Story
Meet Freya — a 4-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with movie-star looks and the social skills of someone accidentally forced into a group project. After spending her life as a breeding dog, Freya is finally getting to enjoy the important things in life: toys, comfy beds, snacks, and learning that humans can actually be pretty nice. She’s a shy girl and will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Think “slow-burn best friendship” rather than “love at first sight.” Freya is housebroken, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, loves other dogs, and would probably enjoy having a confident canine buddy around to show her the ropes. She’s still figuring out this whole “walking on a leash” thing, so a securely fenced yard is required while she continues her training montage. Her hobbies include:
• Carrying toys around proudly
• Napping dramatically in her dog bed
• Following other dogs like they’re celebrity influencers
• Keeping a suspiciously close eye on cats (Translation: she’d do best in a cat-free home.) Freya may not be the life of the party right away, but underneath the shy exterior is a sweet, gentle dog who deserves a calm home where she can finally relax and just be a dog. If you’re the kind of person who believes the best things in life are worth waiting for, Freya might just be your perfect match. Kennel license # 9117 Po box 2372 Reading pa 19608

Story
Introducing Tobias, a Sweet and Sensitive 2 Year Old Mini Bernedoodle who just might teach you the true meaning of life: that happiness isn’t found in the grand moments, but in the courage it takes to embrace the small ones. Toby is not the dog who will rush into your arms on day one. For the first two years of Toby’s life while living in a commercial breeding facility, he had very few opportunities to learn that people can be trusted. Then Zoe's House Rescue stepped in, and Toby's next chapter began. Because Toby never learned that people could be a source of comfort, everything felt overwhelming. Keeping his distance felt safer than seeking attention. But slowly, Toby has been quietly changing. Toby's progress isn't measured in giant leaps, but in quiet victories that are easy to miss unless you're paying close attention. A gentle tail wag, anticipating a treat, but still eating them only from a distance, joining the pack for a walk or a spirited game of squirrel chasing are all signs of his progress. Most importantly, Toby is learning to trust. Living with him means celebrating the small things: noticing he's settled a little closer than yesterday, catching him watching you with curiosity instead of uncertainty, or realizing he wants affection but isn't quite brave enough to ask for it. Toby's milestones aren't loud. They sneak up on you and somehow end up meaning everything. Toby is a smart sensitive boy who benefits from routine, enrichment, exercise and gentle quiet encouragement. He needs a family that understands trust is something earned, not demanded. He isn't looking to hide from the world anymore. He is looking for patient people who will help him continue discovering it. Toby’s MUST HAVES in his new home: • A securely fenced yard • While he has grown comfortable around dogs, he seems most drawn to calm companions who won’t overwhelm him. A smaller or similarly tempered dog may be an especially good fit. • Toby can be crated but would prefer a smaller area where he has a little more freedom to relax and make choices on his own. • Adult only home preferred, but visiting respectful children are always invited. Because Toby’s journey is still unfolding, his adopters must be willing to continue working with his trainer and understand that building trust will be a gradual process. This will not be a quick transition, and Toby is not searching for a family expecting instant results. He is searching for people willing to invest in the relationship and celebrate the small victories that eventually become life-changing ones. The greatest reward with Toby isn’t teaching him something new. It’s being present when he decides, on his own, that he’s ready for the next chapter. If you’re willing to slow down, observe, learn, and find beauty in the smallest of breakthroughs, Tobias would love to meet you. His story is still being written, and he is looking for someone special to help write the happy ending he is so deserving of.
