To learn more about Ginger Rogers, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Ginger Rogers will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Meet Ginger Rogers, a girl who’s got the moves, the grooves, and the wiggles to match! This friendly, energetic pup may start off a little shy when meeting new people, but don’t blink—once she warms up, she’s all tail wags and happy hops, nosing in for pets. Ginger loves her walks and struts her stuff nicely on leash. New places can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but once she’s comfortable, she’s all about exploring. She seems to show a friendly interest in other dogs, greeting them with loose tail wags, playful hops, and the occasional excited yip. In true puppy fashion, Ginger has some gentle mouthiness when play mode kicks in, but she balances that energy with sweetness and charm. She adores treats (and takes them oh so gently) and loves affection. Currently rehearsing her basic commands, Ginger is a sweet, social girl who just needs a little time to warm up before she steals the show. If you’re looking for a pup with heart, hops, and plenty of personality, Ginger Rogers is ready to dance her way right into your life!

Story
Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small pup, huge heart!KORN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:    Korn       Best Guess for Breed:    Australian shepherd/terrier mix    Best Guess for Age:   11 weeks as of 1/14/26           SEX:  male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   5lbs as of 12/29/25   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Korn is Looking For:    Hiya! I'm Korn! Me and my littermates, Kadence, Kellie, Korey, Kelp, Kelsey, and Khalid have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Korn is very sweet and gentle. He's happy to let his brother run the show. He can be a little timid, but he very obviously loves people, he just needs a bit more of a gentle hand. And there's nothing he loves more than wrestling a stuffed animal that's about 3x his size! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 4/23/2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . Story
8 years old, 60 pounds Personality: good running partner, snuggler, playful, smart, adaptable, goofy/funny, outgoing, independent, energetic, and affectionate. Meet Corey, a goofy, big-hearted boy whose favorite things are cuddles, belly rubs, and being close to his people. He has a wonderfully balanced personality, affectionate and social without being clingy, and he is perfectly happy relaxing on the couch or in his crate while you get things done. Corey is house trained and can be trusted home alone uncrated, though he also loves his crate. He enjoys walks with plenty of sniffing, can keep a good pace on a run, and settles nicely at home without needing constant exercise. He’s incredibly smart — his growing repertoire of words includes “stay,” “go to your crate,” “bring it,” “give kisses,” “heel,” and “leave it.” He also loves puzzles and mental challenges. This funny guy is a charming “talker” who uses his voice and his beloved ball to communicate, sometimes adding a happy little growl of contentment when he gets his prize. He has made great progress with polite leash walking and calmer greetings, and he thrives with a consistent routine and clear boundaries. Corey would shine as an only dog or with an experienced adopter who is enthusiastic about continuing to help him develop his skills and training. Does this smart cookie sound like a fit for your home? Apply today to meet Corey! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Hi, my name is Prancer.  I was not left behind by Santa Claus.   I got my name from the way I run.  I don’t really run, I prance around.  It just makes you smile to watch me.  I am a wonderful little guy who loves life.  I am always happy.  My foster mom says I am happy no matter what and sometimes oblivious because of my happiness.  There is a doggie door to her deck.  My favorite game is to run around the den, through the kitchen, out the doggie door, and around the yard.  Then back in.  Each time I check to make sure my foster mom is still there.  Sometimes I am actually able to persuade a couple of my foster brothers to join me.  We have a blast.  I am not sure my foster mom has the same amount of fun.  But....we keep it up until it is time to take a nap. I have fit in great here and get along well with the other doggies, even the grouchy old men!  Again, I am oblivious to their opinion of me.  I am housebroken and crate-trained.  I know to go to my crate when treats are given out.  I also eat my breakfast and dinner in my crate.   I was originally living with a senior lady.  Unfortunately, we were not a good match.  As soon as Critter Cavalry learned of my dilemma, I was placed in a more suitable home.  I am happy to hang out here until I find my forever home.   I would love a home with an active family that will take me places with them.  I am learning to walk on a leash so I can go walking and maybe even hiking with you.  If you are into agility, I am your man.  As you have already read, I am actively practicing my skills.  I would also be a great companion for a family with older children.  As an Australian Shepherd mix, I am an active boy who needs a job.  A fenced-in yard is also a must for me.   Prancer is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. To apply or learn more, email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. (He is in Tennessee and can be transported north after adoption. Approved application and fee required.)      January 13, 2026, 6:14 pm

Story
Tommy came from a high kill shelter in TX, where not many get out of. We saw pictures of him and thought what a stunning dog. Tommy is a typical herding dog and will stay right by your side. He loves to run and play and very smart. He would love a fenced in yard to play with a buddy. He loves walks around the neighborhood with his foster family. He does get a bit scared when cars go by and is learning they are not going to get him. He does not pull on a leash. Very sweet dog. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out as the foster mum would love to tell you more. If you are interested in this handsome fellow please email us at Doginghamrescue@aol.com so we can send you an application. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $450 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
Hi, my name is Zara! I am a beautiful gray and white 3-year-old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix. While ladies typically don’t disclose their weight, I am about 50 lbs. If you are a smart and active person or couple looking to adopt a dog with a similar temperament, then we could be a great match! I love going for walks and would appreciate having someone who can incorporate that into my daily routine. Getting outside for exercise is something I enjoy, and I would also make an excellent running companion. Visiting the park or going on hikes would be a lot of fun, too! Not to brag, but I believe I'm quite a looker, and I’m confident that if you took me to the park, we would make lots of friends together. While I love people, I am not used to being around other dogs, so a dog park wouldn’t be suitable for me. However, I’m always up for hanging out where the people are! I’m also a bit too energetic for young children; I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than they are and might accidentally knock them over. It would be wonderful if someone in the household could work from home, as I am crate-trained but don't like spending long hours alone. I thrive on human interaction and am seeking a loving home.  I promise to return your love! If you would like to be considered for my forever family, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. Please note that an approved application and adoption fee are required. (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)    July 30, 2025, 9:47 pm
