Story

Dottie is 4 years old and is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She loves people and is super cuddly. She does not do well with other dogs. She is okay with her brother (same liter), but is super aggressive with our older female dog. She will attack her brother over food or a toy sometimes. She loves walks, car rides and cuddling on the couch. She’s never met a person she doesn’t like. She has never been around cats, so we are unsure how she would do. Dottie has allergies and takes over the counter benadryl every day. She also has dry eye and takes daily drops in her right eye. She has had two entropian surgeries on her right eye and will not need further surgery.

Meet Miss Bridget Bergen, the sweetest bulldog there ever was. Bridget was an owner surrender. She is 34 pounds, 9 to 11 months old, and in picture perfect health! She loves to snuggle with her foster mommy, and is like a little shadow. She gets along well with the kids in the family, ignores cats, and gets along with the other pups. She’s just perfect. Bridget is still intact so will need to be spayed in the next week or so, but otherwise is ready for her forever family. Please put in your application today to meet this sweet girl! Flapjack is ready for the dog days of summer and still looking for her forever home. She loves all humans of all ages and participated in multiple school events. We do believe should do best with children that are a little older in her home. Flapjack is 5 years old and just under 50lbs. She is potty trained and crate trained. She loves to play tug of war or watch tv on the couch next to you. She will roll her potato like body over for belly rubs. Flapjack would do best as an only pet but would be happy to have human siblings. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. This guy is Dozer. He is a 9 year old English Bulldog who was rescued from his neglectful home on August 27th, 2024. He was kept primarily outside, in a crate or confined pin for years. Because of this, he isn’t properly socialized or trained. He is potty trained. He is crate trained. He lived with a family; a husband, wife and children, some of which were special needs. However, we have not personally seen him interact with children. They kept him confined because according to the previous owners, he had aggression with their chickens and cats. Because of this, he should be kept away from small animals, including small dogs. As for large dogs, he is unpredictable, and he will get along until he doesn’t. It’s best he’s alone. He loves to wander, so he shouldn’t be left outside without a leash or fence. Dozer is a great dog, who was dealt a bad hand. Looking for a home to retire in to live out his senior years.

Daizy's last owner's lifestyle changed so she was not given proper exercise. Along with excess feeding, she unfortunately is now overweight. The good news is she has already lost a few pounds, so measured meal portions and several walks a day are the key to her continued weight loss success and becoming her best self again. She is a true beauty and loves people. Daizy wants to be queen of her own domain, so she would prefer to be your one and only canine companion.
