Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 yo, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable underbite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  March 31, 2025, 4:37 pm

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Racee! Racee is a 7-year-old, 33 lb English Bulldog who was surrendered by her owner when they could no longer care for her and is on the lookout for a loving forever home. Racee is energetic, playful, and loves to keep her humans on their toes. She’s got some serious bounce—this Bulldog can jump pretty high, so be sure to keep those squeaky toys and balls handy for a fun game of fetch! Speaking of toys, squeaky toys and balls are her absolute favorite. Racee can be vocal when she wants attention, so be prepared for a chatty companion. While she was surrendered when her previous owner could no longer care for her, Racee’s spirit remains as strong as ever, and she’s ready to bring her personality into her new family. Racee would do best in a home without small children, where she can enjoy her playful side. Racee is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
Say hello to Archie! Archie is a 3-year-old English Bulldog who came to us an owner surrender as his owner was not able to care for him. Prior to coming to us, he lived much of his life in a crate where he was not well socialized or cared for. Archie has made huge strides since going into his foster home and we have found that he forms a deep and loving bond with his person, and we think he would do best in a home with one owner. He is looking for a confident, experienced owner who will spend time to help him reach his full potential. Archie is happy with other dogs, and would do fine with other dogs in the home but is best suited to a home without children and without a lot of foot traffic. He does well in a crate, and he is also house broken. Archie has quite the personality and loves to go for a ride in the car. In addition to car rides, he absolutely loves his toys and will entertain himself for hours on end. Archie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Please note that inquiries on this site are not monitored. To apply for a specific dog with Bulldog Haven NW rescue or submit a general application, please visit https://bulldoghavennw.org/apply/ My name is Gator Girl but my foster family has named me Gertie! I'm 35lbs of sweetness and spunk! I need a fully fenced yard as I tend to try and push my way out of the front door. I do good on the few stairs at my foster house so I think I'll be okay with more if needed! I get really excited when I see the leash but tend to zig zag when on a walk, but nothing too complicated! Car rides are TOP TIER in my book! So far cheese is my new favorite snack and I will RUN for it! I can tend to get a little carried away when playing and am a bit mouthy, so older children are ideal! I love a mid day snooze and to snuggle up on the couch with my foster parents! I like my foster sister but I'm not sure about the whole "rough house" thing!

To apply for a specific dog with Bulldog Haven NW rescue or submit a general application, please visit https://bulldoghavennw.org/apply/ Meet Fergus, a 7-year-old, 60-pound bundle of bulldog charm who is looking for a patient, understanding home. Fergus can be shy and reserved around new people and other dogs, so he thrives best with very slow introductions, or even better, in a home with no other pets and minimal visitors. Once he feels safe, he is an absolute sweetheart who adores being near his favorite humans. If you are hoping for a loyal, laid-back companion rather than an exercise partner, Fergus might be your perfect match, he'd much rather lounge at your feet than go for a long walk! With a bit of patience, love, and plenty of comfy spots to nap, Fergus will reward you with a lifetime of devoted companionship.
