Her adorable “bulldog talk” is guaranteed to make you laugh. Sophie was surrendered to us when her previous owners moved and couldn’t take her along. Now, she’s looking for a patient and understanding owner to provide her with the stability and love she needs. While Sophie enjoys being around people, she doesn’t always play well with other dogs, although she tends to get along better with males. She thrives in a home with only one other dog, preferably male, but she’ll need time and space to adjust to a new environment. Slow introductions are key, and Sophie will benefit from a calm, supportive transition to help her feel secure. At home, Sophie is a bit of an independent spirit. She loves to do her own thing but will happily follow her human around for attention. She’s crate-trained, and her crate serves as her safe space. She’s also potty-trained, though she may have a few accidents as she adjusts to her new surroundings. Sophie is in good health for her age but does require daily eye drops due to some vision issues. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but she’s likely to coexist peacefully if they keep to themselves. Older children would be a great match for Sophie, but a home without toddlers is preferred. During her four months with us, Sophie has shown her love for water play and her eagerness to please when treats are involved. Meet Rex, a stunning 4-year-old black and tan point English Bulldog with a laid-back personality. This guy has kind gentle eyes and a sincere personality. Rex came to us as an owner surrender due to an ear and skin infection, which has since been completely cleared up with antibiotics and a steroid spray. Now, he's ready to find his forever home! Rex is the ultimate lounger—he loves nothing more than being close to his human and cuddling up with his favorite stuffy, as he sucks on it. While he enjoys the comfort of his crate as his safe space, he prefers the door open so he can freely roam when he pleases. Rex is fully potty trained and sleeps soundly through the night. He loves his toys and absolutely enjoys antlers to chew on. When it comes to hanging out with his bulldog foster siblings, Rex is easygoing. He tries to avoid confrontation and is submissive as possible, but he will defend himself and give a warning. Sometimes he joins in on the fun, and other times, he’s content to watch them play while basking in the sun. He does play with a pack of 5 English bulldogs and French bulldogs every day and he really enjoys their company but he is always the first one wanting to come in the house. Rex enjoys his morning walks when the weather is cooler and is great on a leash. Rex also knows basic commands and is a well-behaved boy. He's very cooperative with his weekly hygiene routine, including cleaning his wrinkles, ears, and toes to keep him healthy and comfortable. Though he’s a bit restless in the car at first, Rex eventually settles down and sleeps for the rest of the journey, making him a great travel buddy. He can get overstimulated in public places with several other dogs (like any rescue) but is learning that it is safe and finds a way to grab all the attention. Mustard has been looking for a home to call his own for 175 DAYS!!! He is a classic bulldog, stubborn and sensitive. Mustard is a tiny compact little thing, weighing about 40lbs, but small enough to carry like a large football in your arms! He loves walks and playing tug with the bite sleeve. He’s got a lot of drive in his little body! Mustard is head of our water therapy department at Handover Rover. He LOVES the water treadmill and can max out its 9mph speed, no problem. Mustard makes sure to keep a close eye on the other dogs while they’re using it. He’s a brilliant coach. We don’t have any cats we could test him with, so we are unsure how he would do with them. He does great with dogs, doesn't care to play with them, but tolerates them. He likes to keep to himself. He is still in training with the rescue, but we love for potential adopters to follow him and be involved with his training. Yasmine is a sweet and gentle French Bulldog who came to us from a breeder release in California. She is a little shy at first but with some extra love and patience, she will warm up quickly. Yasmine is a chunky girl and has a beautiful brindle coloring with a unique toe. The only medical concern she has is some skin issues and her ears need a weekly cleaning and she is currently taking medication for her left ear to deter it from an ear mass and her foster is cleaning it every other day. Keeping the wrinkles in her face clean are key as she has some skin tags and has lost some fur but it is slowly coming back. She has been to the vet and her ear is already hard and could not be drained, so we keep them super clean and currently use mometamax. Yasmine’s left eye is cloudy but according to the vet it is not medically affecting her and does not need to be removed. Her personality is divine as she is super sweet. Yasmine is a little shy and will crouch down when petted but she is the most loving gal and will seek out attention once she knows she is in a safe place. With a bit of extra love and attention, she quickly warms up. She came to us with 3 others in a breeder release and all of the girls were very close and ran in a pack when we got them. We have slowly separated them and they seem to be doing great with foster siblings. Yas loves to play with her siblings but is very independent and loves to chill in her bed or lay in the sun and observe everyone else playing. She is not fully potty trained but she is working on it. Yaasmine will need structure, guidance and consistency daily as she was kept in a kennel her whole life and used for breeding. She is a spectacular furball and is a sweet as her endearing eyes. Yasmine will do best in a home where she receives plenty of love and attention. Her ideal family will be committed to her regular health care routine and provide a structured environment to help her feel secure. Yasmine is a gentle and affectionate dog who will bring joy and love to her forever home. She’s a wonderful companion who, with a little extra care, will reward you with loyalty and affection.
