Story
Meet Freya — a 4-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with movie-star looks and the social skills of someone accidentally forced into a group project. After spending her life as a breeding dog, Freya is finally getting to enjoy the important things in life: toys, comfy beds, snacks, and learning that humans can actually be pretty nice. She’s a shy girl and will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Think “slow-burn best friendship” rather than “love at first sight.” Freya is housebroken, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, loves other dogs, and would probably enjoy having a confident canine buddy around to show her the ropes. She’s still figuring out this whole “walking on a leash” thing, so a securely fenced yard is required while she continues her training montage. Her hobbies include:
• Carrying toys around proudly
• Napping dramatically in her dog bed
• Following other dogs like they’re celebrity influencers
• Keeping a suspiciously close eye on cats (Translation: she’d do best in a cat-free home.) Freya may not be the life of the party right away, but underneath the shy exterior is a sweet, gentle dog who deserves a calm home where she can finally relax and just be a dog. If you’re the kind of person who believes the best things in life are worth waiting for, Freya might just be your perfect match. Kennel license # 9117 Po box 2372 Reading pa 19608

Story
Introducing Tobias, a Sweet and Sensitive 2 Year Old 35 lb Mini Bernedoodle who just might teach you the true meaning of life: that happiness isn’t found in the grand moments, but in the courage it takes to embrace the small ones. Toby is not the dog who will rush into your arms on day one. For the first two years of Toby’s life while living in a commercial breeding facility, he had very few opportunities to learn that people can be trusted. Then Zoe's House Rescue stepped in, and Toby's next chapter began. Because Toby never learned that people could be a source of comfort, everything felt overwhelming. Keeping his distance felt safer than seeking attention. But slowly, Toby has been quietly changing. Toby's progress isn't measured in giant leaps. It's measured in quiet victories that are easy to miss unless you're paying attention. You may catch a gentle tail wag. Toby happily accepts treats, though he still prefers a little personal space while enjoying them. And boy, does he love running with the pack when they think they'll be catching neighborhood squirrels and rabbits! Most importantly, he is learning to realize that some people can be trusted, especially his foster mom. Living with Toby means learning to celebrate the small things. One day, you’ll notice he’s chosen to settle a little closer than usual. Another day you’ll realize he’s watching you with curiosity instead of uncertainty. You will sense that he wants you to pick him up to cuddle, but he just doesn’t have the confidence to jump up on your lap. The leash was once terrifying but now pack walks are on the agenda! The milestones with Toby aren't loud. They sneak up on you and somehow end up meaning everything. Toby is a smart sensitive boy who benefits from routine, enrichment, exercise and gentle quiet encouragement. He needs a family that understands trust is something earned, not demanded. He isn't looking to hide from the world anymore. He is looking for patient people who will help him continue discovering it. Toby’s MUST HAVES in his new home: • A securely fenced yard • While he has grown comfortable around dogs, he seems most drawn to calm companions who won’t overwhelm him. A smaller or similarly tempered dog may be an especially good fit. • Toby can be crated but would prefer a smaller area where he has a little more freedom to relax and make choices on his own. • Adult only home preferred. Because Toby’s journey is still unfolding, his adopters must be willing to continue working with his trainer and understand that building trust will be a gradual process. This will not be a quick transition, and Toby is not searching for a family expecting instant results. He is searching for people willing to invest in the relationship and celebrate the small victories that eventually become life-changing ones. The greatest reward with Toby isn’t teaching him something new. It’s being present when he decides, on his own, that he’s ready for the next chapter. If you’re willing to slow down, observe, learn, and find beauty in the smallest of breakthroughs, Tobias would love to meet you. His story is still being written, and he is looking for someone special to help write the happy ending he is so deserving of. Story
Meet Junie! 🐾 If you've ever wanted a dog with the heart of a teddy bear and the soul of a cat, Junie may just be your perfect match. This adorable 4-year-old Mini Bernedoodle came to rescue after being surrendered by a commercial breeder, and she's making up for lost time by soaking up all the love she can get. In fact, we're pretty sure Junie is at least 25% cat. Why? Because her favorite place in the world is wherever you happen to be. She'll happily follow you from room to room, supervise all your daily activities, and then curl up in the crook of your neck for a nap as if she was born to be your personal scarf. Junie is a world-class snuggler who believes personal space is highly overrated. Whether you're watching TV, working from home, or heading to bed, she's ready to be your constant companion. The good news doesn't stop there! Junie is: ✨ Great with kids ✨ Wonderful in the car ✨ Easy to walk and great on a leash ✨ Crate trained While she knows how to use a crate, Junie would much rather have the freedom to roam the house and spend her nights cuddled up in bed with her people. She's a gentle, affectionate girl who thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to be part of the family. After spending her early years in a breeding environment, Junie is ready for the life she deserves—a home filled with love, soft beds, belly rubs, and humans to adore. She currently lives with two larger sized dogs, and acts like one of the crew. She is housebroken, but some regression is understandable while she learns about her new environment. She is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative, and up to date on flea/worm preventions. The various pictures of Junie are before/after her recent trip to the groomers. If you're looking for a loyal shadow, a professional cuddler, and a best friend who will never let you go to the bathroom alone again, Junie is waiting to meet you. ❤️🐶🐱 Apply today and discover why we think Junie might secretly be part cat!
