Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Gorgeous girl seeks adventure and love! MILA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Mila     Best Guess for Breed:  Australian Shepherd mix, with some other type of shepherd   Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of April 2025       Gender:   Female Approximate Weight:   45 lbs Gets Along With:Other dogs! We haven't seen him/her with kids or cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living At: DC area foster home home. Mila is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie with the gorgeous piercing blue eyes landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans again. Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, all those adventures to burn off that awesome young-dog energy - yes, please! She'd also love to go to dog school to show how super smart she is.  What she wants most of all, though, is to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. To know she's a cherished part of a family. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship and to always put a smile on your face. What do you say? Is Mila the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: She is great in the car. She laid down and settled in quickly once she was in. She enjoys wrestling with the other dogs. She is affectionate and loves to give kisses. She LOVES toys. She has been trying them all and making a little pile for herself in the corner. She is very expressive with her tail wags. She is working on both leash and house training. Medical: Mila is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Mila has completed the treatment and activity restriction phase, and is awaiting her six month follow up test. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Hi, everyone. My name is Special Stella, and I am a beloved, fun, well-trained 5 year old Yellow Lab/Aussie mix girl that is only 50 pounds and who is looking for a new home without young children.  I have been with my young couple, mom and dad.For the past four years, and I have been very happy and loved. And during that time, it was discovered that young energetic children made me nervous.   Now my mom and dad are having a baby and they say it would be best if I went to a home with no young young children and yeah, would be best.If I was the only dog unless I lived with a submissive male, that would not challenge me to be the top dog.   I have lived with a cat and my only bad habit is I love cat food. I am housebroken and crate, trained and leash trained, and I know commands. And I am a very good girl. That will be your buddy, rick riding around town and your suv or a pickup truck or going out on the lake in the boat for the summer months.  I'm really a good girl, but I just have 2 things that I probably do. Don't meet in my life and that is a dominant dog around me and young children. That are you being what god made them to be,  young, energetic and loud and sometimes a little too quick to make movements that make me nervous.   We are all heartbroken that I have to find a new home. Critter Cavalry promised my Dad, who originally adopted me just to be his buddy before he got married, that they would help me find the perfect place for me to live out the next ten years or more of my life.   I promise to be the best companion you've ever had.   Please consider me to come and live with you and watch TV. At your feet or go for hikes. In the woods or just take naps in the afternoon on a lazy Winter day.  I am fully vetted and microchipped and come with great dog manners and very few bad habits. Unless you have a cat and I try to eat their food.  Please consider me and write to Critter.Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Tell them where you live: city and state.   They are based in Tennessee and not only adoot to Tennessee, but also transport to the Northeast.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 27, 2025, 10:05 pm

Story
This is Blue Eyed Lola and she came to our rescue as a very starved nursing momma dog with 6 puppies draining her daily while nursing.  She had been a stray with no food provided for her as she tried to keep her babies alive.  She has now put back on her weight and a tad more than needed but she is safe and loved and trying to find her new family to love.  She is a timid but extremely calm girl that is an Aussie mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She just wants to belong to someone and her foster mom is so touched by her sweet soul and how she tries to almost be invisible in life and not be a problem.  She needs some confidence building and some training that will make her feel smart!  She is good with other dogs and very submissive to them.  She is just fine with cats and almost completely housebroken.  We love our little Blue Eyed Lola and want the rest of her life to be easy and for her to a treasured part of someone’s family or even a single person’s BFF.  She is great on a leash and rides very well in a car.  She is ready to explore life with someone that wants her to come along.  Lola will be forever grateful to have a chance to love you.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  Let us know where you live:  city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 29, 2025, 10:45 pm

Story
This handsome boy is called Cooper and he is a young one year, 55 pound male Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix who is gorgeous and goofy.  This boy was formerly owned by a person who let him run loose (unsafe) and he was getting in to trouble on neighbors properties as he hung out at the chicken coop and he got in to trash cans just for fun.  Cooper just wanted to have something to do!  A job ya know?  He is such a loving boy and he really is good with other dogs and adores people.  He is not cat tested but can be if needed. As you can see he needs a little spiffing up with some groomer which will happen soon.  He is a deep rich mahogany color and has the softest, long wavy fur that just makes you want to sit and pet him for a while. Cooper with all his energy and desire to do things fun, needs a fenced yard and maybe just maybe you could offer him kids and another dog to occupy hours of fun and playtime.  He is smart as he is handsome.  Learning leash manners and he is willing to obey if you do the practice every day for a while.  This boy loves life and you will love Cooper.   If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 17, 2025, 11:44 pm
