Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ISO happily ever after! BALT NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Balt and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (2/15) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!              Name:  Balt          Best Guess for Breed:   Border collie and lab mix     Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of February 2026        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  39 lbs as of 1/14/26; might have just a bit more to grow   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:   Balt is shy and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident fog who will show him the ropes.    Balt is Looking For:   Balt wants nothing more to trot through life with all the confidence of a well-loved family pet! He hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is eager for sniffy walks, romps, and all the adventures his new humans can dream up. To get there, he needs extra patient and loving humans who understand he is a little shy and needs to experience new environments at his pace. A welcoming resident dog will help show him to dog too!   Most of all, he wants to be safe and loved. In exchange he promises so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Is Balt the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Balt is a very sweet boy who is learning all about the fun things that the world offers outside of the shelter. He absolutely loves toys, sleeping on the couch or the dog bed, and playing with friends. He doesn't pull on the leash but will zigzag in front of you because he just wants to sniff all the smells. He gets along great with my moody dog at home, taking her corrections perfectly when she doesn't want to play. Balt has done great with house breaking and crate training. He can be shy at first with people, but after a few minutes, he will come up to you and give you a kisses and a tail wag. So far, he has been a wonderful work from home buddy and is fast asleep on the dog bed next to my computer desk. I know this guy is eager to find his forever family and show them just how much love he has to give.      Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!! Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.handsome pup needs a home!KENJI NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:       Kenji           Best Guess for Breed:       Border Collie mix   Best Guess for Age:        12 weeks as of February 2026           SEX:        Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):     12 lbs as of February 16, 2026.   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:       Shelter! Kenji and his siblings need a DC area foster or adopter to make his way out of the shelter!   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Kenji is Looking For:       Hi! I'm Kenji! My littermates Kemy, Kai, and Kanda, and I have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?   What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! We will update this when they have spent time with a foster Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than May 16, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

To learn more about Ringo, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. A Day in the Life of Ringo: Play, Cuddles, Repeat! Meet Ringo, an young cattle dog mix who’s ready to rock your world! This playful and curious pup is already stealing hearts with his stunning brindled coat, big personality, and endless zest for life. He loves everyone he meets and thrives on adventure. Whether he’s chasing balls, running free in the yard, or showing off his growing list of commands, Ringo’s enthusiasm is contagious. Ringo is very smart—the kind of clever that keeps you laughing and on your toes. He’s eager to please, loves treats (almost as much as his toys!), and is learning quickly what it means to be a well-mannered young gentleman. He’s house-trained, a good car companion, and enjoys relaxing by the door, watching the world go by or napping close to his favorite human. Like any bright, young pup, Ringo needs both physical exercise and mental challenges to keep his tail wagging. He’d do best with an all adult household and an active adopter who enjoys being outdoors and has a fully fenced yard where he can safely zoom to his heart’s content. He’s still growing out of his puppy antics—a bit jumpy, mouthy, and full of energy—but with patience, consistency, and continued training, Ringo will mature into an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready to team up with a fun, whip-smart pup who’ll keep you laughing, learning, and moving, come meet Ringo today—he’s ready to join your fab family!
