Story
Meet Beautiful Margo Margo was discovered after her mamma was hit by a car. Her rescuer bottle fed her until she was old enough to eat on her own. Unfortunately, during that time she developed Distemper and was part of a neglect/hoarding case while with her foster before she was transferred to our rescue. Although she had a rough beginning, Ms.Margo has proven to be a fighter! It takes her some time to trust new people and who can blame her after all she has been through, but once she does she is your silly, super loving best friend She is playful, smart, food/treat motivated, dog friendly, house and crate trained. All she needs is a family of her own. Fill out an application today!

Needs special attention,
Story
Ridge is a smart 3 month old Australian Shepherd mixed puppy.  Despite being blind and deaf, he can easily get around. He is always searching for his human companion, and is always up for a wrestling match with his puppy brother. Ridge will do best in a home with older kids, as toddlers can be unexpected and he gets startled easily if approached too fast. He loves his human kid companions ages 5 and 8. He also gets along great with his dog siblings and is very submissive.  He pays no attention to cats or the chickens. He does well in his crate and is working on housetraining.  Ridge will be your best nap buddy! Once you look into his blue sky eyes you will fall in love with the sweetest pup. Good luck finding a better Netflix and couch partner! At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application, if you are interested in any of our animals. Application at www.greendogsunleashed.org If you send an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. No, we cannot tell you if he would be a match for your family without seeing an application. PLEASE KEEP READING for info. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for the next 48 hours, for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/* We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time. For more information about our mission and for an APPLICATION for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com. GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##1700328##

Story
Smokey is a 1 year old neutered, up to date on shots, male blue heeler, around 45lbs, he’s good with kids and other dogs, he’s not mean or aggressive with cats he just hasn’t been around many. He needs a home with someone that’s willing to take the time and train him, he’s currently living in a pen and has so much built up energy, so when anyone goes in to feed him he jumps on them. He just wants a family to call his own and throw his ball for him and let him be part of a family, in the house with them. He’s very sweet and loving and very very smart , which without a active family to help entertain him, can get him in trouble, he’s all puppy and playfulness. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
JoJo is a 1.5 year old Border Collie who loves to have fun. This handsome boy is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is also HW tested negative and microchipped. Jojo was surrendered to us because he killed a neighbors chicken, so a no chicken home is a must. He lived outside all day and came in to a crate at night. JoJo is a sweet, happy boy that would love to be part of an active family. Obedience was a breeze for him and his recall is improving every day. JoJo likes to fetch a ball and swim every chance he gets. He is highly intelligent and athletic and would excel in any dog sport especially agility, flyball, dock diving, and frisbee. Although he does not potty in the house, he should be supervised until he can be fully trusted indoors on his own. JoJo will require lots of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him well behaved, so no apartment life and no couch potatoes. For more info on JoJo, or for an application, please contact omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com
