Story
Hello world this is Nugget.! Nugget is a 5 year old spayed female nugget is a mix between a english bulldog Frenchie and pitbull. What a mix I know. I needing to rehome her due to my personal changes in my life and unable to provide the time she needs with my life changing the way it is. Nugget is not house broken but we have come a long way she will need someone that works from home or someone who is not away for more that 4 hours unless you have a way for her to go out on her own she learns fast and just needs a steady routine. Nugget will also need someone who is familiar with her breed as she does have breathing issues so hot weather is not her friend so no long walks she will over heat easily YES she is a lazy dog with random bursts of the zombies. Nugget is very food motivated not too big on toys but she needs something she can chew on and keep her attention. Let's get together for a meet and greet and see if she warms your ❤️💜

These pups are in Mesa, Arizona too!

Story
Meet Cookie – A Sweet Soul Looking for Her Safe Place Everyone, meet Cookie, a 5-year-old French Bulldog who recently joined the Freedom Squad from the Arizona Humane Society. Cookie’s life before rescue wasn’t kind—she was found as a stray, her skin struggling with mange, her ear infected, and her little body showing the signs of being bred multiple times. But Cookie’s story isn’t about what happened to her—it’s about where she’s going next. Personality blossom: Since arriving, Cookie has blossomed. Her skin is clearing up beautifully with a salmon-based diet, soothing baths, and daily probiotics. Her ear is healing well with ointment, leaving her with an adorable little crinkle that makes her even more unique. After all, what’s cuter than a Frenchie with two pointy ears? One with a floppy ear? Cookie weighs about 23 pounds and, while the stress of her past has aged her looks, her heart is pure puppy. She loves mealtime, enjoys sunbathing in the yard with her foster siblings, and most of all, she adores being near her human. Foster pupdate: If you’re outside, she’s outside. If you’re inside, she’s right at your feet—or sometimes perched on the armrest, nudging you gently with her nose for love and attention. Her foster mom says she’s a little shadow and the sweetest coworker you could ever ask for. When others crates are open, she is nosey in them hunting for pieces of kibble, but she eats twice a day!! Cookie is a snack enthusiast; it’s like she has a column on tasty treats in the Phoenix Times. When I am outside with all the other dogs she is to and they all get along so well! (like all dogs that come into our home we apply the 333 rule. She is as sweet as she is cute, and we are still learning about her and watching her personality come alive as she settles. Anyone would be missing out if they bypassed her. Training and Trust: Cookie does well with other dogs, but like many Frenchies (and rescue dogs in general), she prefers her food to be hers when she’s in her crate. This is normal and manageable for an adopter willing to give her patience and guidance. With time and trust, she will continue to build her confidence and let go of the insecurities that life taught her to hold onto. She’s potty trained, loves a routine, and will thrive in a home that continues to keep her on a healthy diet and commits to the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to truly settle in. Cookie’s forever family will need to go slow and love hard—but she is absolutely worth it. Cookie is not defined by her looks or her past—she is defined by her sweetness, her loyalty, and her deep desire to belong to someone who sees her for the gem she truly is. Her big doe eyes, speckled with little highlights, are starting to brighten each day as she feels more secure. Her personality is blooming as her body heals. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Cookie is your girl. Give her the chance to know safety and love for the rest of her life. You can apply for Cookie at freedomfrenchierescue.org, her adoption donation fee is $1025.00. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Cookie is located in Mesa, AZ but might possibly be fostered in Yuma in the next week (we will update this). Let’s show her that forever love is real.

Story
Buddy our Little Elder Introvert: Toy obsessed Yes! Meet Buddy, the French Bulldog with the personality of a 1920s flapper dancer! This 7-year-old charmer came to us as an owner surrender due to family changes and concerns over his behavior around young children. While Buddy showed some aggression in his previous home with their toddler, he has been a model citizen in his foster home, showing no signs of aggression and living peacefully with the other dogs—though he prefers to do his own thing rather than join in on their antics. Buddy is a sweet, introverted soul who thrives in a calm and quiet environment. He has a gentle sway in his hips when he walks, which only adds to his unique personality. Whether he’s “talking” in his hilarious Frenchie bark, exploring the house, playing with his toys, or enjoying a long nap, Buddy knows how to keep himself entertained. Ideal Home: Buddy is looking for a home with no children under 10 years old, that are well versed in leaving a dog be (he is not looking for a best friend), as he finds chaotic environments overwhelming. He would do wonderfully in a household with: • A small, quiet family with older children • A single person who wants a loyal companion • A peaceful couple who can provide a calm and structured environment Buddy loves his crate (it’s his safety zone) and prefers it to be accessible so he can come and go as he pleases. His favorite spot is a cozy dog bed by the couch, where he can keep an eye on you while relaxing. Health & Special Care Needs: Buddy is healthy overall, but as a senior French Bulldog, he has a few age-related conditions: • Spinal Issues (IVDD): Managed with medication, crate rest, and non-surgical therapies such as acupuncture or chiropractic treatments. • Allergies: He is on a salmon-based diet and supplements (hip and joint supplements, probiotics) to keep him feeling his best. • Eyes: One of Buddy’s eyes is slightly cloudy due to a repaired ulcer, but it doesn’t affect his quality of life. • Mobility: He walks on all fours and is not incontinent. Continued care, like therapy and a safe home layout, will help him thrive. Personality: Buddy is a true introvert who loves peace and quiet. He’s not one for rough housing but adores cheek and ear scratches. His quirky bark—part talk, part Frenchie charm—is sure to make you laugh. He may not be the life of the party, but he’s the perfect companion for someone who values quiet moments and a loving presence. He loves to go for short walks, but we always advise to not let strangers pet. Buddy has plenty of life and love left to share. With his foster family’s care, he’s been thriving, and we’re confident he can continue living a happy, comfortable life with the right adopter. This guy needs a home to live out the rest of his golden years quietly with a couch potato. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion to share your days with, Buddy might just be your perfect match! He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Adoption donation fee $700.00, please apply for Buddy on our website, freedomfrenchierescue.org, located in Mesa, AZ (pending foster).

