Story
You won’t need to pull out your high school literature books to fall in love with our lovely, Juliet like boxer mix, Capulet. She doesn’t need long wavy hair to garnish affection; her wiggly butt and short wagging nub tail is all she needs to make you fall in love! A sturdy 62 lb young adult, Capulet is curious, always wants to be in the middle of the action and loves a good lean in for affection from our volunteers. This young lady appears to have suffered an injury at some time to the top of her head but isn't slowed to dimmed at all by that both in abilities and spirit. She’s found several dog friends at Saving Grace in her play groups and while she loves the outdoors, she’s particularly fond of a warm bed in cooler temperatures. She walks well on a leash and will be a great walking partner and keep you on your toes! Sleepover feedback: " She sleeps through the night and is cuddly. She's gentle taking treats and does ok on the leash. She likes all the people and never barked once". Weekend Host Feedback: “We had a great weekend with Capulet! No cats introduced, the neighbors dog barked and a few other's and she didn't bark back. interested in passing dogs but not reactive at all. Not bothered by squirrels either! She's ok on the harness leash but needs more practice. She's a quick learner! Capulet would sit for treats on the 2nd day and took them very gently. Not a huge fan of car rides but once in she rides fine and very well behaved. She did not want to go in the crate but just throw a treat and she goes in no problem, slept well at night. Was house trained no accidents at all. She'd cry in morning to alert us about 6.30am - 7am to go out for her pee. She's food motivated which helps with training. Think she would do well with folks that enjoys trail walks and running as she ran alongside us well. Her snoring is very loud and very funny / cute. She's such a gentle soul that we feel very lucky to have met her! If we didn’t travel so much for work would have loved her to stay longer and we pray she finds a kind owner soon.”

Story
River is a smart, housebroken, crate trained, and food motivated approx one year old mix.. His foster home has been working on leash skills and he already knows several basic commands. He would do fantastic with a single young adult or child-free couple who have some experience with dogs already and can continue to build on the foundation they have been working on. He is young and has a lot to learn. River’s ideal home has: A dog his size that will play with him and help him learn doggy social skills, his foster home only has small old pups and he wants them to play so badly. A fenced in yard for zoomies and games of fetch (Eventually he might even learn to bring the ball back!) He’s never attempted to escape the yard but a 6’ tall fence is recommended so he’s never tempted. He can leap clear over the couch… Maybe agility training is in his future! No small kids - he is fostered with several kids, as young as 4 years old, but is very much a puppy at heart does not seem to realize his own size and strength and can still be a bit unpredictable. Lots of durable toys like Kongs and Benebones available. He LOVES to chew on toys but does a really good job only chewing what he’s allowed too. Stuffed animals with squeakers are a blast for him - albeit very short lived!
