After 13-year-old Rhodey (formerly Little One) was surrendered to LA Animal Care & Control's Palmdale Shelter by his owners because they "could no longer care for him", we welcomed him as a Frosted Face. Rhodey is friendly with all humans & dogs, potty trained, and loves cuddles and giving kisses. In addition to getting along well with other dogs, Rhodey passed his on-site cat test, so if you have already have feline family members, don't let that keep you from considering this sweet pup! Rhodey went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him in a home setting. Here's the scoop from his Fling Mom: "Rhodey is a mellow, sweet old man who spends most of the day napping away. He was never destructive when we left him alone and was super sweet with our kids. He was also great with guests that came to the house. Rhodey loves ear rubs and going for short walks. Rhodey had zero problem with food being taken away. I even had to grab a bag of M&M's candy out of this mouth that my kids dropped, and he did not care at all that I reached directly into his mouth! He did not care if our other dogs were around when he was getting fed or if they tried to pick up the pieces of food that dropped on the floor. Rhodey was great around our little female dog and did not mind when she would try to play with him or steal treat that would fall from his mouth. Rhodey would do best in a home with only a few stairs. Since he seems to have limited hearing, we would give him a pet to let us know we needed his attention or used the harness to guide him into his kennel. He did great during bath time and had no problem being picked up to be put in the bath. Rhodey is the sweetest boy!" Rebel is a sweet 5 year old pure bred English Bulldog. My sister got her when she was a puppy and then due to a difficult pregnancy we took over care for Rebel. Rebel is an inside only dog. Her favorite activity outside of her naps is just sitting by you with a good bone. Rebel is definitely not for someone who needs or wants an active dog outside a few laps in the the yard or a nice but short walk. She has not experienced any of the typical bulldog health issues. Although she does not have allergies I’ve always fed her salmon or chicken. Rebel will need a check up, as an indoor dog with no health problems I am admittedly behind on shots. The only reason we are rehoming Rebel is due to an unexpected move. I see no issues with rehoming as her nature is lackadaisical. She has never shown any signs of aggression whatsoever with any other animals. She just wants love and company. I am not looking for a rehoming fee just want a good home.

It takes some time for him to warm up to new people, but once the trust is earned, he becomes very playful and affectionate. Friendliness: Dogs: No Cats: No Kids: No Education: Mostly Potty Trained, getting better by the day, and getting better at leash training Favorite Activities: He loves human attention, is very food motivated, and loves to play with his toys. He can play independently but loves a good game of tug-a-war with his people, too. Looking For: A loving and patient home who understands him and his breed requirements. He will need an adult-only home who are respectful of space, and help redirect him when needed. No cats please! Special Needs: Taking Prozac (~$5 for a month’s supply. Price depends on where purchased and market value) to help manage anxiety and fixation on objects while he continues his training.
