Without a home commitment, Clyde won’t be able to make the trip north. Meet Clyde Clyde’s story is one of heartbreak and hope. Found as a stray like so many others, this young boy ended up in a crowded Arkansas shelter where the environment has been overwhelming for him. At just about 2 years old, Clyde is struggling with shelter life—but his gentle soul shines through. Clyde is dog friendly and people friendly, and while he hasn’t been tested with cats yet, he shows no signs of aggression. In the shelter, he was too scared to leave his kennel, choosing instead to lay down and tremble. But once given some gentle love and reassurance, Clyde melted—rolling onto his back for belly rubs and soaking up every bit of affection. Those sweet, puppy-dog eyes say it all. Because he’s still in the shelter, his potty training, crate training, and leash manners are works in progress. What we do know is that Clyde is kind, sensitive, and ready to blossom once he’s out of the stressful shelter environment and into a home where he feels safe. We are sure that once he has some time to settle into a home, he will be a completely different dog than the scared boy in the shelter. You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. Arriving in WI on January 9th! Bagel is a handsome on 1 year old male. He weighs about 12 pounds, and while he could stand to gain a little, we do not expect him to get much bigger. He has a beautiful coat and stunning blue eyes. Bagel loves people and plays well with other dogs. He is working hard on his potty training skills, but his forever family should be prepared to do more training while he learns the routine in his new home. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. He will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, January 9th, and will be available to meet, and take home if he is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. His adoption fee is $750, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. We use those funds to support our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south eastern Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $375, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday January 9th. If upon meeting, he is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent him from finding his forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. If placing a deposit is not the right fit for your family, we invite you to our adoption event at our office in Muskego on Sunday January 11th, where you can meet all of our available pups, no deposit necessary.
