Shae is a sweet young lass. She's a big more tentative around new things than her brother, Simon, but warms up quickly. She likes to sit on your lap.  Shae would like to be your new BFF She needs to learn puppy manners. Shae comes to us from a shelter in rural southwestern Virginia. Shae and her brother, Simon, as well as their father, were seized from their owner for neglect (starvation). An anonymous donor has become Shae's Guardian Angel, in memory of her wonderful Bosnian street dog, Chloe. Gender:  Female DOB: Approx. 12/1/2023 Current size; 21 pounds PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. To learn more about Kai, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Kai is a bright, energetic little pup who is already learning all her basics. She’s working on sit, stay, and down, and she learns quickly—especially when treats are involved. Like any young puppy, she’s still mastering potty training, but she’s doing great with both the puppy pad and going outside. Every time she uses the pad or potties on her walks, she gets a treat and lots of praise. Kai has a playful spirit and loves to bounce around with her toys. She isn’t a big barker, but she’ll happily bark at her brother when she wants to start a game. She’s affectionate, loves attention, and will thrive in a home that gives her consistency and structure as she grows.

To learn more about Avery, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Avery is the calmer of the two, a sweet, gentle pup who loves his naps. He’s also doing well with potty training—going both outside and on the puppy pad—and he knows there’s a yummy treat waiting for him when he gets it right. He’s learning the same commands as his sister: sit, stay, and down, and he’s making steady progress. While Avery is quiet and relaxed indoors, he recently started giving a little bark at strangers when they’re outside the yard—he’s finding his voice, but in a thoughtful, gentle way. He’s affectionate, smart, and enjoys playtime, even if he’s not quite as energetic as his sister.
