herd every. Brownie loves to chase water spraying out of hose and the tennis ball. She didn't have positive experiences with humans or little. She wouldn't let me touch her for weeks but now enjoys scratches under her chest and ears. She may still avoid fast movements towards her. Let her come to you. She is leary of being trapped in small spaces like doorways. She likes to keep track of everyone and everything. She has been started on a leash but needs more work. I would suggest a harness. She's extremely smart and figures out patterns quickly. Calm low voices are the best around her avoid high squeaky voice. She's trained to stay in a crate overnight and is good if she can see you. I use the word "kennel" and toss a treat in for her. Positive reinforcement will be key as she learns to trust you. Avoid any physical correction as a sharp verbal, no, she understands. She gets along well with other dogs and has been great in the house. I have been using the word "go potty," and she seems to understand. She has one potientally bad habit you should discourage. She barks at her reflection, even though it's funny at first be sure to stop it or it will become an annoying habit. Feeding schedule 6 am, noon and 6 pm you can probably switch to twice a day soon. Take to your vet within first week and follow continued vaccination requirements. Please ask staff for my contact information.

She can run very fast and can not be caught if she she doesn't want to. She extremely smart and figures out patterns quickly. She will need lots of exercise and supervision. Calm low voices are the best around her avoid high squeaky voice. But in a few weeks she will bond with you and follow you everywhere. Sirius' Story Meet Sirius. If you're looking for a dog who is already well on his way to being the perfect family companion, Sirius may be your guy. Since moving into his foster home in January 2026, Sirius has been thriving. He's fully housetrained and has proven himself to be an easygoing, adaptable dog who fits seamlessly into daily life. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, making him a fantastic candidate for a variety of homes. But what really makes Sirius special is his heart. Sirius is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much. A kind word, a gentle "good boy," a scratch behind the ears, or simply being included in whatever you're doing is enough to make his tail wag. He has a calm, loving nature and a sweet personality that makes him easy to love and even easier to live with. Whether he's relaxing with the family, hanging out with his canine friends, or simply soaking up attention from his people, Sirius approaches life with a quiet happiness that's impossible not to admire. Sirius has spent months proving what a wonderful companion he can be. Now he's ready for a forever family to see what his foster family already knowsthat he's truly one of those special dogs who makes life a little better just by being part of it. Could Sirius be the missing piece your family has been looking for? Sirius is neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adopter may also take advantage of a FREE four-week training program through Sublime K9 in Jefferson City, covering leash skills, basic commands, and owner education. Noah's Arc is volunteer-run, and meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment only.

Story
Sienna's Story Meet Sienna. Sienna is the kind of dog who won't be the first to run up and demand attentionbut give her a little time, and she'll show you just how special she is. This beautiful girl has a gentle, sensitive soul and prefers to take her time getting comfortable in new situations. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. Sienna forms deep bonds with the people she trusts and loves being close to her favorite humans. Because she can be overwhelmed by busy environments, Sienna would do best in a calm home with adults, empty nesters, or a family with older children (9+ years old). She thrives with patience, consistency, and people who understand that confidence grows at different speeds for different dogs. One thing we know for sure is that Sienna loves other dogs. Having a canine companion helps her feel secure and brings out her playful side. She would likely enjoy a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can help show her the ropes and remind her that the world isn't such a scary place. Watching Sienna gain confidence has been one of the greatest joys for our volunteers. The dog who starts out shy soon reveals a loving, loyal companion who simply wants to feel safe and loved. To help set Sienna up for success, her adopter may take advantage of a basic four-week training program through Sublime K9 in Jefferson City at no cost. The program covers leash skills, basic commands, and strengthening the bond between dog and owner. Sienna isn't looking for a perfect familyshe's looking for a patient one. Someone willing to give her the time she needs to settle in and discover that she's finally home. Could that be you?

Story
Annie was abandoned at my rescue door step. She was covered in ticks and matted fur but was so sweet. After getting her cleaned up and healthy she is ready for her forever home. She is a herding dog and has LOTS of energy! She would do well in an active household. Annie loves kids and people but she can be dog selective and I would NOT recommend a home with smaller pets. Annie is very intelligent and eager to please. I beleive she is purebred but we have not had her embarked.
