Story
We are looking to rehome our very loving 6.5 year old Australian Retriever as it is no longer safe to have him in our home with our toddler and newborn. For background, our Australian Retriever, Hunter, has been a wonderful part of our family. He has a history of not being great with other dogs unless he is comfortable with them but has never showed any signs of aggression towards humans. Unfortunately, a little over a year ago, he did bite our 10 month old daughter and we were told it was a "warning snip", but she did require stitches. We kept them separated and worked on reintroduction over time per our vet's recommendation and spoke with a behavioral therapist, always monitoring them constantly. Unfortunately, he did snip and growl at our 2 year old recently and we do not feel comfortable continuing to have him in our home with 2 small children. He is an amazing dog for those without little kids and we are hoping to find him a loving home that can be a better fit for him.

Story
I have had Franklin since he was eight weeks old, he was born in February 2021. He is an absolute fantastic dog it’s just that my health hasn’t been good and I’ve known it for sometime, bad knees that limit my mobility. It’s the worst thing that I ever have to do. Just the thought of having to rehome him, but he deserves better. He deserves ability to run and be put to task to play (we do play and go to the park). He’s loving and always right next to me. He’s a goofy sleeper, paws up in air (hilarious). He’s over the terrible baby years, albeit dogs are not perfect, but to me he is: he has never once got into the trash in the kitchen once even with the trash lid open that some dog he does have some faults and we all do but there’s so few that happen that he’s just a dog, but he is the best dog and he will make a loving family pet. I have nine grandchildren and he has never once , growled or nipped. Limited space to write more!