Story
Hi, I’m Benny the Christmas Grinch (With a Secret Soft Side) My Story (Told by the Grinch Himself… Me.) Well, well, well… so you want to know about me, huh? I’m Benny, a grumpy-looking, secretly-soft, holiday-season mystery Frenchie who found himself dumped right before Christmas. Yep — somebody’s pet one day, unwanted the next. Long Beach Animal Shelter took me in, and Freedom Frenchie Rescue made sure I got out of there safely. Now I’m trying to understand this whole “rescue life,” but let me tell you… I’m confused. I thought I knew everything. Turns out I don’t — shocking, I know. The Grinch-y Stuff (Let’s Just Get It Out of the Way) Yes, I can be a bit of a Grinch. A tiny, round, ornament-hoarding, candy-cane-suspicious holiday grouch. I do not like other dogs coming near me while I’m getting attention, and I will resource guard — my humans are helping me learn it’s not OK, and I’m trying. Truth is, it’s a Frenchie trait. We’re needy, we love our people, and we want our things. If you want a dog who doesn’t want attention or possessions, then a Frenchie isn’t for you. But if you know the breed? You get me. You’ll understand why I look tough but melt like hot cocoa the second your hand touches me. The Sweet Side (The Part I Pretend Doesn’t Exist) Under the grumpy face and the Grinch-y personality, I’m actually a huge cuddler. I love belly rubs, ear scratches, soft touches, warm blankets, and curling myself under your feet while you work. When you watch Christmas movies, I lie in my dog bed next to you like a little grumpy ornament. Sometimes I hop up for pets, melt into your arms, and then wander back to my bed to pretend I’m independent. I’m sincere, I mean well, and once the house isn’t full of dogs, I relax completely. In a home with one or two dogs, I shine like a Christmas star. My North Pole Manners & Christmas Training Despite my Grinch impression, I actually have very good North Pole manners. I am fully potty trained, which Santa says earns me a permanent spot on the Nice List. I eat two meals a day — now happily — after a few unsure days where I wasn’t certain what was happening. I’m learning basic commands like “sit” and how to politely wait for my treats, even when other dogs are around, though patience is not my strong suit. My resource guarding is improving with guidance and consistency, and I’m starting to understand that nothing good is being taken from me here. As for lifting my leg inside the house, I’m getting much better. I wear a belly band indoors to remind me of my manners, and when I go outside, I do my business like a gentleman. I may give off a grumpy vibe, but trust me — I’m really trying to be the well-behaved holiday elf Santa knows I can be. My Daily Christmas Routine I’m not into toys yet — too busy figuring out this new world — but I do love quiet, cozy spaces. If a dog wanders too close to my crate, I’ll grumble a little, but my foster covers it with a blanket so I can decompress. I love sitting in the dog bed by the TV or tucking myself under your desk like a little green grump gremlin. I’m observant, independent, curious, and trying to understand where I fit. I’ll be heading to a long-term foster soon where my personality will continue to blossom, but for now, this is what we know: I’m loyal, loving in my own way, and full of potential. Why You Should Choose a Grinch Like Me Because even the Grinch deserves a Christmas miracle. I am potty trained, affectionate, smart, sensitive, and trying so hard to be the best boy I can be. I may come with quirks, but I also come with a whole lot of heart — and once I bond with you, my little Grinch heart grows at least three sizes. What my Temp mom reported to the North Pole! At first we just gave him his space, but a funny thing happened yesterday 12/1/2025. He was outside while I was on poop duty and there were other rescues in the yard low and behold!! Benny was trying to play with them. Granted they were all girls but he was getting excited about life and actually played with a toy for a few minutes. He was hopping around trying to engage but wasn’t sure how to. It was a big moment for Benny! So, whoever adopts this guy had to give him his space to decompress for a few weeks but believe me the fun is in him and trying to come out. Trust has to be built with Benny first, after that it’s a drop in the Santa bag! My Next Chapter I’ll be moving into a long-term foster home soon where my personality will blossom even more. But for now? This is what we know: A potty-trained, independent, cuddle-loving Frenchie is an A+ in anyone’s book — especially at Christmas. P.S I am vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, fostered in Gilbert, AZ (future) and you can apply for me at freedomfrenchierescue.org, and read how the adoption process works! Also do not apply for me if you want me to be your fashion statement, that is not my cup of tea! Love, Benny The Christmas Grinch Who Just Wants a Home of His Own
