If you are looking for a handsome, smart, sweet, dog and people friendly sweetheart, then you might just be looking for Biscuit! He's a 50 pound, one year old, red and cream fluffy beauty!   Biscuit's forever home needs a fenced yard and another playful dog as well as an adopter home more than not. A working from home parent who enjoys walking their pup is ideal.   To meet Biscuit in person submit our online application at www.DSDA.org/adopt.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##1939723##

Oh my gosh, are you here to read more about little ol’ me? Oh, where do I start! Well, I’m just a happy doggo trying to live my best life and match up with a new family. DAS is helping me search, isn’t that cool? We’re still getting to know each other, but I think we’re going to find me some great friends. I’ve let them know that I enjoy long walks on warm evenings, trying all kinds of new snacks, and chewing on doggie toys. Who doesn’t love those things? My name is Richard and my friends at the shelter tell me I am a very good boy. I can be a little shy at first, but if you give me a little bit of time I really come out of my shell. I walk very nicely on leash and the people here think I might be potty trained because I always try really hard to keep my room clean. I did come in as a stray, so my past is a mystery, but I'm excited to see what my future holds. Could it be with you?Foster Testimonial: "He is fantastic on a leash and might be an excellent running dog. At home, he coexisted peacefully with my cat. They could both be in the same room each doing their own thing. He did not bark but liked to know where the human was at all times and he followed me the whole time. I believe he will be an amazing bed or couch dog. I gave him permission to sit with me and he would join on his terms. He loved being on the bed by himself! He eats his medicine well, does not rush to eat, and loves chicken! While he takes time to warm up to people, he is ready to love!"Dogs: I've done well with other dogs including some small ones! I do prefer my play pretty low-contact and I generally am happy to just hang out with other dogs. If that sounds like your dog, I'm sure we will get along great. You are always welcome to bring your dog(s) to meet me before we head home.Cats: Sure! My foster home had a cat and I think they are pretty cool! Kids: Well, like I said I can be a little shy at first and since I came as a stray my friends don't know if I've ever been around kids. Hi I am Briar Rose! I am a sweet girl that is looking for a place to call home furever. I can be a bit shy and can scare pretty easily so ideally I would like a calm and quiet home where I can build my confidence.FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: "Once Briar is comfortable with you she loves to get belly rubs, snuggles and loves that you play catch with her. She also loves to be trained, we trained the whole week with treats and she clearly knows now the words sit, stay, leave it, heel, no, paw and lay down. Briar also can stay by herself at home pretty well without a crate. I left her two days in a row by herself for 2-3 hours (with camera) and she just slept the whole time. We got to completely house train her and she doesn't chew or go anywhere she isn't allowed to. Briar also knows how to potty and pee outside and in a pad."Dogs? I can be a little picky about my friends so I would really like to meet any other dogs in the home.If you are interested in meeting me, Come on in! We are open every day 12pm - 6pm.
