Story
Meet Belle! A sweet and soulful almost two-year-old Kelpie mix currently in Converse, TX, whose tricolor coat is just as vibrant as her heart is gentle. Belle is the kind of pup who melts into your side for a cuddle, flashes a warm-eyed smile at every passerby, and politely sits for treats with the elegance of a pup who’s clearly aced her obedience classes. Belle has completed multiple levels of training and knows commands like sit, stay, down, up, go, and kennel. She’s crate trained, house-trained, microchipped, and in tip-top health with all her vaccinations up to date. At about 30 pounds, she’s a perfectly portable medium-sized companion who enjoys car rides (she even comes with her own doggy seat belt!) and adores daily walks, chew toys, and cozying up with her people at the end of the day. While Belle is incredibly curious and gentle around cats, her current feline roommate isn’t quite as open to friendship. Because of that, she’s looking for a new loving home where peace and harmony can flourish, ideally one with a fenced yard and maybe even another dog to pal around with. Belle is especially happy in the company of other dogs and shines at the dog park, where her social butterfly side gets to come out and play! Her temperament makes her a great match for families with young children (ages three and up), other friendly dogs, and caregivers who value companionship and affection. She’s never shown aggression, handles being alone just fine for short periods, and keeps a calm, even-keeled presence that makes her a joy to share space with. To help ease her into her next chapter, her current guardian is sending her off with her full setup: a collapsible kennel, bed, toys, treats, leash and harness, fresh pet food, and even her travel gear. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, loyal girl who just wants to love and be loved? Belle might be the perfect new friend you didn’t know you were missing. Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and say hello to your next great adventure!

Story
This adorable tail-wagging pup is Olivia, listed as an Australian Kelpie that was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 10/4. My dog scanner suggests possibly Welsh Corgi, Cardigan and Rat Terrier in the mix. Olivia weighs 32 lbs and is about 7 mos old. Those soulful eyes and oversized ears give her such an adorable appearance! She knows a sit command and will do so for treats which she takes quite politely! She walks nicely on a leash. Olivia was so thrilled to get out of her kennel and romp around in the yard. As with a number of our dogs, she does jump on you. This is not abnormal and is a behavior that can be corrected. Naturally she has a lot of puppy energy and needs daily exercise and playtime. There is really so much to like about this mild-mannered girl and she would make someone a wonderful companion. She wants and deserves an inside life, bonding with her peeps and being an important part of the family.

Story
Gemi is an exceptional beautiful girl! She’s got a sleek glossy coat with gorgeous coloring! It looks like she’s been well taken care of. Gemi is a 10 mo old 39lb Australian Kelpie that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/22 as a stray. Gemi is very agile and likes to climb. She frolicked and galloped back-and-forth in the yard each time stopping to look up at me. She’s extremely fast. You might say she’s lively and quick. At one point when standing by the wall she reached over with her paw to get my attention! She won my heart with that move! She’s happy, sociable and playful. She did her business when she got out into the yard. She walked okay on a leash. She’s got a winning personality! She definitely needs a secured yard and lots of exercise and then would like to come back in the house to chill out with her new family.

Story
Meet Zuko, your new best friend with a playful personality and floppy ears to match! Zuko is a male 2.5 year old boxer/cattle dog mix that weighs about 40 lbs. He LOVES people and is so smart and eager to please. His favorite games are tug (with a rope or any toy he can manage) and he loves to go on walks and play outside. He loves his stuffies, peanut butter kongs, and carrots. Zuko is crate, potty, and leash trained, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines. He's good with other dogs and would love a playful friend to wrestle with, but is perfectly content getting attention from human friends only. He is not good with cats. He is curious about but mostly avoids babies/toddlers, but he does well with older children. He would do well with space to run and daily exercise. Zuko is a vocal dog that 'talks' (softly growls) for attention, but he has never been aggressive. He is currently on heartworm preventatives and is heartworm negative. He broke a toe a year ago and sometimes still favors that foot, but doesn't let it slow him down too much. Zuko will be your best bud and can't wait to shower you with love and attention. All he expects is the same treatment back! Story
Lillie Mae may be the perfect dog to step into your waiting household. At nearly two years old, she has learned all her basic skills from sleeping in her crate to taking care of business. Listening and knowing when to â&#194&#128&#194&#156leave itâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 and how to shake are part of her best qualities. Part of a full household, Lilly Mae might enjoy the attention of a small household but has spent time with other pups in her litter. Once she spends time with her new family, Lilly Mae's energy level will settle into her new playtime routine. To get started, chewing on a bone will always be a favorite pastime. She still needs a few final checks with her vet before moving to her forever home. Lillie Mae will definitely enjoy getting quality cuddle time and having a warm bed, a loving family, and a happy home of her own. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Story
Met Scooter! My husband and I are elementary school teachers and this sweet boy (now affectionately called Scooter) had been hanging around the school playground since the beginning of the year. When Animal Control came and said he would be euthanized that night, we couldnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t let that happen. We scooped him up and brought him to our in laws home in Frisco. He is good with other dogs, cats, and kids! Scooter has been nothing short of wonderful. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s gentle, loving, and great with kids. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has quickly adjusted to being indoors. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s vaccinated, neutered and has the sweetest, most even temperament, he especially loves rolling over for belly rubs and being close to people. This boy is the best and deserves the best home! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Scooter, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
