Story
Age: 2y Gender: Male Breed: Pocket Bully mix Weight: 40 Personality: He’s chill and a couch potato about 90% of the day. The other 10% he likes to run around the backyard and get his zoomies out and play with his dog friends. Boogie LOVES food and will eat anything and everything you give him, he’s a literal garbage disposal. He needs to be fed in a slow feeder so he doesn’t throw up his food from eating so fast because he likes to inhale his food. He should be fed separately away from any other dogs or else he WILL try to eat their food too. Friendliness: Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes Kids: Yes Education: Bathroom in training, crate trained, leash trained (but does pull slightly initially from excitement) Favorite Activities: FOOD! Walks around the block, car rides, cuddling and snuggling, giving kisses, belly scratches, ripping up empty boxes, KIDS! He loves kids almost as much as he loves food! Looking For: Boogie would do great in any type of household. He really loves his humans and especially kids and loves to be with his people as much as possible. He’s fully crate trained and has zero separation anxiety so he could definitely be ok with a working family too, as long as they promise to cuddle and spoil him when they’re home. Due to his breed, he can’t and shouldn’t go for super long and strenuous walks or hikes, but Boogie is always down for an adventure, he loves going places! He does great in the car and just loves being around people, especially if he gets belly rubs in the process. He’s great at bars and restaurants and loves the attention, so if you’re looking for a buddy you can take everywhere with you, Boogie is your boy! Special Needs: None If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick you can take just about anywhere, look no further – I’m your guy!  My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##2613955##

Age: 1y4m Gender: Male Breed: Micro Bulldog mix Weight: 34 Personality: Super sweet and very low maintenance. He is so chill! It takes some time for him to warm up to new people, but once the trust is earned, he becomes very playful and affectionate. Friendliness: Dogs: No Cats: No Kids: No Education: Mostly Potty Trained, getting better by the day, and getting better at leash training Favorite Activities: He loves human attention, is very food motivated, and loves to play with his toys. He will need an adult-only home who are respectful of space, and help redirect him when needed. No cats please! Special Needs: Taking Prozac (~$5 for a month’s supply. Story
ABOUT ME: She is very affectionate. She likes to go for walks in the afternoons, but only in nearby places because she gets tired. She likes to be petted. She loves lying inside. She doesn't like the heat. She likes chicken, kibble, and purified water. She likes having her tummy rubbed. GENERAL BEHAVIORS: *People Friendly: Yes *Dog Friendly: Yes *Cat Friendly: Yes *Potty Trained: Yes *Crate Trained: Yes *Energy Level: High *Leash Trained: Yes *Car Trained: Yes *Does it like to be petted? Yes *Territory marking and biting issues: None *Food Aggressive? No *Does it need a house with a yard? No *Does it need a sibling dog? Not necessarily *Can it live in an apartment? Forks RESCUE STORY: About a year and a half ago I found her on my private porch. I posted it on the neighbors' group if she was lost. Her guardians came for her at night many hours later. Two days later she went by, and I found her again on the street. I located the dog, and she followed me. I took her back and told her guardians. They came for her two days later. I stipulated that if I found her alone on the street again, I wouldn't return her. Five days later, and the guardian's minor children handed her over to me with her food. They told me that their parents were separated and that the dog belonged to their father, who had gone to Los Angeles, CA. That I couldn't take her, and that her mother didn't want her. I accepted them.

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Introducing Anona!  Anona is a sweet and spunky 4-year-old French Bulldog mix weighing 26 lbs. True to her breed, she’s full of personality and charm, and she’s guaranteed to make you smile every single day. Anona loves people and greets everyone like a new best friend. Because she doesn’t always realize her own strength, she’s best suited for a home without young children, though dog-savvy teens may be a good match. She enjoys a good game of fetch (though you’ll want to toss the toy with care, as she can get a little too excited) and absolutely adores car rides with the window down, ears flapping in the breeze. Walks are another favorite activity, but like most Frenchies, she’s prone to overheating, so several short strolls each day are ideal. A securely fenced backyard is a must for this curious girl—especially since she loves to spend time chasing lizards! Anona does best as the only pet in the home, as she isn’t comfortable around other dogs (and we’re not sure about cats). She has “bionic ears” and can be quite the little watchdog, alerting you to every sound—even at night. She would love to sleep in the same room as her person, but be ready for some adorable Frenchie snores. She’s independent enough to be left alone for an hour or two, but she thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time—such as a work-from-home or retired adopter who’s looking for a fun, loyal sidekick. She is strong-willed (in true Frenchie fashion!) and will benefit from consistent boundaries and obedience training to help her shine her brightest. Anona also has some skin sensitivities. She’s allergic to chicken and beef, so she’ll need a special diet, and she responds best to Cytopoint injections to help manage her allergies. With her big heart, playful energy, and lovable quirks, Anona will quickly steal yours. If you’re looking for a spirited companion who will keep life exciting and full of love, Anona is ready to meet you! She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.  Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  November 11, 2025, 11:57 am

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 26 pounds. She is very protective with her family, she loves take a nap by your side, and she likes go to walks. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. Story
DOB: August 2018Weight: 27 lbsDisposition: Confident, Inquisitive, PlayfulEthel was rescued on 5th August 2020 during a slaughterhouse closure together with another 14 dogs conducted by FOUR PAWS in Kampong Thom, Cambodia. After rescue she was housed at Animal Rescue Cambodia in Phnom Penh until she flew stateside at the beginning of December 2020 when she joined us at The Barking Lot.Ethel has the cutest little ears there ever was and their a dead giveaway for her Shar Pei roots! This lovely girl used to be timid around other dogs, especially at dinner time. Like many of our rescues who have been through traumatic experiences, she gets defensive about her food. The rest of the time, Ethel can be coy, but she is learning to trust again and is really relaxed with her caretakers. Ethel has a lovely, inquisitive nature and is building trust with new people daily. She enjoys handling and cuddles from people she trusts and is treat motivated. If you're interested in meeting Ethel, please visit our website and fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below.
