Please contact Hayley Silverman (hayley.silverman@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play! BENITO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Benito and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/28) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name: Benito       Best Guess for Breed:  Border collie mix Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of November 2025         SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight: 25 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think he would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   See this sweetie in this video! - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6H4O0f7TmYI   Benito is Looking For: Benito is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. He's eager to get his own humans in the DC area - he's a young boy and has so much to see and do. Long sniffy walks, romps with pup pals, and all the adventures his new family can dream up - yes, please! Dog school would be great, too, so he can show how super smart he is.   Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and under his own roof for all his days. In exchange, he promises to always put a smile on your face - and to give so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Is Benito the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has spent time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Watch this video of sweet boy Roscoe walking so well on his leash!   Check out this video of Roscoe walking side by side with his handler.   Roscoe is Looking For:   His forever home! Roscoe is in his prime as a young adult dog and eager to go, go, go - romps in parks and world exploration! That likely border collie in him (breed mixes are always a guess but he certainly has that BC look!)  means he has a lot of energy and he can't wait to burn it all with his new family.    He's got so much to offer - happy tail wags and the pep to all your days and love and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Roscoe the one you can see by your side on all your adventures? What My Foster Says About Me: Great pup, very easy going and playful! He's good with other dogs, decent on leash for walks and jogging (still will need some work there), and has not had any accidents in the house (yet). After a little bit of whining, he settles in his crate. He is very athletic, pretty smart, and ready for adventure. And he was good with all the city things. He was curious about wildlife but easy enough to handle and is surely trainable (bonus he is food motivated) including for cool athletic tricks for example. He walks up to every door we pass - I think he wants to know if the grass is really greener on the other side of the fence. Good boy Roscoe, 14/10!      Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

To learn more about Trip, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Say hello to Trip, a happy-go-lucky 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who’s ready to trip right into your heart. With his gorgeous blonde coat sprinkled with cute ticking, he’s as striking as he is sweet. This friendly pup has loved all people, including kids, and soaks up attention from anyone who will give it to him. He generally walks well on leash, with the occasional investigative sniff work when something interests him. He takes treats gently, knows “sit,” and loves to play fetch—he can even catch a ball mid-air like a little furry outfielder! He’ll chase anything you toss, bring it back proudly, and also happily entertain himself with toys he picks out on his own. Trip has energy to spare, a big zest for life, and a heart full of happy. He sleeps like a champ through the night and is doing well with his potty training. Since he is both food- and toy-motivated, this will make him a great candidate for training as he grows. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, people-loving, toy-loving whirlwind of joy, Trip is ready to take you on the adventure of a lifetime. Bring him home and let the fun begin!
