Meet Winston, the happiest and goofiest boy! Winston is an approximately 1 year old Australian Shepherd mix that will steal your heart! He is about 35 lbs (still has some filling out to do), neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.
Winston is mostly potty trained and can typically be kenneled for several hours before needing to go potty. He knows basic obedience like sit, lay down, come, wait, and leave it. He is higher energy and does still have some puppy behaviors like wanting to tear up toys and counter surfing. These behaviors are easily curbed with observation and consistency. A little redirection goes a long way.
Winston loves people! He has yet to meet a person that he does not instantly want to give kisses. He is kennel trained and goes in well for a treat or Kong. He will get into things and pace a lot if he is not kenneled during the day when no one is home. He is a super chewer, but thankfully he limits his chewing to dog toys mostly. Did I mention that he is OBSESSED with toys! Be prepared to pick up every single toy that you own on a regular basis.
Winston would love at least one other dog friend to play with. He gets along with most everyone (cats, dogs, chickens), with the exception that he has not been tested around kids or small dogs. He loves the cats and will try to follow them everywhere and play with them if they’ll let him. He can be a little overwhelming to them sometimes, but the “leave it” command gets him to stop quickly. He will chase if they run. We suggest no cats, unless you have a confident and dog savvy cat that is not scared of dogs.
Winston is an absolute sweetheart. He would be great for anyone looking for an active, playful pup. Being in his humans personal space and squeaking toys are his favorite things to do.
